I've been struggling to figure out what the new Broke Straight Boys set reminds me of. . . and it took me a couple of weeks to discern it. And I think I have discovered what the new Broke Straight Boys set recalls, for me. . . it's Sesame Street, with BEER! (I kept looking out for Big-Bird, or OSCAR the GROUCH!)

I just don't know why the SAME two beers, sit in the same two spots, every single damned show. Let the boys DRINK THEM ALREADY, for God's sake!!!!

Hopefully, they'll get a better set - even the old one, back. That matters less, to ME, than if they get more PAUL, or get JASON back. Because, I am hoping for both of these things. . . and I will say what I think, until the management gets tired of me, and BOOTS ME ;-)

Mark, I don't know what other members think, but I think that a set which is going to be the backdrop for STRAIGHT guys, will be (aesthetically) MINIMALIST. I would say, any kind of creative enterprise like this, is always very challenging, because of the vast spectrum of tastes, involved.

But I want to thank you, and all the Broke Straight Boys team, for working so hard, and for getting so many good models up and running, on your site! It is still an awesome place to be - and that is thanks to al the hard work that you and your team do. (I KNOW it is a huge job, making so many people, with so many diverse tastes, happy.)

My last thing, Mark, is - based on stuff other members have shared on the site, it seems like maybe Jason Mathews wasn't quite ready to retire, when you thought he was. And, in fairness to YOU, Mark - probably he wasn't CLEAR with you, and you didn't even know that!

Stuff like that happens every day, and I get it. But, if Jason is still wanting to work in gay erotic video - please reach out to him and call him back, and get him back for a couple of new scenes. He has a lot of fans who will be super-grateful to you, if you can convince him to return. Personally, I am very sorry if anything I said, made you feel discouraged or sad about all the hard work that you and the staff have done, to improve the site, and make it interesting and refreshing and fun, for members. I know that it is a HELL of a lot of hard work, keeping a site like this going, and keeping it both artistically interesting, and financially viable, as well.

Well I can see I will be in the minority on this topic, really don't have an opinion either way, other than finding it a little cluttered, it's exactly the kind of place I had sex at / in....The era that I grew up in and the location, all of the gay sex I had was with so call straight guys....most married or with a girlfriend....and we always wound up in their man cave...generally the basement of their house, pool tables, small bar with a beer mister, dart board, sofa, etc.....nothing fancy, beer posters on the walls, clutter with car signs, etc.......oh well not the first time i was the odd man out..............lololololol

(Including hoping that we see Jason back at some point. lol) I too am sad that Mark is disappointed that the new set is not the hit (in the forum at least) that he and his staff were hoping for. Members asked for a new set that would be a change from the same ole, same ole. They listened and gave us what we asked for, in order to try to please us. What's not to appreciate about that?

As far as the new set goes I don't feel the whole thing is bad and needs to be scrapped. It just needs to be tweaked a little bit. I do like the faux brick, even if it is faux. lol The set just has too many props that distract the viewer from what the models are doing. I actually do like the rather gaudy picture of the woman with her finger to her lips. haha Things like the fake beer mugs, playing cards and telephone just tend to make it look too busy, and cheesy. A private basement billiard room would look decent for a secret getaway to experiment with the love that dare not speak its name. haha With it currently looking like it's in the corner of some public bar though, it just doesn't lend itself to making the models look as erotic as they would in a background that is less busy, less competition on the eyes and more subdued. The models shouldn't have to work extra hard to keep so many props from stealing their show.

I am shocked that Ambi felt he had to apologise to Mark for this thread, but then to continue on this Jason theme in the hope of getting a result.. well I dunno. I agree with Jon, that the set is tacky and is a distraction, but I disagree about the pre and post sex talk being very different from the days of the futon, when most of the "straight" guys made it very clear that they liked females for sex, and were only doing it for the money and were anxious to to shower the same way the new guys do it. After all, that always has been and still is the whole premise for the site.
