I got my booster shot on Tuesday morning and I felt fine until bedtime on Tuesday night. Of course the Yankees had just lost to Boston which did not help my mood. Lol But I felt a fever and a headache as well as my arm hurt. And yesterday, I did not have to work and had no appetite and slept a lot all day. But by dinner time on Wednesday I felt okay again. So now I have natural antibodies after having a mild case of COVID early on in March of 2020, plus Shot #1, Shot #2 and Booster Shot #3, but I still have uncertainty. I find myself arguing with crazy Trumpers who think that vaccine mandates are wrong and I argue with friends who think that I am not taking the virus seriously enough, by taking the subway and not being afraid to go indoors to museums and the like. These are perplexing times we are living in.I just made my appointment for my booster shot for next week. Being I am over 65, I now qualify legitimately although I know many people my age who've already gotten theirs by checking off on their applications that they are immuno compromised and no questions are asked. I was in no rush to "jump the line", but as long as it is available to me, I figured, why not? I was talking to a friend yesterday who is under 65 and she made an appointment. She said that she will feel safer to go to indoor events with the booster. I don't think that is accurate as the booster to my knowledge doesn't necessarily increase your immunity if you've had your two shots. It is only to give a boost for when the antibodies may begin to wear off. That is my belief anyway.
I do feel like life has largely returned to normal in my life. It is different for sure, but the fear and panic of a year ago seems to be in the rear view mirror. I sure hope it continues that way.

It reminds me of when HIV was first discovered. Remember all the fear. Can you get it from sweat? from spit, from breathing the same air? There was so much misinformation. It wasn't helped by a homophobic President Reagan. Much time and many deaths resulted from his prejudice. I look at it this way, I got my three shots, I wear my mask and a plastic shield when I go out. If you're not vaccinated stay the fuck away from me. Breakthrough infections in those 65 and above carry a much greater chance of a more serious infection and death. At least today, who knows what they will say tomorrow.
Hey Frontier!
It's nice to see you posting. I agree that playing it safe is still the best game plan for now. It sounds like you're doing everything possible to keep yourself and others healthy.
That is very good news if it is accurate, Tampa. And if another booster shot is decided upon, I will certainly trade another 12-24 hours of discomfort and feeling ill to becoming infected again. As they used to say back when I was going to the gym on a regular basis, “No pain, No gain! LolGood morning buddy. If there is a silver lining to be found in your suffering of Tuesday night (beyond the Yankee loss) it's that as I've been told by people with medical backgrounds...a strong reaction to the vaccine (however unpleasant it may feel at the time) means that your immune system took it very seriously. Which is actually a very good thing. The fact that you were so symptomatic means that the booster provoked a strong response from your immune system. Meaning it did exactly what it was supposed to do. (Minus the feeling yucky part.) That is, creating multiple strong antibodies to the Covid virus.
For those with very weak immune systems, transplant patients, HIV patients, cancer patients, etc...a complete lack of symptoms after a Covid vaccine can sometimes (though not always) mean that the immune system response to the vaccine was weak or neglible. Meaning that possibly the immune system created fewer antibodies to the virus. Or in very rare cases...none at all. And the patient may still be very vulnerable to the virus. Of course some people are going to have stronger negative reactions to the vaccines, just because. Everyone's physiology is slightly different. Whenever we try to use a single medication or treatment across an entire population there are bound to be small percentages of problems and adverse reactions. Most people will have very few negative side effects from the vaccine and have an excellent immune response, with a high antibody level. That's always the goal of the pharmaceutical companies.
I fully admit though that this is logical conjecture and me practicing medicine without a license. You may get a totally different opinion from an actual random doctor. But this is what I've heard through the grapevine in my own life. And not on FB, twitter or random emails sent from Nigerian princes. haha
I agree, although each person has a different situation. For example I am homebound as I mentioned before & see no need to get a second booster shot. In addition I have more pressing health issues & had a severe attack, yesterday.
And let me add….lol…..to the absolute nonsense.Y’all? Lol. Cliff Jensen.
Ok, so I do love Cliff Jensen and have for a very long time. He’s always safe when it comes to filming as he’s constantly sharing his results, but won’t get the vaccine. Please make it make sense. He took to Instagram to share that the gym he’s been going to for years has started requiring proof of vaccination. He bragged about how he never gets sick and he’s been in the sauna and the steam room and been exposed but never got covid.
What I don’t understand is someone who gets std tested in order to work but won’t get a free vaccine in order to work out at the gym. Lol. Please make it make sense. Is all of this to own the libs?
As much as I love Cliff Jensen, I couldn’t care less that he’s been denied access to his gym. All because he won’t get a free vaccination. GTFOH.

Good luck but the benefits outweigh the side effects by far. I had the booster and felt sick for a day. But one or two days of feeling ill is not as big a deal as getting sick with COVID.Wish me luck boys! I just scheduled my 3rd Covid shot (moderna booster.) I hope the side effects are not as bad as the second shot, that one wiped me out for a bit.
