What's Life Like in New York City?

Frost last night. Thanks for the great new pictures. On the other hand I miss Blacks especially in Fall in winter.

As I mentioned on the Ponderings thread, my friend was visiting me for the last week and I took some pics in Manahttan, including Hudson Yards and The Vessel, (which you cannot climb at this time), The Highline, Little Island, and yesterday we were in Battery Park and I took a couple of pics down there too.

Beautiful Fall day to take those pics.

Today was a spectacular sunny and 65 degree late October day in New York City and I took the five minute walk down the street to Brooklyn Bridge Park to check out the Harvest Fest. It was mostly a kids thing but it was a great day to get out and enjoy the changing colors as autumn is fully setting in. A few of the sights of today follow.

Awesome new pictures, thank you to pieces for them!

You are very welcome. Living in a great neighborhood and having a great iPhone inspires me to take great pics and to share them here. :001_smile:
So you just said why I post my images. While I am a collector, I am a much bigger sharer.

New York City beautifully reflects the change in seasons! Great pics!

As I was out this morning doing my morning chores, I decided to take a few pics of my neighborhood on this Halloween weekend 2022 as autumn is beginning to more fully show it’s colors.

I further decided that I will do here what I used to do on another now defunct forum started by a former forumite in Amsterdam, where we had a more private forum than here. I used to show my neighborhood going through seasonal changes with dates, for easy comparison as to how everything changes within a few months of one another. As I get older, I marvel more at nature and this is my first dated entry.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. But keep in mind the affects of globaL warming, which over the last years has gotten noticeably worse. Back in 1967 , NYU had a renowned meteorology department, where I did research on the rise in the temperatures in New York City over the previous decades which even then was significant.

No question that climate change has affected our weather. But despite that there is still an elegance and beauty in watching the seasons gradually evolve over the months each year until everything looks completely different a few months later. For me it is like watching a beautiful natural painting gradually being created each day of the year. It has obviously been happening all my life. But only in recent years have I begun to appreciate the magnificence of it all.

Never too late my friend. And I am the recipient of your conversion.

Very well put. And thank you for the pictures.

On a spectacular sunny 70 degree New York City November 4th, I took the subway uptown and met a friend for a visit The Guggenheim Museum on Fifth Avenue and East 89th Street opposite Central Park. I haven’t been to The Guggenheim in many years and I still love the unusual architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright which makes for a great setting in a spiral format to see great art.

In addition to the classic masterpieces in a separate room, the whole six floor spiraling out of the sky was devoted to New York born twentieth century artist, Alex Katz. Here are some visuals from my visit this afternoon.
