It has taken me some time to say something here. MikeR was one of the guys that when he was in the scene you knew,,not only was he going to give it good to the other guy, but he was probably going to make you laugh at some point. Like many others I was caught by suprise. He is truly missed...love ya man.

I think it's that MikeR had issues with bi-polarity and prettypolly has the same problem.
Which one was Mike Robbins? Did he have a stage name? Was it Mike with blond hair?

I'm afraid that those who insist on knowing the reason for his death are going to be disappointed. All we have are our best guesses. Those few people in the know are obviously not going the divulge how he passed. I understand that it is an innocent and natural question to ask in normal circumstances. But I think they have made it quite clear that out of respect for Mike and his family they are not going to publicly and internationally announce dear Mike's cause of death. MHRIP So we have to accept that part and move on.

Tampa I really don't think anyone knows. The obit doesn't say what he died of. I've thought for a long time that it was probably a Jim Morrison kind of death as well.
Two very beautiful young guys with angelical wavy hair dying in much the same circumstances as each other, decades apart, is as lovely a way as any to remember MikeR.
There's no evidence that the irresponsible people withholding the information are doing it "out of respect for Mike and his family". Mike's not even his name and we don't even know his identity nor would saying how he died tell us that.. so let's at least be honest about the motive.
The silence has done nothing but stir up controversy and has led many to conclude the worst. I suspect it may have been an intentional act because if it was something like a traffic accident, why would you not just say so? It's obviously something worse than that. And while I understand his obituary doesn't state it.. the first post indicated they were in contact with his family so they obviously know what happened.
Qscott86, welcome to the Forum first and foremost. I understand it can be painful not to be in the know and we can often allow ourselves to feel victimized when this kind of information being withheld. In the past there have been breeches in confidentiallity. Also, It has been explained that some of the models do this on the down low and not all of their family and friends are aware of what they did here on Broke Straight Boys unless of course they were in the know or they are here as a member. Sometimes bad things do happen to good people. Many of these things won't be revealed until we cross over to the otherside ourselves. I have come to believe that their is a reason for everything. I have been a member of the site long enough to know that management has a site to run first and foremost. More importantly, they all have a great deal of humanity and compassion where people and members are concerned. I don't believe that they would withhold information about something this tragic without a good reason. I do belive I have read several indications among this and other threads that not everyone knew what Mike did for money and the ones who did would prefer to remember him as they knew him outside of the porn arena. We may want to seek our own closure on this event. For the sake of confidentiality and honoring the familiy's wishes; I do belive we have been told as much as we can know within the scope of those boundaries. We do have his videos to remember him by on our end and some how we will need to find our own closure from this point forward.
Take care and don't let this little set back get you too frustrated. Mike has moved on and we need to do the same. Bless your heart and Mikes too.

He's the one that is most recently in videos with the name Mike. He definately was not my favorite at all. It seemed like his appearance changed over time. He seemed pretty cool and good guy tho. It is quite an unfortunate loss.. and quite unfortunate his death is the subject of such a big coverup.

Sorry but it is time to give it a rest. It really is none of your or my business how the man died and this persistent almost "hissy fit" by some people who think they are entitled to know such details is macabre at best. I can understand why the people who know do not want to hand out the details. Assuming that the cause of death was something that is a matter of public record somewhere, there are those who would take it upon themselves to research and start contacting people, perhaps family members, in inappropriate manners.
Last year I happened to post some photos of a friend of mine on my facebook page discussing a trip I took to Mexico where i have a second home. Like an idiot the photo I posted showed my friend in front of his place of employment and some dizzy queen I do not even know took it upon himself while on vacation in that same city to search out that place and publicly embarrass a good friend of mine by implying he was some sort of male prostitute for hanging out with gay men [which he most definitely is not]. One never knows who is lurking on these websites or what type of nonsense they might get up to if given the opportunity. So give it a rest and move on.
