Scene Thread - Two Bros Jerk Off

What disappointed me most about this scene wasn't so much the concept but the scene literally being filmed the same way it was when the site started way back. If you watch this and the an early one they are literally the same. Now when Broke Straight Boys was first filmed it would I have no doubt have been considered inventive and a welcome to the porn industry. For me, this format in 2020 looks tired and uninspiring. The chat was inane and went on for over five minutes. The models I am not convinced are straight particularly Moreno . There didn't seem the reluctance I would have expected from "straight' guys to get their kit off. Also a really big no no for me is using mobile phones in a scene, Skyler really looked bored with the whole thing when being jerked off by Moreno.

I appreciate that you and others that have been around since the beginning would enjoy this nostalgic scene, but the ratings do not reflect that this is what everyone wants to see. You're right, Management are not going to be able to please everyone but consideration needs to be given to a fine balance of the concept of Broke Straight Boys and the evolving needs of the membership and what they expect from scenes filmed today. Going back to a format that worked when the site first started is probably not the answer. As with any concept it should be allowed to grow and develop in the ever changing and competitive world of the porn industry.

Sorry to say that this scene was seriously boring and uninteresting. I was happy when the futon retired, but thought it would be fun to see it one more time for nostalgia. But if this is the new direction without much difference from from Broke Straight Boys 1.0, those members that joined Broke Straight Boys 2.0 And after will be left hanging. I would love to see some Broke Straight Boys 1.0 models Mixed with new models but I think that’s the limit of my interest. I hope management is working on a 4.0 version before We make a decision on leaving. :-(

I can see what you guys are saying. For newer members starting from over 5 years ago to the present especially, this kind of throwback to the Broke Straight Boys-1 era will not be entirely welcome by all. I'm sure that David and the rest of the production team will be trying to thread that needle of injecting some new life and new ideas into the production aspect without losing the interest of one segment or another of the audience. While I really enjoyed the old format of the mid to late 0's, even I agree that viewers' tastes and expectations are a little more jaded and sophisticated over 10 years later.

These are not normal times of course with Covid delaying production and threatening the safety of the models and staff. If we are to get only one new scene per week for a while it will be tough if the scenes are not a little more hardcore than some of the classic Broke Straight Boys-1 scenes. I'm pleased that we are being assured up front that we won't be enduring a week's wait just to see solos. So yes, I agree with those of you who feel that a return to scenes that look exactly like those from 2006-20010 or so will not necessarily go over as well in 2020. So how to find that happy medium where some of the models are much straighter than we have had lately, yet who are still willing (and able) to go for some of the more hardcore aspects of gay sex? That's a pretty tall order. It took a stable of mostly all gay Broke Straight Boys models to get us a lineup who could eagerly sit on a dick or suck one like a lollipop all within their first 3 scenes.

Some of the straighter models of the past who I've really liked based on both their personalities and looks, I've been more patient with in their slower progressions. Other models who I didn't take an immediate liking to, or felt they had less natural talent for the industry, I felt far less patience with them when the directors coddled them or gave them really long progressions. But when you do go with straighter models it does require some patience as they get their footing. So I'm both nervous and hopeful that David and Mark's team will find a balance which will keep most of us happy most of the time. :)

And it occurred to me that it was not just the Broke Straight Boys-1 boys who claimed to be straight and reluctant to do gay stuff. Some of the most popular models on the site during Clay's time including Paul Canon, Johnny Forza, Adam Baer and Tyler White all proclaimed that sucking dick was not their thing nor getting fucked and they didn't start every scene kissing. Of course the whole Broke Straight Boys thing is a fantasy set in a reality format, and so for me the reluctance makes it more charming and realistic. The pendulum had swung way too far in recent times though and Broke Straight Boys had lost it's uniqueness in the gay porn world. So while a total shift back to the days of Tank Shane and yes, Jimmy Johnson would not play today. But the other extreme that we've bene seeing in current scenes is not cutting it either. But I am confident that Mark and David will find that middle ground that will work in today's world!

Foxyman, I am perfectly fine with us disagreeing. For me that's what has always made this forum fun. If everyone agreed and "kissed the ass" of management and said every model was great and that every scene was wonderful, that would also be very uninteresting. What makes the forum fun for me is when several of us all offer our honest opinions whether we agree or disagree.

