The Virtual Coffee Shop, Diner And Corner Pub

Mark gives us the opportunity to post most anything we choose here, within reason. So post away. We all have an equal opportunity to say or show pics of whatever we please. Have fun.
It has never stopped me. Setting aside the images I respond to most every post in all threads. My opinions are usually different from most others, not to be different unless I am trying to get others to respond.

You 2 sound like an old married couple sometimes.

That‘s actually very funny.

Happy 90th Birthday, Carol Burnett!

I personally would have never chose to be attracted to men, there is 0 benefit to it, but like you said I have also come to terms with that it's just part of who I am. There was a point in development I remember being attracted to females, but not really in a sexual way. Eventually I will need to experiment with the girls to determine how it actually makes me feel but I will never have the same motivation to be with a woman.
You are so correct! Given the history's negative social conditioning towards same sex genetic orientation, why would anyone chose to be subjected to that? You also nailed it with "I have also come to terms with that it's just part of who I am," as we all have non sexual aspects to our lives that have to come to terms with our genetic orientations. It's better than it used to be, but we are still within a sexual minority in society's view.

Thank you for this contribution GWTW. It speaks to countless generations of us gay people going back to practically the beginning of time. I would never have consciously chosen to be gay. It chose me. Not the other way around. I did not decide on this supposed "lifestyle choice" (an ignorant misnomer if there ever was one) out of some desire to be non-conformist.

Oh man. I'm so sorry to hear that. I remember Logan well from his early days at CF. I was unaware of the original assault or his life-altering injuries.

Heck, I've even got at least one downloaded video of him on my external hard drive.

RIP Brother
I have posted one episode and will post others, including one later today.

The other term besides “lifestyle choice” that has always pissed me off is “sexual preference”. That makes it sound like preferring chocolate over vanilla. Being gay is not preferring one thing over another. It is who I am and the way God made me, not a choice or a preference.

I so agree. "Sexual preference" and "lifestyle choice" are some of the most annoying terms ever for gay people. Beyond the gay slurs of course.

Right? How is sexual preference even a thing. You can’t prefer something over anything that isn’t even a consideration.

Fully agree. I suppose in the same way as preferring to eat & drink as opposed to not.

I purposely have not posted this on the sports thread because the whole point of this cultural trend of the past is that it was supposedly NOT to be viewed in an erotic or sexual way whatsoever. Some of my older friends who have talked about their childhoods and young adulthoods in the 40's, 50's, 60's and going forward tell of the time when male swimming in the YMCA and even high schools had a mandatory requirement of nudity.

Even some of my gay friends said that they did not enjoy at all having to be nude as kids around their fathers, uncles and cousins at YMCA. That varies of course on each person's level of modesty and body image issues. Others saw nothing wrong with it based on the cultural mores of the time. Some gay ones did enjoy it for the perk of seeing their classmates naked. So it's a mixed bag even among some of my own older friends. As they say, "It was a simpler time."

Now, it's obviously totally verboten in society for reasons that are obvious to us based on the cultural and legal mores of our modern era. The creator of these videos articulates these cultural changes throughout this 3 part series.

I have a YouTube subscription to “Demystifying Gay Porn”, and this episode anppeared in my feed this morning. Today he interviews a female gay porn fan and it was so nostalgic for me in regards to this forum. Our most prolific female poster was Beth, who to this day is #9 in most posts and she hasn’t been here since 2017.

We also had Ms.K, Lovelumps, Deidra, (one time moderator here), Grace, Bart, Milla, Nurse Nancy, (I forget here exact name), and others.

It’s fun watching this interview of another woman who loves gay porn.
