I did not know where to put this so here goes. I am sure many Forumites have mysteries in their lives where people they love and care about disappear. I have two such situations . One involves the love of my life, Jeff. The other survivors of a pedophile ring where I was considered their grandfather or as the called me Saba. Both where on line relationships but as real as in person.

This is a fine thread to make your post on. We used to have a distinguished member of this forum who lived in Canada and often spoke of the love of his life who lived in the United States. It was only years later, on an offshoot of this forum which unfortunately no longer exists that he mentioned that he had never met his “boyfriend” in person, so I do know of your situation br with Jeff. It is not uncommon in today’s world.
Please feel free to post more about anything from your life that interests you as the real people from this forum are in my opinion, the best part of Broke Straight Boys I never would have remained a member here all these years without the forum.
I'm gonna take a page from Jay here to talk about another actor who has totally broken my heart with scandalous behavior.

I loved Armie Hammer in Call Me by Your Name.
Yes. THe "usual" Hollywood accusations by women of sexual misconduct and/or assault. Heavy drug use, alcoholism. Cheating on his wife. Confessing in text messages to a woman (who was not his wife) that he had a cannibalism fetish and had strong cannibalistic fantasies about her in particular. Talk about unraveling! His wife divorced him. Every movie studio ran away from him. He was dropped from about 3 major movie projects that he had already been hired and cast for. One rumor is that he's been living in the Cayman Islands working as a real estate salesman selling timeshares. Another that he was down there working as a hotel concierge.
It's just such an icredible fall from grace.
In the sequel to the book "Call Me By Your Name" that's called "Find Me"...the story picks up at least 20 years later. I had the hope and fantasy that they would do a sequel movie with the same lead actors, and that just maybe I would live to see it in my own lifetime. But with Armie Hammer's standing in Hollywood right now... And him dealing with some very serious cringy career-ending mental health issues... It's an open question as to whether he will ever get a part in any movie ever again. And he was my favorite actor in CMBYN.

Agree & individuals are a reflection of society in general: the good, the bad & the ugly. We must also remember we are all flawed, some learn to control their flaws, some evolve into hopefully better human beings & sadly others into something worse.

Sign of the times?
I was walking back from my dental appointment in Carrol Gardens this morning and noticed this sign in the window of a bagel store. I think this was the same store I passed several months ago with a sign with even more limited days and hours and saying that they were looking for help. Perhaps this is a sign that things are getting back to closer to normal…….
