I have another friend who used to be very active on the forum has the same issue. He says that while he can post with his iphone it is a pain to do so he just stopped posting. Me being both old fashioned and just plain old just use my key board at my desk to post and post and post and post............lol

I guess with just one scene a week there is not much to talk about regarding Broke Straight Boys I sure hope that the vaccine will lead to more scenes which will breathe some oxygen into this forum....I hope.

Yes. I remember back in the day when forums online were much fewer, that we had very active and lively conversations on multiple non-porn subjects. And that was back when we got only one update per week. Because of that past experience I still see the forum as a great but currently under-utilized resource. There are plenty of other interesting subjects we could be discussing in between porn scene releases.

I thought the forum started when we were getting at least two updates a week if not three. I guess I could go back to the episodes tab and figure out how often they updated when the forum started.

But to me the porn should be what is compelling. To use a metaphor the porn on Broke Straight Boys is the “meat” of this forum. Politics and cute guys are the side dishes. You know Tampa that our friend in Amsterdam gave us a forum to chat on, but my feeling is that without scenes as we have here, there was no particular focus. Here when a new scene is released is the important part of the week here for me. The rest is just filler or “hamburger helper” to stay with my metaphor.

I did check and when the forum started in October 2008 we were already getting three scenes a week, which included two scenes introducing one of my all time favorite duos in the history of Broke Straight Boys, Robert & Alden. On October 8, we first same Alden.

And then three days later on October 11, we saw the two supposedly straight college dorm mates together, Robert & Alden.

But then apparently there was more time between scenes with the following scenes on 10/18 and 10/25 followed by 11/1. Then the next week we got three scenes again, 11/5, 11/8 and 11/12.

Whatever the pattern was with more scenes and more boys being introduced and being paired together made for more interest and more chatting on the forum. Perhaps those days are gone forever but I sure loved Broke Straight Boys and the forum back then. Maybe it's just me, getting older and pining for the "good old days" but whatever it is it sure is different today.

Peter, as I’ve said hundreds of times there is no good or bad or right or wrong in porn. It is all in the eyes and dicks of the beholder. The four scenes with Alden & Robert totally worked and aroused me as few others in the decade since they were released. They were both very much my kind of guys, but even more important for me was that they fulfilled a fantasy of mine of getting to have sex with a fellow college buddy from the dorm. And of course David worked his magic of getting me to believe that I was watching two straight guys off on a Florida Spring Break fulfilling my fantasy from my college days.

My other favorite pairings of David from those days of believably straight pairs of friends were Mike Robbins & Josh and Zakk & Kyler. Great stuff for me.

I have as well. Mikeyank is correct that the Forum really gets slow between new scenes being posted, and due to the virus we are down to one scene per week (although the Vintage and College Boy Physicals scenes are worth checking out). When Broke Straight Boys returns to 2-3 updates per week, the Forum will pick up as well.

I have to gently and respectfully differ with you Mikey on the timing of release for the much older scenes. I get that you are going by the dates given. But I submit that many of those earlier dates are wrong and are now fiction. Somebody went back and through benign confusion I'm guessing, changed the release dates on many of the earlier videos. For whatever reason my guess is that they decided that the previous dates must have been all wrong since they didn't jibe with a 3 episodes per week schedule. And they retroactively changed it to look like we had always had 3 updates per week. But we didn't have 3 in the beginning. I know for a fact when I joined in October of 2008 that we only got one update per week. And it was always only on Friday nights.

That's why Slimvintage and many of the rest of us scoured the bonus sites and did critiques of scenes on that good French Canadian porn site (among others) in the bonus section. Something happened and that one favorite site of Slim's later got dropped from the lineup. But we talked about bonus section scenes so often back then because it gave us some porn material to talk about in between our one weekly update on the main site. My mental sharpness may have declined somewhat in the last 12+ years. But I haven't gone senile yet. haha I'm pretty sure that it was early in 2009 that we went from one update per week to 3 updates per week.

I was wrong about it changing to 3 updates per week in early 2009. It was actually later in August of 2009. Mark gave us the heads up in July of 2009 of the upcoming change. But the thrice weekly updates didn't start until August of 2009. I'm also pretty certain that the Robert and Alden series did not have an episode in October of 2008.

Here's the thread where Mark made the announcement that he was increasing our updates to 3 times per week. And in the thread my straight boyfriend Chuck teased us that there were gonna be a lot of sore dicks around here since we would soon be getting 3 episodes a week going forward. haha

Thanks Tampa for finding that thread. I loved seeing the models and most of all the forumites of the past, plus you and another1 from the present, who posted on that thread.

However my basic point remains as the difference between October 2008 and August 2009 is only ten months. So you are technically correct with the specific dates, but my point is that for most of these past eleven years we’ve gotten very used to three scenes a week which has been the driving force for the success of the forum. And hopefully we will return to that point somewhere in the near future.
