Thanks, Bob, and I really enjoyed that vid from LMFAO. I don't usually like that kind of music...much, but I sure enjoy hearing it when it's with a dance troupe as good as this one.:thumbup1:

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was sorta reluctant about posting it, given your recent circumstances, and the group name, not knowing if you would take it the wrong way! I am glad though, that you did like it!

Hi dudes,

I love music and although I play acoustic guitar (badly) I prefer listening to my collection as well as my dad and uncles.

My musical range goes from A to Z ranging from all types of music, be it pop, rock, country, folk or classical. Does anyone else have such a diverse range ?
I am so glad that this thread is still alive, as it was started by joninliverton in December 2009, and every time there is a new post here, I see Jon's name, and the British spelling of "favourite", I get nostalgic. Jon was actually on "the other side of the forum" from me, and we had some beauties of arguments, but eventually we respected each other's opinions. I always enjoyed Jon's forthright candid opinions on models and scenes, the site itself, and every other issue that came up on the forum. There is something to be said for the exuberance of youth, and Jon represented the young, intelligent, proud to be gay point of view quite admirably on the forum. It would be nice if he came back to say hello at some point.

You're right, he was a terrific kid. He was very straight-arrow on a number of moral and ethical issues but sexually (or at least insofar as his porn references were concerned) he was turned on by darker, pre-80s phenomena, especially BB stuff. I think in the end he left looking for gayer, more hard core material than he found here.

Speaking of looking back, I found this last night. I wonder if jon, whose taste was mega-eclectic, liked any of the songs on the list (or which one he liked least), and what your take on Rolling Stone's poll might be:

In my opinion Celine Dion wins. Soaring, brainless sentimentality is worse than pre-pubescent pap.

Fave singer: Adele
Fave band: Florence + The Machine
Other singers: Beyonce, Lady GaGa
Other bands: A Fine Frenzy, Metric

R.E.M. is retiring (retiring, what the fuck does that mean?) sob, boohoo...gutted here on the island.

They are so perfect. The best group in the last 30 years.

Oh, life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up

(chorus)
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight, I'm
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

(repeat chorus)

But that was just a dream
Try, cry, why try?
That was just a dream
Just a dream, just a dream
Dream