Again on this particular jack off scene, both David and Mark admitted that the pairing and the filming were a rush job. The situation in Atlanta and the testing there made it impossible for Sha to have a shoot week at that studio and David who was already filming College Boy Physicals had a testing site nearby that was equipped for both COVID and HIV testing and a quick decision was made to switch Moreno and Skyler from shooting College Boy Physicals to a rebirth of Broke Straight Boys-1.

Mark and David have said that future new match-ups will no longer feature jack off scenes and it will at least go right to oral. And we still have two more scenes of these two in the can, from the quick shoot week. My intention is to wait until David brings in new models who he hired exclusively for Broke Straight Boys to get a better idea of what direction the site will go in. But knowing David, I would not expect to bring in new boys and expect them to open their scenes with open mouth kissing and to readily suck or rim one another as has been the formula on Broke Straight Boys for the last few years.

Will David's style of shooting 'gay for pay' porn work in 2020? I don't know but I definitely think that a change in direction was needed and I am going to give the new direction time to find it's groove. With the exception of Ethan Steel, Masyn Thorne, Calhoun and Jos Alvarez, I watched very little porn on this site for the last period of time. I am excited to see the new talent and how David works his magic with brand new to porn, straight type boys in 2020. I am more excited now about Broke Straight Boys than I have been in many a moon. But we have to wait through the transition and through David's first three scenes which are apparently being interspersed with existing footage through the end of September.

P.S. I love this discussion with you Foxyman. And I urge others to voice their opinions, whether they agree with either of us. Spirited discussions are what this forum should be all about in my opinion.

Thanks for your comments Mikeyank and I agree with you that others need to add to the discussion because that is what makes this forum interesting.
I will wait and see what happens in the coming months and do appreciated that we are in very difficult times and that David and Mark are doing the best they can in the current climate I am just not sure that going back to a style of filming that was used at the beginning is the right decision. Saying that perhaps there is something to learn from other mediums outside the porn industry that have been around for a long time. The Star Trek franchise is an example of this. The concept in all its various incarnations remains the same, but I am not sure that the original series if it was filmed now would survive if it was filmed in exactly the same way that it was in the 1960s. It's had to evolve and change to reflect current tastes and I think Broke Straight Boys is the same. By all means use the original concept, but film it in away that the audience of today would appreciate. Time and ratings will tell on this.

Tampa, I think you are right here when you say that Broke Straight Boys need to find the right balance that will keep most of us happy. Unfortunately I think that is going to be a tall order and a skill if it is mastered that should be admired and applauded by all.

The trouble is Mikeyank I really don't believe there are any really straight guys out there anymore. Access to the web has made the porn industry so accessible that guys now are really savvy to what the industry wants. When they declare when being interviewed and I will use Skyler as an example that they have never heard of Broke Straight Boys and what its its about , then during filming they use their mobile to watch porn, it just doesn't ring true. These boys know exactly what they are doing, perhaps if they want to convince us that they are straight, a few acting lessons may not go amiss.

I think since Broke Straight Boys was created from the very start, this was and perhaps the most debatable argument if the boys are truly really straight. The answer to that questions is NO. The boys know what they are signing up for. When a boy applies to our studio, most of them don't read our job posting. It amazes me how they apply to a "porn site" and have no clue what they are applying for.

In Skyler's case, when he applied and he applied thinking that its a straight porn site...but when I did his initial phone interview and explained to him its male on male (I don't like using the term "gay porn" anymore because it freaks a lot of guys out) videos for website filming...I do go into details about filming. If the guy is truly straight, they are not interested. I 100% true straight guy is not going to film "gay porn" of any kind no matter how I or anyone explains it to them. We do get a lot of those type of guys applying. Just this week I interviewed a really HOT straight boy...and we've been going back and fourth in emails for the past two weeks. I know he needs the money but he refuses to have sex with another guy but he continues to contact me.

Then there are the guys that I consider bisexual (mentally in there mind they are straight)...they are either gay4pay, bi-curious (or just curious) and in normal cases, these are the prime guys...they will not have sex with a guy off screen but will do so for the money only. They are not interested in dating a guy or living the gay lifestyle. These guys have very limited porn experience, or none at all. They are not "porn professionals" and not seen all over the internet. If they did film porn, its a very simple scene like a solo, or handjob or a one-way blow job and perhaps one or two scenes if any scenes.

