Today the court unsealed the government's brief in Trump's election case. Around 165 pages of statements about Trump and others plotting out an insurrection to steal an election. Trump is already screaming about election interference and to that I can only say - remember Hillary's email allegations in 2016 just before the election?

Unfortunately juanjo, I wonder if this will make a difference. Like all successful dictators he has baked into his followers heads that facts are lies, and that this is “election interference “ as you say. Yes, James Comey’s letter regarding Hilary and her server in late October of 2016 was the “October surprise” that may have changed history then, but Trump has totally hypnotized his base.

However perhaps this will help with that small sliver of undecided voters in the few swing states, with more of the “drip drip” damning facts showing who Donald Trump truly is and will help defeat his attempt to reclaim the White House. I am still cautiously optimistic regarding the election and will take whatever pluses that might help the case for democracy over autocracy.

Yup, all smoke and mirrors. I honestly can't wait for this election to be over. I hope Harris/Walz wins, and we keep the Senate and flip the house. Maybe we can get some governing done again (I know wishful thinking about having all three chambers). Seems like we have had 8 years of hardly any progress.

Two things

1). I completely agree. He is a total racist going back to he and his father discriminating against renting to minorities in Trump Village in Brooklyn back in the sixties, and of course when he took out a full page ad in the New York Times, calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, back in 1989. The five young black men were eventually exonerated and released from prison. He obviously has a racist attitude toward Puerto Ricans as well.

2). A totally tangential question. Who are you, Insane Path? You are listed as a Broke Straight Boys model who joined the forum in September of 2018. Being a longtime forumite and an even longer time yenta, I’m dying to know who you are???

Jake Tanner!! Be still my beating heart. Jake was always one of my favorite models here. I have been spending summers at my mom's about a 2-hour train ride out of the Loop. Everytime I am in the City I fantasize about running into him on the street.

Well here we are, the day before Election Day, 2024. I am truly amazed that after all this time, and everything we know that perhaps half of America still thinks that Trump is qualified to be the Commander and Chief of the United States of America. It is not something that I envisioned after January 6, 2021 and the hearings and trials that have exposed him for who he really is.

No one really knows how the election will turn out, but one thing I know is that at some point on Tuesday night, Trump will declare himself the winner and so either be able to say that he was right all along or if Harris turns out to win that the election is a fraud and fixed and to cause all kinds of dangerous situations with his loyal followers. Yogi Berra once famously said, “it ain’t over till it’s over”. In this case it may not be over until well after it is over.

I'm truly terrified if the Trumpicans get elected. There is no Republican party anymore (not the same of yesteryear at least). It's morphed back to a theocratic, supremacist infiltrated cesspool.

The house and Senate races look tight as well. I'll be making some snacks, tuning in the tablet and praying to every God out there (I'm agnostic) for the impossible to happen. It will be a shitshow no matter what, the Trumpicans will be rioting if he loses. If he wins, the USA will no longer be a democratic republic.

It looks possible tonight for Harris/Walz to see victory based on the female , independent and traditional Republican turnout. Remember all those conservative states that voted for reproductive rights this year. It can happen!

I just got back home from voting at 10:15 AM, very efficient, no lines, in and out in ten minutes, an advantage to a Tuesday being a non-working day for me. I even got to keep my voting pen as a souvenir.

As I was leaving, my mind went back eight years ago to Election Day, 2016, when I walked out thinking that I had just voted in the first woman President of the United States. But the joke was on me.

Here’s hoping that eight years later it will come true!!!

The American people have spoken and if this is what they want, this is what they get. I got texts from my 31 year old niece and from two of my friends from college, my age. I told her that she is young and can fight for change for the future, as America tends to shift between Democrats and Republicans and we can have a new congress in two years and a new president in four. I told my “older” friends that we should be okay but the younger folks need to fight for change. This could be a rough period coming up with Trump and both houses of Congress as well as a very favorable to him Supreme Court.

While Trump will win the Electoral College and leads the popular vote now, by time all of the popular vote is counted (especially in California where it will take a few weeks), Trump could very well lose it for the third presidential election in a row. The Democrats really need to take control of states which have not yet passed the Interstate Compact Act and thereby replace the Electoral College with the popular vote winner (the Interstate Compact act would not take effect until states totalling 270 electoral votes or more agree to award their electoral votes to the overall national popular vote winner). What a bad day today!
