Being kinda stuck too!

Thanks Ms. K for the heads-up on this fine song. I've always enjoyed the sound of Nickelback, and this song also has a fine message.

I appreciate hearing some of the best of today's music, as I'm typically kind of stuck in the late sixties/early 70's genre.

Dear Mikeyank,

While I guess each generation has its own preferences, music from the 60's & 70's has so much character to it that even today audiences can easily relate to it. Fortunately, the clear pronunciation of the entertainers was a hallmark that stressed the words were equally important to the music itself. I especially appreciated the folk singers like Peter, Paul, & Mary; Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and other singer/songwriters like Carly Simon, Judy Collins, Barry Manilow, Neil Sadaka, The Mamas & The Papas, Elton John, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Simon & Garfunkel, The Carpenters, and simply too much to remember it all. I will leave you with a few classics below:

Those that know me/the type of music I like, know this is yet another that i give a  It is, (as forementioned), a great song, with a good rhythm, but ALSO tells a story. Good pick, Ms. K!!

Okay Bob, if you like that type of music......... I have loved Daughtry since day one. And the love is all about the music. It has nothing to do with the fact that Chris Daughtry shaves his head like Slimmie.:001_tt1:

I'm a Nickelback fan too!

Thanks, Ms. K. I love that song. I'm reminded of a sad time in my life when I lost my mother, Katherine. In the months leading up to her passing, I heard this song for the first time on American Idol in 2008. It was Nickelback's Hero. For some reason, I had begun to grieve for my mom during those months, not knowing she was dying. But I was very emotional and cried when I heard the song (still do). Anyway, she died in my arms that Sunday afternoon after suffering for years. I cared for her during those years, and we were alone in her house. I miss her greatly. She was my best friend. She was my hero.

I am so high. i can hear heaven.
i am so high. i can hear heaven.
no heaven, no heaven dont hear me.
And they say that a hero can save us.
im not gonna stand here and wait.
i'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
watch as they all fly away.
Someone told me love will all save us.
but how can that be, look what love gave us.
a world full of killing, and blood-spilling
that world never came.
And they say that a hero can save us.
im not gonna stand here and wait.
i'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
watch as they all fly away.
Now that the world isnt ending, its love that im sending to you.
it isnt the love of a hero, and thats why i fear it wont do.
And they say that a hero can save us.
im not gonna stand here and wait.
i'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
watch as they all fly away.
And they're watching us
(watching us)
as they all fly away

I think music brings back memories more than anything else. Songs I have heard for the very first time, have reminded me of things that happened a very long time ago. Then there are songs associated with events, that bring the memories back so strong, it feels like it just happened.

Thank you for sharing your story Balboa. I think I may have shed a few tears with you.

Thanks, Ms. K. You never know what grief really is until you've lost someone close to you. And those loved ones can never be replaced. We simply move on with a hole in our heart.
