I posted a critique on this thread as the first episode where Jimmy & the episode was horrible. Then I wrote a more complimentary one on the threesome with Slink & Rocco where they were great but again Jimmy was out of control. While I enjoyed this episode alot I would just give the caveat that you don't want to go overboard with too much bargaining over money once the action has started. As with Straight Boys Jerk Off it gets tedious while already into a scene if alot of time is spent asking the model to do this or that for $20, $30, $60 more. And then the model is saying, "Nah man! I want $50, $100, or X dollars more." Etc... Once in a while it's okay but on a regular basis I wouldn't want the naked guy with a hardon to stop what he's doing and negotiate fees all the way through the scene. Just my opinion of course.

Since I've only had 6 entries here I'm not conversant with the procedure. What I wanted to do was reiterate what Tampa24 had said about the tedious impact the constant bartering over price has on an otherwise promising production. Spend maybe a minute or two at the beginning convincing us they are straight and only doing this for money and then let the games begin! Just a suggestion.

I did enjoy the interview with Zakk very much, on the clip provided by Robert. I also agree that the new "voice" has not done a great job in the first two episodes, both in letting us get to know the new guys, and with the overuse of cash on the set. However, we must keep in mind that David did his job here for over five years, and learned the tricks of the trade, as time went by.

As Smiley pointed out on another thread, that like the new baseball season, the new Broke Straight Boys is only two episodes old. I feel that we should all take a deep breath, and let the action unfold before our eyes, before we get too upset about the new format.

Have you checked out the six previews on the homepage of the site? There are some steamy scenes coming up with fucking, and sucking and even shots of cum on a straight boy's tongue. Robert is "hot and bothered" by newcomer Vinny, and I'm in lust with the ultra cute long haired Rocco. So I think we should wait a bit, before we attack the new director/interviewer, and Mark for his new product. Mark is a veteran of the porn industry, and I have faith that things will sort themselves out, as time goes by.

I loved David and his quirky ways, but many viewers were commenting that David ruined scenes with his talking, and had to be shut up. Other member's of the forum even suggested that David was promoting and allowing a "rape" to go on under his watch, so David had his detractors too. I am going to show patience and see how things all shake out, before calling for wholesale changes. From the previews of the new model's and scenes, I see a lot that I like, and will bide my time, while Mark and crew work out the kinks on the new version of the site.

You are quite right RR. Two videos or even 10 videos are not going to give you an accurate idea of where the site will end up.

We have to give it more time. Anybody joining the site right now still has a treasure trove of vintage BSBB videos to enjoy. Broke Straight Boys still offers a vibrant forum to discuss anything from orgasms, to skateboarding, to world peace. It's a still a great value for the money. As I'm sure it will continue to be.

We have to give Matthew a chance. David had many years to perfect his technique and skill. This is a niche site. Maybe it could be considered a fetish site. Even an experienced gay porn director will need time (and our patience) to figure out how to film this unique kind of work. After all in regular professional gay porn you get gay models to do whatever you ask of them. Many of those directors have the luxury of a "My way or the highway" approach. Not so, here at Broke Straight Boys

Truly straight guys are naturally not going to want to do anything with another guy you ask of them. So a director of Broke Straight Boys cannot expect a sense of professional discipline like you would from an actor or a seasoned gay porn model. As I said about David a while back he has to reinvent the wheel every time an amateur straight model shows up on set. He has to teach them everything from scratch. Because they are clueless in experience as to what they're being asked to do. They don't know how to perform the sex acts with other guys. They have to be taught. Even how to give a blowjob! They have to feel "safe" on set. If you are overbearing and relentless with them they may cry, or throw up, or bolt for the door. Or any combination of the three. They have to be willing to overcome their fears and misgivings about the sex. Sometimes they need to be coddled a bit if the director wants to get out of them what he's hoping for.

How many of us could get a hardon on cue in front of a camera and a room full of other video crew staff? How many of us could keep from having a premature orgasm during a 2-3 hour video shoot? How many of us could give a cumshot on camera, on cue? Broke Straight Boys tries to do this every day with young straight guys who may be too shy to even do kareoke in a club. Then you're shoving them naked in front of a camera and crew.

This is NOT an easy job for even the most seasoned of video producers. So Matthew (and staff) need our patience to get their footing.

AS RR says, even David had shoots that did not go well. Even with some really good talent and his vast level of years of experience he occassionally came up with a few duds. It happens.

It's aslo true that if a straight model seems too eager to please or does a fabulous job right away...then there are those who will question if he's really straight. So that can be a no win situation as well for the video producers here. It's just another odd quirk to working on a niche site that caters to an unusual genre.

I think Matthew is going to do fine. I like his voice. I think that he and his staff's camera skills will keep on improving. I myself don't think he does such a bad job with the hand-held camera. It took David years to get to the level of quality that we considered "normal" here. So please give Matthew a fair chance.

First I have to say Jimmy is a very hot guy. I for one don't like the skinny twinkie types so he was a welcome change. On the other hand there was way too much talk and too much attitude. He should tone that down.