These boys are limited to what they want to do. Although they get paid well, they will not do and film gay scenes which is uncomfortable for them. For example: Kissing another guy, some are very hesitant to give blowjobs, most only want to top. They are mechanical in nature, and very limited in what they are willing to do with another guy on camera.

If I hire a guy, and all they do is kiss, rim another guy...suck cock like a pro, is a power bottom...in most cases, they are gay and in most cases they are not believable straight guys and in most cases have already filmed for other major porn sites doing normal gay porn filming.

These guys I hire are not actors...and not seasoned porn boys and not the usual crop of boys you see on other gay porn sites filming gay porn. Broke Straight Boys is a very odd site, its gay...its gay porn...but the niche and uniqueness to Broke Straight Boys is having a raw nervous inexperience boy film with very limited gay experience. Are they straight? No, not 100% are they gay...No...not 100%...so to call them gay...is not the correct term...Years ago I posted about the Kinsey Scale and I think Broke Straight Boys is a prime example of what the Kinsey Scale is all about when it comes to male sexuality. Its a very interesting debate and really makes for a very good conversation and I am expecting more of this debate to continue on this topic as I am no stranger to this and what make Broke Straight Boys very unique compared to other run of the mill porn sites.

I agree with most of what you’re saying. I do think it’s possible, however, that some straight guys don’t have hang ups on labels and are willing to do something they normally wouldn’t or have a desire to do for a lot of money. Especially at a young age. I’ve said this before on the forum a while back and it was ignored, but I don’t think any one of you would consider me bi-sexual or straight or even question my sexuality at all if I did a porn with a woman for money. I have absolutely no desire, no attraction to women whatsoever, but I could see myself doing it for money when I was younger. Straight males have always been treated differently. We don’t question straight women for doing lesbian porn. Why do we treat straight men differently? Just a thought

You are correct...many females would have sex with a female and they would consider themselves straight. I know many gay men that have had sex with females and they consider themselves gay. I am not sure about the age groups, but it seems to me that younger adults between the ages of 18-25yrs old, even up to 30yrs old are more willing to explore there sexuality.

I included a link below that talks about the Human sexuality in regards to the Kinsey Report Study.

If you have the time, its a very interesting read and great article about human sexuality. Its a very interesting topic on how human sexuality is so different between humans.

Rep and I have been having this discussion for years comparing and contrasting the social acceptance of male on male sex in ancient Greece with the strong social conditioning of modern society on all young boys to be straight. I thought that I was totally straight until my first sexual experience with a guy when I was 22, then thought that I was bi until age 25 and only came to conclusion that I preferred guys in my later 20s, although even today I could fuck an attractive female if I was so inclined. While I recognize now that I was checking out my fellow high school football players in the locker room, if you asked me back then, I would have strongly denied that as that is what I was socially conditioned to think. As much as I agree with the Kinsey scale, I think that, while it gets it right on past male sexual histories, even it understates the amount of same sex attraction out there, particularly with guys with 100% sexual experience with females who secretly have strong male on male attraction albeit not acted upon. Example, I have a brother-in-law who once stated that he could never conceive of going out for high school wrestling as the very thought of male on male physical contact repelled him. Clearly a totally straight heterosexual zero on the Kinsey scale. But most high school and college wrestlers are 100% straight in their sexual histories but love the physical contact with other male wrestlers (sometimes intimate contact when they grab the crotch of an opponent to turn him over or to build up riding time by keeping the opponent on his stomach with their sometimes hard cocks between the opponent's butt cheeks which they describe as "just part of the sport"). These are the Kinsey Scales ones and twos. I think that a minority of males are 100% totally straight and 100% totally gay, and that most males are bi at least in part in sexual attraction, albeit socially conditioned to deny it. Hopefully times are changing to give males less societal sexual oppression and more freedom to experiment and make an informed decision as to where they want to wind up sexually. Although, having said all this, I do recognize the reluctance of a young male in the process of thinking out where he wants to wind up sexually to be filmed having male on male sex with the internet preserving it forever! Still, while no Kinsey Scale 100% straight zero guys will ever do gay porn, there are a lot of totally straight in their sexual histories out there, who do have strong same sex attraction. Those are the potential "Broke Straight Boys"

I am thrilled to be reading this discussion and I largely agree with all three of you. I am thrilled because for the last period of time, with few exceptions, there was no need for this discussion as we were seeing experienced gay porn models here. And I am mainly thrilled that the person hiring the models and filming the scenes is looking for the exact thing that I am looking for in my viewing pleasure. In my opinion the future is very bright after a long dormant period for Broke Straight Boys!

