I loved the Bee Gees, but it took me growing up to appreciate that song. When I was a little girl I had disco fever, so I used to dance around our living room doing the famous Jon Travolta dance moves, so that one was a little too slow for that stage of my life...........

I'm so uncoordinated any attempt at dancing usually ends up as a trip, slip or fall event (often all three), but back in the 'Saturday Night Fever' day I could do a mean John Travolta strut...in the privacy of my bedroom, of course

Speaking about Saturday Night Fever, and John Travolta as Tony Manero "strutting" down the streets of Brooklyn. :001_tongue:

Yes! Tony Manero! Thanks Mike, I was wracking my brain for the name of John Travolta's character while writing my earlier post.

Grace's DYI bedroom strut...

1) Push bed into middle of tiny room
2) Kick loose clothes/shoes/dolls/hair scrunchies under it
3) Drop Bee Gees tape in cassette player and press start
4) Stare longingly at Tony Manero picture glued to the front of the cassette case
4) Strut around bed, being sure to push up on balls of feet on every step
5) Grin and giggle

Sorry Jon, fun diversion, but we're back on track now, so don't get mad....

Seal's version of this classic is nice, but I still prefer the original

Great song Grace! So much better than the Madonna version, too!

I think this might be my favorite thread!

Yeah, me too...and on a gay porn site. Jeeze, who woulda thunk!
For me, it's the weird and wonderful mix of nostalgia and newness that makes it hard to resist coming back to again and again...

OMG! I'm soooo laughing at myself, right now!

I was looking at Rob's 'I don't want to live with out you' and I thought...Beauty! ACDC 'Live Voltage Rock and Roll' here I come...
Oh, duh to me...I just found out via You Tube the name is actually 'High Voltage Rock and Roll'. I've been singing/screaming Live instead of High for decades! :blushing:

Live from Live Aid, at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, in 1985, including what, according to Wikipedia, 'was trumpeted by some media outlets as "The Bum Note Heard Round The World", in contrast to Freddie Mercury's powerful, sustained note during the a cappela section of Queen's Wembley set, which was dubbed as "The Note Heard Round The World".'
