Membership site forum - dead as a door nail

Forgive me boys. I thought jon's post was from tampa.( about the Kool-Aid ) Should not post till I am full awake.
And then even then sometimes.

I agree Jon. Tyler did post some deep and thought provoking things here in the forum. He was/is quite intelligent. His posts did not go the typical route of self-promotion. Often he wrote as an employee and representative of the company, rather than as a model trying to gain more fans.

Kool-Aid is a flavored powdered that you mix with water and a cup of sugar to make a tasty sweet drink. It's quite good!

To understand the historical baggage and reference to the term "drinking the Kool-Aid" would take some time to explain. It would also pull the thread way off topic. Which is one of the things you supposedly abhor. haha I'm off to a doctor appointment. Maybe I'll explain it later or somebody else can.
Google Jim Jones and the Jonestown massacre and you will understand the pop culture reference, "drinking the kool-aid".

Quote

When it was announced that Ryan was dead, Jones became more urgent and more heated. Jones urged the congregation to commit suicide by saying, "If these people land out here, they'll torture some of our children here. They'll torture our people, they'll torture our seniors. We cannot have this."
Jones told everyone to hurry. Large kettles filled with grape flavored Flavor-Aid (not Kool-Aid), cyanide, and Valium were placed in the open-sided pavilion.
Babies and children were brought up first. Syringes were used to pour the poisoned juice into their mouths. Mothers then drank some of the poisoned punch.
Next went other members. Some members were already dead before others got their drinks. If anyone wasn't cooperative, there were guards with guns and crossbows to encourage them. It took approximately five minutes for each person to die.
On that day, November 18, 1978, 912 people died from drinking the poison, 276 of whom were children. Jones died from a single gunshot wound to the head, but it is unclear whether or not he did this himself.
Only a handful or so people survived, either by escaping into the jungle or hiding somewhere in the compound. In total 918 people died, either at the airport or at the Jonestown compound."

Guess Kool Aid is much less toxic these days lol

I warned you Jon that a seemingly simple question like that would drag the thread off topic. haha

But thank you to Mikey for answering it. :) If you recall Jon, Slimvintage and I didn't see eye-to-eye on Tyler. Slim was a fanatical diehard fan who put Tyler (in my opinion, lol) on a pedestal of adoration and near worship-like status. So he and I used to joke in here and tease each other that he had drunk the kool-aid (as in going off the deep end), whereas I had not.

He was still a happy camper though adoring Tyler to this day no doubt. :)

Well, we had a dead period on the forum this past February and then things picked up again but we seem to be back to no or few new posts each day. Have most of the former members quit or just lost interest in posting? I keep checking for new posts but find little, but I will stick it out and see what develops. I'm not thrilled with the stills of the new solo performer coming up tonight, but I am most interested in the upcoming Abram & Brady scene, so perhaps that will spark a bit of interest. Time will tell.

I wonder why? In my few years on the Forum I have never seen it this bad. Is it loss of interest? Even people that normally post are not posting.

Has everyone left? So many, near all the models we loved are gone or going. Is it all the supposed Straight models turn out to be Gay?

Is it hearing the same thing from management ? Not much. They did redo the awful set.

There are a few fun new models. Not like it was but everything changes. I have a life but I do miss the Forum. My own little private place I could sneak off too. So I just wonder Why? Wish people would post and tell us why your not posting. Hate to lose the Forum. I enjoyed it.

Changes are a bitch. But I just find it Sad...

I was thinking the same thing myself, johnny. In the last 2 weeks things were buzzing on both forums. Then just like that, nothing much on either one. Same people not posting much. I guess it's just the ebb and flow of what's going on in private lives, topics of interest, etc. One thing which seems to enhance posting is some degree of controversy; but then when that happens there are those who say the forums should have no controversy. We can't have it both ways.

Indeed Stowe,

It is quite the irony. Controversy is quite the double-edged sword. A few people who stir up controversy, putdowns, and the like where many times it was not deserved or warranted, have actually driven away members of the forum who would have preferred to stay. The forum has lost many such people over the last 3-4 years.

It seems to me that controversy works best in stirring up lively and intelligent conversation when all sides of passionate divides can share their differences on issues of our time (whether they be large or rather small in the grand scheme of things) without putting other members down in the process. Controversy can be great and educational when many viewpoints can be shared without fear of personal attack or intimidation.

I miss the posting of the models and the site leaders Mark and Sha. Communicating with the models about their scenes was a lot of fun. The behind the scenes stuff from Sha and Mark are also interesting. The videos should stand alone and prompt discussion, but we have seen the inconsistency of the content and I think that directly impacts the volume of posting. It was announced Cage Kafig is leaving, but even that bit of news did not sparked any comments.

I don't quite understand what you're saying here, tampa. What is an example of a controversy where many times it was not deserved or warranted? I can understand putdowns and the like not being deserved or warranted. A perfect example of the latter is noblegg and some of the truly horrible things he said about people that were personal attacks. But I am more than willing to use myself as an example of the former. I was raised to tell it like it is, with the bullshit factor being kept to a minimum if used at all. That direct approach some people take personally when it is not personal but pertains to a differing view or an opinion someone else has on a topic. As a result of my Jesuit training, I try to steer clear assiduously of ad hominem verbiage. There have been a few instances where I have slipped and done that, and as soon as I realized it, I publicly apologized. There are instances where people are just too sensitive and see things or infer things that aren't there. And if you are going to participate in a forum, I think one has to have a bit of thick skin.

I agree with you here, tampa, as long as it is understood that stating one's differing views emphatically and with a minimum of flowery bullshit is not putting people down, rather it is the vigorous challenging or questioning of the person's opinion or viewpoint of whatever issue is at hand.
