I don't disagree at all with your premise that the porn scenes are the main driver of conversation in the forum. As for whether or not we had one scene per week in October of 2008 when the forum was first introduced to the site, I did some research. And I was wrong. But not about the number of updates. I was wrong about it changing to 3 updates per week in early 2009. It was actually later in August of 2009. Mark gave us the heads up in July of 2009 of the upcoming change. But the thrice weekly updates didn't start until August of 2009. I'm also pretty certain that the Robert and Alden series did not have an episode in October of 2008.

Here's the thread where Mark made the announcement that he was increasing our updates to 3 times per week. And in the thread my straight boyfriend Chuck teased us that there were gonna be a lot of sore dicks around here since we would soon be getting 3 episodes a week going forward. haha

I've been saying that the forum is driven by the scenes but even with a before the scene on Saturday followed by a scene yesterday, not many are talking about it. The scene thread has four replies. Even last Sunday's scene with Gino only has 12 replies a week later. This is not what it used to be like around "these here parts".

I checked out the before the scene on Saturday night for "Army Boy" and decided not to comment. I did fast forward through the actual scene yesterday and it was kind of what I expected, "not my cup of tea", to use an old man expression for obvious reasons. lol No offense to David & Eddie or to the models but it is not what I enjoy on Broke Straight Boys But as an old friend used to say.....that's just me.

Our weekly new scene is due out today and so perhaps there will be some conversation about it. We did not have the "before the scene" yesterday, but perhaps moving forward there will be a before and after to garner some interest on three consecutive days. Last week's scene, "Army Boy Action" scene thread only had nine replies and the scene itself is currently rated at 3.87 and so I guess there was not that much overall interest.

Until a couple of years ago, the forum was divided into three sections, one for Broke Straight Boys related discussions regarding scenes, models and the bonus sites. The second was for the models to post and talk with us and answer questions and the third which was on top was "non porn" related discussions. They have been merged into one all encompassing "Everything Under The Sun" forum. Lately 99% of the discussions here would have been on the old upper forum for non porn related discussion. That used to be the filler chat and now it is basically the only chat going on here.

If I didn't care, I would have left long ago when the models hired and the porn rarely turned me on any more but I do care. Whenever I log on my computer or check my iPad, the first thing I do is click on "New Posts" on the Broke Straight Boys forum. I am very much creature of habit and always hope there will be Broke Straight Boys related talk, current models and scenes, past models, and what our thoughts are regarding the scenes and models.

I guess you can't put the genie back in the bottle but I keep wishing and hoping for something to least somewhat resemble the days of Broke Straight Boys-1 when David was doing the original theme and then to Broke Straight Boys-2 when Clay hired a slew of good looking usually very believably straight guys having some very hot sex as well as great behind the scenes features where we got to know the guys off the porn set. And we had models posting and chatting with us on the forum. But I am sticking with the forum as it brought me so much pleasure and allowed me to meet some fabulous people from all over the US and the world. So despite my misgivings about the current state of things here, much like the Brokeback Mountain duo, I'm not going anywhere lol .......

I remember when New Coke was the great new thing! Every bottle I drank, I couldn't help wondering why it didn't taste the way I remembered it would taste.
That was the intent. It was intended to taste different and it did. Then we saw the original Coke return. And the real taste was back.

I am going to be honest Mikeyank I have found little to comment on recently, although I do still read the forum. I am not a fan of the way filming scenes has happened over the past six months and don't enjoy this style of scene. Saying that the recent scenes are far better now that the chat has been seperated from the scene and you can choose to listen to the chat if you wish. With more models like Jos Alvarez, Masyn Thorne and Lucas returning to filming scenes, for me there is a sense that both new style of scenes and old style of scenes are being edited to try and please as many members as possible and this has to be applauded.

Speaking for myself only I find the selection of models during Covid to just not be my cup of tea. I welcome the return of models such as Jos Alvarez, Masyn Thorne, etc. Yet I'm still hoping and waiting for the return of others from the past, or at least a fresh selection of newer models that might be more appealing to me. But that's not something I'm casting any fault or blame over. David is doing the the best he can with the Covid constraints fate has handed to him and all of us. The fact that we're safely getting any new updates at all, is an accomplishment in itself. Hooray! I'm happy to see that for the sake of the models, the staff and the site overall.

To use an analogy, due to circumstances totally beyond their control our favorite restaurant has been forced to drastically streamline operations and go to a very limited menu. Many of our previous favorite choices aren't offered now. Given all that, it's not productive (or polite) at all to call the chef, the staff or the owner(s) out to the dining room to vociferously complain, demand immediate changes, or even threaten to take our business elsewhere. If it's a favorite restaurant and we adore the staff, the servers and everyone...we continue to patronize the establishment and stay loyal to that restaurant and staff, give them our support, (with a minimum of negative feedback under the circumstances) and patiently wait until those outside circumstances impeding their work change for the better. Then they can go back to their full and more diverse menu so we'll enjoy the food there even more once again.

Just wanted to mention how disappointing this forum has become. Even when we have a highly rated scene, as last week’s Darron & Elliot scene was, there was very little discussion regarding the scene. The forum has become 99% picture threads which can be nice “filler” between scene days but should not be the focus of the Broke Straight Boys forum in my opinion. We used to have two sections to the forum, (actually three when there was a thread for the models to post), but aside from that we had site talk, regarding all the BluMedia sites, (Broke Straight Boys, College Boy Physicals, Boy Gusher, College Dudes) and a separate section for non-site related conversation, be it politics, entertainment, and cultural discussions and yes, picture threads. I started a number of picture threads including Hot Celebrities, Hot Celebrity Sons and even threads about my “crushes”, Justin Bieber and Sean Mendes to mention a few. I also started the original Hot College & Professional Athletes thread to “occasionally” highlight hot guys who play for teams that I follow or who play for opposing teams, but that thread got turned into something else and so I stopped posting on it or even looking at it, except to clear the old posts so I can see what are new posts. My point is that kind of stuff is great filler between scenes or discussions about models, but I find it boring all by itself with no “meat”, so to speak. In fact, when I check into the forum today, I am reminded of an old hamburger advertising campaign.

Yeah, I admit that I don't comment that much anymore. Lost interest for the most part. I usually start threads for new scenes and I can't even gather up the strength to do it any longer. Theres a new before scene up at this moment, and I can't be bothered. I miss repareur, Stowe, petefromsaintpete, StudddAndy, Foxy, and I miss Blueplaid's Ryan Pitt threads...LMAO. I know I'm leaving others out and I apologize.....these are just members we haven't heard from in a very long time. No offense to anyone but it's just a few of us left commenting, and while I love everyone, I need MORE.....if that makes sense. We do have quite a few new forum members and I hope they'll speak out more, and I hope models like Charlie will speak out more and hang out with us.

Yes. Talk about models you like and talk about models you dislike. But please always be tactful and respectful in criticism as these are often young guys down on their luck who turn to porn to get some money. But talking about the site, both present and past is what the forum was designed for. It gives us the opportunity to share our thoughts and hear the thoughts of fellow members, sometimes all around the world. To paraphrase a former president, who I am not a fan of, “Make the Broke Straight Boys Forum Great Again”. lol

As a new user I find the forum quite 'daunting'. Everything seems to lumped into Everything Under The Sun and I have no interest in going through hundreds of pages to find something interesting. Perhaps there could be some categories to divide things up, for example, a section where models themselves post, a suggestions section sub divided into fantasy and practical
