Is gay marriage on the horizon in the US?

I am hopeful that we will soon have marriage equality in our country as a result of our President and the Democratic party taking a stand. Our leadership needs to put an end to this debate. We need to move forward. I cannot respect anyone who continues to support the idea that we, as a society, should be able to stand in the way of anyone's right to freely love and fulfill their domestic dreams. I hate that any person has ever had to live in the closet, to lie about their partnerships, to be unable to publicly mourn the loss of their lovers.

Right on, LoveLumps!

But apparently not everyone in my state agrees with me. Not that that's a big surprise, considering that Colorado is the home to some 81 religious organization (in Colorado Springs alone) and most of those are very conservative. Consider Focus on the Family, for instance. However, it doesn't make this kind of behavior any less embarrassing. I've never heard of this bakery, and I don't live anywhere near Lakewood.

I am not a very political person. I do not follow every little thing, but there are certain issues that I do keep up with, and for obvious reasons, this is one of them. While I, personally, do not ever want to get married, I'll be damned if I am just going to sit still and let someone, whose business it is none of, tell me that I can't! Whatever happened to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"? If marrying someone you love makes you happy, you should have the right to, regardless of race, religion, creed or sexual orientation!

Thank God, for people like Boston Mayer Thomas Menino, the executives at The Jim Henson Company, as well as citizens such as yourself, LL, for your support! Perhaps one day our voices will be heard.

Gays and marriage is like sulphur and water - they don't mix.

Man and woman are like nitro and glycerine - they mix...

I don't think there is any difference. Some people work together and some don't. I'm not sure that gender or sexual orientation plays a role.

Naughty Webmonkey

I actually did send Webmonkey a personal message around the time I posted that I thought he was hot. He didn't reply... *sigh* ... but that's the only time I've tried the PM feature... Rob

You are breaking my old romantic heart here Webmonkey. Why did you failed to reply to rBar's love letter straight from his gay heart?

ZDNET Editor: "I got a letter yesterday from a reader, Lisa, that simply requires a response. Here's her letter (typos and all):

My daughter has a kindle fire. I just found out that the ceo of amazon is giving 2.5 million to same sex marriage. I don't want to be a part of this. Do I throw out the kindle or can I order my daughter books and apps from other places other than amazon???? Can you help me with this question???"

Love the suggestion: Better yet Lisa, you could find a gay person (they're lurking everywhere, you know!) and give your Kindle Fire to him or her. That'd learn 'em something!

To quote from the article, "Wow. Just wow."! Not only to the question, but to the writer of the reply, and in a very different way. That was just an awesome response to an inane question. Bravo, David Gwirtz!

Thanks for posting WebMonkey!

Thanks Robert, but, while it was from my gay heart, it was just a hi, and thank you for his work here, and not so much a love letter. I appreciate your efforts though! :) Besides, I have a new crush here... several actually! Blake, Jason, Sha... lol. I guess I'm fickle! (or maybe just horny!)
