The Virtual Coffee Shop, Diner And Corner Pub

I just watched a terrific movie on Netflix called, “Don’t Look Up”. It is part political satire and part sci-fi thriller. The cast is wonderful starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Adriana Grande, Meryl Streep as the President of the United States, Jonah Hill as her son and chief of staff and Timothée Chalamet who I didn’t recognize when I first saw him as a skateboarder who takes on an integral part as the plot develops. I found myself laughing and cringing as the story went on. I am not a big movie guy, but I heard them talking about it this morning on Morning Joe and I’m glad I watched it this evening.

That does look really good Mikey. :)

Well I am off to bed, early today as for some bloody reason am tired and fortuitously finished early. just wanted to say Cheers for those who remember where that comes from. Does anyone know what the multiple meaning of the Hebrew word Shalom means. It is the perfect word here.

Oh yes and then there is this: a cock and ass a day keeps the doctor at bay.

I hope this was an “open book exam” as I cheated on Wikipedia. “Shalom (Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם shalom; also spelled as sholom, sholem, sholoim, shulem) is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility and can be used idiomatically to mean both hello and goodbye”.

Also glad that you got your work done before bedtime. I hope you slept like a baby, br. lolololol.

Well for me it means the 1960's . There was another well known oldster that departed this flawed earth yesterday who scarily was just four years my senior, scary reminder that I have to keep on pace with with cock & ass jaunt!

Yes it was, Tampa . I like the term see you later best as a reminder we will met again.

For those who may not know, Tampa is about to undergo critical eye surgery, please keep him in your thoughts

I posted this in the professional & college sports thread but thought this might open a few awakening eye here, too:

Mike I had you in mind when I posted it in this thread:biggrin:

I am not a soccer fan, but I certainly know Renaldo. My original purpose in starting the Hot Professional & Sports guys thread was to highlight the guys who I watch play. I love my favorite sports teams whether the guys look good or not, but when a hot guy plays for one of my teams or on an opponent, it has always “aroused” my attention. And so it is the guys who I see play and know who they are that I find of most interest.

It is much like why I like Broke Straight Boys above all other sites. Here we get to know who the models are as people and they are not just anonymous porn guys. Like the guys I used to see every day at my job who were hot and I would imagine what they look like naked and having sex. I am most definitely a voyeur and Broke Straight Boys porn, (when it’s done correctly, as David does), and seeing guys I watch on sports teams in revealing outfits or just highlighting their beauty are what turns me on. But like my late friend Johnny used to say…..”That’s just me”. :001_rolleyes:

Broke Straight Boys if important to me but was not my first site. The net opened to the public in the late 90's . The first and oldest top gay catering site is Boy Fun. I was with them from day one & with Broke Straight Boys back in the first year as with Helix a once top site & some others. I know the top people there as yo do here. Yes Broke Straight Boys is unique because there is no language problem Note I did not say communication. I think you know why. I love BF & this site not Bel Ami or Helix. Now that I have grown to know you I have come to respect you as Tampa said I would after not the beat of starts which I take full blame for. I look forward to us getting to known each other more & more. I always look forward to reading what you say regardless whether we agree oir not & I must say we do agree a lot.

Oh yes on another matter is the sport of cricket which I know little of & their attire does not lend itself to showing the athlete's body at its finest. I like to meander from time to time. For one thing it create a bit of confusion.

I was trying to find the right thread to say this. Right now I am showing Sgt. Swann's Private Files with Glenn Swann & Rick Donovan in the first scene. Those who have watched much porn from the 1980's are aware of both. One has to commend Swann as a pioneer in the use of condoms after the advent of AIDS. Donovan as a popular top, the jock Swann seemed to be an exclusive bottom. The more I delve & often re-watch the more I wonder about the men not as players but as people. What became of them, what they think if alive of the technology & field today? Any responses would be much appreciated.

Have you done any internet searches br? Big porn stars like them often are referenced on Wikipedia or the like. I would start with a google search.

On another subject, you mentioned on another thread that you spent a decade living overseas. You had once said that you would post on the 10 Random Things About Me thread.

https://members.brokestraightboys.c...-facts-about-you/page167&highlight=Ten+random

You seem to have lived a very interesting life, going to college in NYC in the early 70’s, marrying and having three children, living in San Diego and in Europe too apparently. You’ve also mentioned a companion who you had in your life. I know you like to post pictures on this forum, but speaking at least for myself, I enjoy finding out about the people on the forum. And like Stowe and Peter, and many other forumites from the past, you were married at one time and have children. Guys who at one time lived the straight life and eventually realized that their true inclinations were towards men fascinate me.

Obviously you should protect your real identity but speaking in general terms either on the 10 Random Facts thread, or here on the Virtual Coffehouse thread would be a good place to tell us a but more about your life if you choose. If you’d rather not talk about your personal life, that is cool too. Just a thought.

I am an open book, both the good and bad. No, I lived and worked as a government employee but kept my US citizen, even though I served in the reserves as a grubby private ( not swearing in). During the time there we invaded Lebanon and were welcomed into that beautiful but troubled land. I got my PH D there at the urging of my boss. Had I stayed I could have become a big fish in my field but personal issues ( divorce, my ex took the kids back to US in the middle of the night made me return. Am I sorry no, with out following my path I would not be where I am for better or worse. It seems that for every good thing a worse thing came after in many cases ( looking back it may not have been as bad as I once thought. For example just because cancer took my body I beat it & became disabled so did not have to work. Of course my own wrong decisions cause the end of my career & forced me into manual labor jobs. When trying to get a better job got the usual over qualified response. Those are some high & low points. Just a few that come to mind. One other thing, some people are born with luck others not so but given enough gifts we can achieve greater thing. One point as an example, being told I did not have the ability to get my doctorate & proving the nay sayers wrong was great. On the other hand losing my career because I arrogantly thought I could help someone not ready to help himself was why I landed in San Diego taught me a bitter lesson. Mind YOU I have only myself to blame. That gives a few high & low points. I will stop before I bore you any more nor do I want any sympathy, as I said I try to be as honest as I can.

Please forgive me for being so long winded, I usually am not.

I asked for details and so I appreciate what you wrote. Please don’t apologize. All of our lives are a journey, and speaking for myself, I have found that strife can prepare us for future opportunities that become a plus. For example in 2004, my lifetime job of thirty plus years came to an end and for the first time since I was eighteen had to find a job. I found a job becoming an outside salesman driving around the five boroughs of New York City trying to sell my companies goods. I was a terrible salesman as it was not what I was accustomed to doing.

But for one thing, I got to see parts of the city I had no clue about. In my semi-retirement I starting going on walking tours discovering more about the neighborhoods I discovered during my salesman years. The walking tours have become a fun part of my current life. And more importantly, after retiring from full time work, I started working part time in the office using skills that I had gained at my original job. And I have no pressure now, as I don’t work for the money but rather for the enjoyment of it, and giving my week a regular routine. And I provide skills for my company that no one else there have. It is a win win situation.

Mike, thank you for sharing. Frankly I am more than busy these days . I have been getting to bed far later than I should. As you can see I have been talking more. I love posting and we all are blessed to have KG with his skills. I hope Tampa will be back soon he helps keep me honest in my posts & Mike your original sports thread may not be what you intended but it is a very vibrant thread & will continue in to the far future.
