I mentioned that young people seem to take for granted their physical gifts. I was born with great eyes but abusing them in reading in a dark room as a kid to escape getting caught & in the pursuit of science in my twenties had a great affect. So now I need reading glasses which work find but today I noticed reading my emails they had stopped working. I discovered I was moving my eyes upward to read my screen when typing rather than my face. I say all that in the hopes it might help some one else.

Obviously the AIDS epidemic devastated the gay community. It has been discussed on this forum many times in the past and many described losing friends on a horrifying basis and attending funeral after funeral. It is a very dark period from our not so distant past.
TY Mike, just remember some like myself are newbies and don't have the inclination to look back. But because of Jon King amd others from that era it has come to the fore for me &such events must be spoken about often. It is true of all holocausts that have such a devastating affects on mankind. It is also painfully true forgetting the past inevitably leads to repeating it.

For members of the gay community of a certain age who remember the AIDS era, the COVID pandemic has been eerily similar in some ways, with fear changing our way of life, but affecting everyone and not just one segment of society.
That is so true but with one major difference or rather two. First it was called a gay illness for way too long with all that entailed & two it w wasted the body before causing death. Covid as bad as it is does not do that.
As is often the case when you devote yourself to what I like to think is a worthy topic in this case vintage pre-condom male videos & dig into the men who did it for a living & also because they loved doing it you can begin to get attached to some of the players. 'Nasty' scammer had sex with men he met on the dating app Grindr then blackmailed and robbed them
A 28-year-old British man has been jailed for five years for blackmailing and robbing nine men he met on the LGBTQ hook-up app Grindr, police said.
Anouar Sabbar, from south London, England, scammed his victims by arranging to have consensual sex with them and telling them that he was an escort afterward, London's Metropolitan Police said.
Sabbar would edit his Grindr profile after the hook-up, police said, updating it to include reference to a £180-an-hour ($243-an-hour) fee for escorting services.
He then demanded the money, according to police, and threatened one of the victims with violence if he refused to pay. According to BBC News, Sabbar told the man: "They are coming. I didn't want to do this to you, but it looks like we will have to break your face."
The 28-year-old threatened to out another victim to his girlfriend with screenshots of their conversation if he didn't pay, police said.
Once he got the money, Sabbar blocked the victim's profiles on the app to make it harder for him to be traced. Police said that he regularly changed SIM cards, phone numbers, and hairstyle to make him harder to identify.

In total, the Metropolitan Police said that Sabbar stole £2,360 ($3,199) from nine men between April 2019 and June 2021. He also stole jewelry from his victims, whose ages varied from 25 to 57-years-old.
Sabbar was arrested with his girlfriend in a hotel in July 2021. He pleaded guilty to robbery, theft, five counts of blackmail, and five counts of fraud on November 8, 2021.
He was sentenced to five years in jail on Thursday.
Detective Inspector Arif Sharif of the Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "The victims, in this case, have been incredibly brave in coming forward and reporting the offenses Sabbar committed against them.
"Sabbar is a nasty and spineless individual who used Grindr to target victims and used their vulnerabilities against them."
Detectives are appealing to other people who may have been exploited by him to come forward.

I honestly am not as familiar as I should be with young celebrities today. The guy in the top row middle with the beautiful eyes, looks like Zack Efron, but I’d think he’d be older today. The kid on the bottom row right is stunningly handsome but the one I know and love is Shawn Mendes, so I will keep him.