Amen! A great discussion. Straight guys who basically are into, women will sometimes do gay sex for situational reasons. I’ve known guys who were into drugs who would do it for money and be more available when high or drunk than they normally would be. These guys insist on watching straight porn and go right back to their straight life style. I knew a very hot guy with a huge dick in Dallas. He rode a motorcycle and lived with a very hot girlfriend but he would go out and earn money for their meth habit by servicing the gay community. I didn’t know what to do with him the first time I met him because he was so straight but over time I liked fuck him. He put up with it. It was funny because he could tell when I came up his ass in my condom. I would give him some more strokes and he would know I was trying not to stop but in his mind the meter had run out. He would sort of arch his big muscular back and almost throw me off. I would get tickled . Time to stop. His name was Dan. He was a very compact butch ginger. His nickname in the gay community was muscle Dan. And he was popular with bottoms and cock suckers because of his big thick dick but I found you could fuck him if you were brace enough to try and I was back then. Lol. I moved out of Dallas but one time I was back in my old neighborhood and ran into him and the hot chick girlfriend Geneva. They both said high to me. Damn I wanted to suggest a trip to the Mens room for old time sake. He was definitely gay for pay. It was his job. He had the equipment and he learned how valuable it was.

A very interesting discussion that I am just now getting caught up on. The one thing I would add is in my experience there is another breed of young males that are so open about their go with the flow, doesn't matter if that attraction is for a man or a woman, they just do what feels good without putting a label on it.They don't consider themselves gay or straight or bi. Kind of like the free spirit of the flower children area.

I agree Mikeyank that this debate is needed. Also I thank David for backing up my argument, which I have been putting forward for months that totally straight guys wouldn't do porn at any cost. I think Male sexuality in 21st century is changing and is now more blurred than at anytime in our history, with social media , including porn sites contributing to this. I have noticed when I have people watched in bars and restaurants in the UK that the younger generation, that is to say anyone from late teens to mid 30s seem to be far more expressive in showing their feelings than when I was growing up. It certainly was frowned upon for guys to show each other displays of affection, indeed if you saw two guys kissing in the street it would have been a scandal, particularly as we Brits have a reputation for being reserved. Today however I see totally straight guys meeting up in pubs and they will greet each other with a kiss or a cuddle and be totally at home with doing this. With Covid-19, obviously this is much scaled back currently, but up to six months ago it very much was in evidence in London. The term metrosexual is often used to describe men in 21st century and I think it is true, we as a society are becoming more accepting of this, we still have a very long way to go for total equality but we have taken the first steps. However these displays of affection should not be seen as an indication of someone's sexuality. I applaud David's honesty when talking to up and coming models about what is expected of them and because of this I think we as the viewing public should always bear in mind that although our fantasy is a straight guy having sex with another guy, the reality is that they probably aren't.

Again both David and Foxyman have made some assertions with which I totally agree. I too for many years have been saying that no guy who is truly straight, (a Kinsey zero) has appeared on Broke Straight Boys for more than a solo or perhaps a mutual jerk off or possibly allowing another guy to go down on him. However even the straightest of the "regulars" over the years are somewhere on the spectrum of being closer to straight but not exclusively straight. And I use myself as an example as a totally homosexual man, a Kinsey 6, in that I never could have or would have appeared in a sex film with a female. It aint me. lol

David did use the term "believably straight", which I was first introduced to by a forumite called Abush11 many years ago. And that is all I ask for in my choice of models on Broke Straight Boys This site is not truly a "reality" site, but rather a "fantasy site", set in a reality format, (when it is being done correctly, in my opinion). And when David said, "If I hire a guy, and all they do is kiss, rim another guy...suck cock like a pro, is a power bottom...in most cases, they are gay and in most cases they are not believable straight guys and in most cases have already filmed for other major porn sites doing normal gay porn filming.", that is exactly how I feel and why I look forward so much to the changes happening on the site. My sexual fantasy has always been to have sex with straight guys and David's model's and scenarios fit right in with my fantasy!
