Are You Ready for the NEW BSB? (preview video)

Charming men of all ages into doing things that they would not have expected to do for him is Slim's specialty. Cough, cough... Is it surprising that few of us are immune to either his charms or intellectual powers of persuasion? haha  :001_wub:
Excellent point, Tampa. I too have now been seduced and coerced to confess by the charming Mr. Vintage. Much as with the Canadian Mounted Police, Slimvintage, "Always Gets 'his' Man".

Fuckin' A.

I've just been to see the late night showing of The King's Speech, it's one in the morning, and I can see that the reaction so far to the Jimmy video is quite interesting. A lot of people have been turned off, some quite seriously, by the initial premise of the guy with the cam ("my place is just around the corner") that you see in a lot of this kind of porn, even in several of the Broke Straight Boys bonus sites. As Jimmy bobbed into view I admit my heart sank a little since the device is so hackneyed, but since I really liked the voices of the two guys, and VERY much liked the jiggly camera (which was totally on purpose by the way: "would you mind getting out of the shadows?") I soon forgot that the very first benchmark episode by the new production company had been based on a very mildewed script. I soon forgot because so much of the rest of it was so well done.

I really want the cameraman eventually to get onto the forum. Not every day obviously, but sometimes. Also it would be very cool if he were otherwise savvy to what's being posted, and referred during the shoot to the site and maybe even to us. Unless it were considered cooler for him to be this stoner with a hardon and a roll of fifties in his jeans who doesn't even mention the site, and that's all we know about him. What do you guys think?

Just an initial reaction.
1. I am not going to comment on the models as they are just a continuing process of renewel.
2. I think the editing could have been a bit sharper eg the opening scene had Jimmy standing at the far end of the bridge until he got his queue to start walking. Makes it look like it is staged instead of being "natural".
3. I really wasn't "wowed" by the cash being flashed about, it just made it look all the more "phony".

Now having posted my initial reaction I have to say I do understand it is the 1st episode of the new team so there is going to be some learning to do & I am sure these little bumps will be ironed out as the team gains more experience with the style of Broke Straight Boys

Looking forward to the future.

All excellent points, but please keep in mind that according to Blu they've been working on their debut of 2.0. for months, I think for almost a year, and they chose this specific scene as the flagship, inaugural statement. They've filmed at least a few episodes for sure, they can't be flying by the seat of their pants from one week to the next. So unless they are doing this right off the wall, which I don't believe, this was a conscious, canny, commercial move by people with some professional savvy.

I don't think they realized we know that shooting exteriors with a cruise cam is a cinematic porn device that's been done to death. It's a very handy tool to get a casual recruit from the street to the futon in about 138 seconds, but it kills all the tingle of reality.

All the rest of it is actually very promising. And they know something we don't. I think what it is, is that Jimmy ("The Trip") is going to turn out to be really amusing in the next couple of scenes and that we'll have completely forgotten about the dumb (although rather beautiful) opening shot of Broke Straight Boys 2.0. by the time the fucking starts.
