Angelone, intellectually I agree with your entire post, except for one factor. The subject matter here is sex, and I would venture to guess that 99% of us found ourselves on this site, after searching for some good jerk off material. And therefore I think it is a different kind of a site, where it is impossible not to judge a scene based on how sexually excited we became watching it.I think that the present system is totally based on "how you feel" rather than on any objective criterion. The first objective before a judgment is formed is what is expected from a truly straight man doing gay sex? Once this is secured, then the judging can begin with any concrete basis. Right now I surmise that most members give rating based on whether they got their rocks off and not on whether the model comes across as authentically straight and was his performance convincing. If this objective is not factored in the rating, then what's the point of Broke Straight Boys? It will be just another gay porn site!

And of course while the "straightness" factor is important to both you and I, I have spoken in messages and on the forum with dozens of members, over the years, who do not care if the guys are straight. When I first heard that it boggled my mind, but I now understand that different people are members here often looking for completely different things. That's why I'd always be amused when David would grow frustrated and even angry with us on the forum, when he would change something based on forum feedback, and then other people would complain, and David would say, "There's no pleasing you guys". And of course that is correct because we are not all "like minded" and our opinions can differ greatly.
So when it comes to voting on a sex scene. I would have a difficult time voting and not relying on my trusty "peter meter" to tell me how to vote.
Or how about this... 0- I wouldn't touch him even if I had a gun to my head, 1- I'd touch him if I had a gun to my head, 2- I might touch him if I were really hard up, 3- OK, I'll touch him but he has to go first. 4- Oh, yes, I wanna feel that dude up, 5- I would lick every inch of that stud's body.
While Erik's scale is a lot more descriptive than my theories, but we basically agree that we give the highest ratings to the model's we want to "lick every inch of that stud's body" to.Erik's rating system works for me.
whatever scoring system you use, you have to have guidelines such as 0 - not my cup of tea. 1 - rather watch paint dry, 2 - below average, 3 - average, 4 - above average, 5 - way above average.... Or similar lines.
I think I am holding Ayden in my secret room. Who is in yours?
why Jason .... who else.... well maybe Johnny but I would have to get a bigger room.

I agree a 1-5 system is awfully generic for expressing our passion about a scene. Particularly if we really really really like a scene. I might give a 5 to a scene like Spencer and Denver because it far surpassed my expectations, but then what happens with Carter and Max?!?! A 5 just isn't good enough. *sigh*
I always appreciate it WebMonkey when you interact with us. And I appreciate when you remind us of the real factors that truly judge if a model will be back and how often. Some people have always believed that their votes were the same as television ratings, but you confirm that it is only one factor in the process of evaluation.Interesting thoughts. As far as how we interpret your response, we look at hits, votes, comments, tweets, the lot. The comments often reveal alot more than the simple vote. It does help us to have a consistent voting range for the purposes of relative comparison though. Let me read through the rest of the comments...
