Hey Dave, I know you had asked me the same questions in a previous thread when I complained about non-stop scenes with Austin and CJ.
I apologize that I didn't get a chance to reply to your request for feedback/suggestions until now -- on this thread -- and I will attempt to address it here.
If you're referring to me as being the member you had asked to provide suggestions/feedback who has not replied back to you, I apologize. BUT, I didn't bash management though, if I'm the member you're referring to.
I would like to state first and foremost that my issue wasn't with Austin and CJ per se, but mainly I have never been a fan of CJ and would have never said anything about him except for the fact that it seemed like he was in scene after scene after scene non-stop until the conversion to HD. And with Austin, I would have never complained about him being in non-stop scenes if not for the fact that he has been plastered across every other gay paysite out there, so he has just become completely over-exposed/over-saturated is all.
But Dave, you totally resolved my concerns when you explained that there will be no more scenes with CJ, or Austin, which makes me happy.
I am now a 100% satisfied member.
I would like to respond here, to some of your other questions that you had in my previous thread:
- Models who venture beyond Broke Straight Boys and perform for other paysites: Personally, as a member of many other paysites, I do not want to see the same models performing in all the other paysites. Once they start studio-hopping, it rapidly becomes extremely boring and unexciting to watch them in scenes. Especially since every site out there has their own particular format, and niche. It becomes completely unbelievable when a mode goes from being a
Broke Straight Boys to a week later, he is seen being hazed at a college frat hazing site, to being picked up in a van and "coerced" into fucking a guy in the van as it drives around Southern Florida 3 days later, then he's seen yet again being coerced into fucking a guy who is the "bait" the next day, then a couple days later he's back on
Broke Straight Boys again, and the cycle continues non-stop for a year.
I have no problem whatsoever seeing the same guys over and over again on
Broke Straight Boys, as long as they don't go all over the place to the other paysites!
I could NEVER get sick of
Diesal, Ty,
Logan, and many others on
Broke Straight Boys, if they were in scenes every week! But the second they start going to the other paysites, where I will see and recognize them immediately, I then have no more reason to watch their scenes if/when they meander back over to
Broke Straight Boys One, it gets boring seeing them portray different versions of themselves across the various paysites, and two it ruins the fun of watching them perform on
Broke Straight Boys as a "broke" "straight" guy when they come back.
As the old saying goes, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you're going to start studio hopping, fine, but don't expect to find anymore work at
Broke Straight Boys if you do is the way it should be in my opinion.
- Exclusives: I think exclusives are great, as long as they honor the agreement! I know that one of the pioneer paysites out there who goes by the intials of CF, seems to use exclusives, exclusively. If any of their models start studio hopping, you suddenly never see anymore of them again on CF. And in my opinion, that's the way it should be! An example would be Ryan Rockford. He was a huge favorite on CF, but all of a sudden he showed up in scenes on another old paysite out there, and he was OFF Corbin Fisher for good. But this has lead them to completely over-using some of their oldest models (e.g. Lucas) for years now, and are still trying to portray him as a "straight" "college frat dude". Even though that was believable in 2005, it's no longer believable in 2010 when Lucas is still in scene after scene with both girls and guys, and he now looks like he's in his 30's, yet they still seem to think that we the viewers will buy that Lucas is straight, and still in college. My God I've heard of flunking out of college, but Lucas should have 3 PhDs by now as long as they've been putting him in scenes.
It's PERFECTLY FINE and AWESOME to bring back some of the popular models who haven't been seen in awhile, as long as that model has not been all over the place and seen by all the other studios' cameras over the years. One or two scenes here or there by other studios is ok, as long as they haven't become totally over-exposed and overly used by every site/studio known to man (i.e. Austin).
- Solos: I agree with Dave here, 100%. I, like many other people, find solos boring too. HOWEVER, as Dave mentioned, how else are you going to introduce one of the new guys? The solo scene is the perfect way to introduce one of the new guys. It warms him up to the camera, gets him used to getting naked, showing his body to everyone, getting used to getting hard and jacking off, and warms him up to what is sure to come next in later scenes. It also gives us the viewers the chance to get excited about seeing him in upcoming scenes where he does more and more! It whets our appetite, and gets us anxious and to the point where we can't wait till the next update that he will be in, as long as it's someone we like. And let's face it guys,
Broke Straight Boys has done a great job getting models that we as the viewing audience love. For the most part, we love a lot of these guys. Not just the way they look, but we also love the way they act, and we always comment about what we like about the guys beyond what they look like. Many of you watch the entire scenes and love watching the banter between the guys, Dave, and everyone else. So even though many of us prefer action scenes to solo scenes, no one can accuse
Broke Straight Boys of putting out too many solo scenes because they usually only do it when it's a new guy who hasn't performed any action scenes yet.
Dave, if you were to ask my opinion on what would I do? I would let all models know that they are welcome to get work at other studios, but if they venture beyond Blu Media/D&E Entertainment, they will not be coming back for anymore work for you guys.
The whole premise behind
Broke Straight Boys is that they are amateur, straight, and broke. If they are seen on other sites, many of the
Broke Straight Boys members who belong to other sites simply won't buy it if they try to come back to
Broke Straight Boys, and will get annoyed and mad having to see them again after seeing them in other scenes on other studios' sites. Plain and simple.
- Future new models: So if it becomes a matter of "well where will I find new models to replace them?"
Beef up new model recruitment, and bring in new models that have never been seen before. Take advantage of affiliate programs with other sites, and NOT gay sites! Advertise on the straight sites, who cater to 100% straight guys, advertising for $$$ to new models who are willing to get into porn by starting with gay porn! That's how some of the now straight porn stars have started out in the business (i.e. Seth Gamble). And not just mainstream paysites via affiliate programs, but also places like xtube, etc.
I know of one gay paysite out there, where he recruits most of his new talent, by surfing the chat rooms and cam sites, and entices many HOT HOT HOT straight guys (many of them military) to come over to his studio, and get sucked by him, then fuck him, etc.
Maybe there are referral programs that could be started too, where guys who are not in the business at all refer potential new models to your site. Potential new models wouldn't necessarily have to venture down to your studios, maybe they could submit their own audition clips or something for you to review, before they would be contacted and invited to come down for an actual audition.
There are so many millions of hot, straight, broke guys out there who are willing to do make a name for themselves, you just have to know where to look.
But if a site resorts to hiring models back who have been around the block many times on other sites, it seems to indicate that little to no effort has been made to recruit fresh, new talent.
But I for one am very pleased with the new HD content, and I completely disagree with the member who is complaining about the solos, because
Broke Straight Boys does NOT force too many solos onto us, they are usually limited to the new guys who haven't been seen in action scenes yet.
Dave, does this answer your questions that you asked me in a different thread on what I would do? Also, if you were referring to me as the member who hasn't replied back to you yet, please clarify that you were mistaken when you said I had bashed management. Because if that was your perception, my intent was to provide feedback; not to just complain or bash management.
