What's Life Like in New York City?

With all of the above said, there are some of the classic towers I just photographed this morning.

And finally in the back of Hunt’s Lane, I spotted a water tower overshadowed by one of those high rise luxury towers being built in downtown Brooklyn.

The ”lanes” are dead end streets that once were carriage houses for the horses of the aristocracy who lived on the main streets.

Here is a description of one of the houses on this dead end street. “The dead-end street known as Hunts Lane in Brooklyn Heights is a charming mews lined with former horse stables built in the 19th-century. One such carriage house, 4 Hunts Lane, is on the market for $5.5 million, and it might just be the most beautiful on the street. In addition to its gorgeous modern interiors, the four-bedroom home has a one-car garage, artist’s studio, and soaring sky-lit spaces in the former hayloft. ”

I walk past Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn Heights on my way to the subway. On my way home tonight I stopped to photograph the beautiful garden out front.

Today it is a private prep school for grades pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Originally founded in 1845 as Brooklyn Female Academy.

He is a view of the Gothic Revival style building from early this evening.

TY for stopping and photographing the garden, Mike.

Today has been a spectacular weather day in New York City with a forecast of rain for the next few days, so I took advantage of the beautiful day and went into Manhattan and to The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Fifth Avenue right outside of Central Park. Here are some pics.

First on the way from the Lexington Avenue subway, I took a few pics on Park Avenue and then along East 86th Street approaching Fifth Avenue and the museum.

And now the Broke Straight Boys portion of my day in DUMBO. Washington Street seems to be the main tourist spot for Instagram pics with the view of the opening of the Manhattan Bridge with the Empire State Building showing in the opening. Tourists flock for photo opportunities like this one.
