I remember Jayman very well Tampa and his prolific posting. And we certainly celebrated the prolific posters, “back in the day”. But the nature of typical posts have changed over the years. Whereas most of our posts in the early and middle time of this forum were folks typing out their feelings and thoughts on issues from the porn on this site to news and entertainment and politics, the whole gamut of subjects. I felt like I knew Jayman and who he was from his posts, and the same goes for you, Slimvintage, MarkyMark, TusconJayce, Parisnoyd, Ms. Kianna, LoveLumps, Grace from Australia, Beth from Texas, Milla from France, (to mention some of the ladies of the forum), Ambivalent from Canada, Johnny from San Francisco, elyot1 from the Midwest, etc. etc. You and I and Peter, and Stowe and juanjo to a limited extent are still here. But the posts of substance seem to be a thing of the past.
Besides you and I, it seems to be br and kg who make the majority of the posts. Jaybifla tries with his recent contest thread of, “Decisions, Decisions”, but no one seems to want to play and so my guess is he will limit putting them together as I have no idea how he does them, but it must take some work. My point is that lots of pic posting by Mark, you and br are nice, but to me, that should be the “side dishes” and not the “main course”. I will stick around as long as the forum is here and try to add my perspective on models, scenes, sports, current events and politics, celebrities, and all, but it really isn’t the same forum, in any way, by a wide margin, in my opinion.
Mike that can be said pf all gay sites, times change nd people change. Is it good no but that has been the history of humans . Of course on the other hand we have the same problems as well. Contradictory of course but we humans are that. too.

I apologize if I offended you. This is your forum as much as it is mine and you can use the forum however you like. I should not have said what I did in my previous post. I just get frustrated at times when I see nothing but pics and then comments on the pics. But as you said, times change and people change and If this forum is not what it used to be, it is on me to either accept it or leave. Again I apologize.

It's time to re-think the business. Merge Broke Straight Boys, College Dudes and College Boy Physicals into one site, maybe call it Blu Media Studios. Assign a crew to each studio. Offer 3 updates per week, one video per studio with one overall message board to comment on all the videos. Offer a discount to long time members to retain their subscription and charge $99/year or $9.99/month for new members with a discount on Black Friday weekend to entice new members to join. Film enough content to have a cushion and a keep to the 3X/week schedule consistent.

Nitefly you might have a point . Look at Boyfun, who has the same ownership as it began with in 1999. They opened another site Jawked last year and it is thriving. They use gay and gay for pay players. This could be the pattern for Broke Straight Boys, College Dudes & College Boy Physicals as well.

Actually we are close to that point now. To my knowledge all members of Broke Straight Boys have free access to College Boy Physicals, as all members of College Boy Physicals get free access to Broke Straight Boys The only extra pay site is College Dudes and I believe all three are now filmed by D&E, so the only difference would to include College Dudes with our membership.
But I do applaud Mark for keeping Blu Media independent. I read a few years ago that a multi-national conglomerate called “Mind Geek” was buying up all straight and gay sites. I am happy that Mark has remained an independent studio. I am sure it has not been easy for him in current times.

I have been a member of College Dudes since its founding year, it did have a long period when its quality had decreased but recently is much improved. The problem was it was using the same models appearing on Broke Straight Boys so essentially I began questioning as a one-day-a-week site what was the point of paying for two sites. The suggestion made above of a joint membership does make sense as a result.

I think Broke Straight Boys is a good brand name, but call it Broke Straight Boys+. Under one studio, have a College Dudes update on Monday's, College Boy Physicals on Wednesday's and Broke Straight Boys on Friday's. Put the gay porn models on College Dudes, the jock type on College Boy Physicals and the straight (?)/straight acting , bi-curious on Broke Straight Boys Presto - 3 updates per week, more comments on the scene page and more traffic to the Forum. A reason to log into Broke Straight Boys multiple times a week.

I agree w/ you all; all three sites should be merged. (nitefly, Broke Straight Boys+ is indeed a good brand name for the merger.) In a perfect world I could do a lot of these ideas or back in the day when there wasn't so much free porn and only fans. Remember most of my competition went out of business or sold out. I've been approached many times by MindGeek that owns about everything about buying my companies. I'm only here because I've made smart decisions and not sold out. It is very expensive to film a scene you have model expenses, airfare, food, producers, editors, writers, photo editors, accounting and everything else. I also don't cheap out on testing my models and making sure everyone is safe. We also covid test everyone now every time which is also an additional expense. I've been trying to drum up more business but it has been very hard and I often think outside of the box. So yes updating all our sites and putting everything under one network would be great but not realistic. I could do it but it would crush BluMedia financially. Every decision must be thought about because it isn't always black and white.
As a former long-time member, and a newly re-joined "new" member, I like the old content the best. The oldest stuff was by far the hottest stuff! In fact, I think there would be a great deal of interest in remastering some of the old content into 1080p high def instead of the original/poor quality SD stuff. I'm thrilled that David is back shooting all our content again, and I only see that as a huge positive. I feel the site started losing its way once the new production companies starting filming the content, it started getting old and tired and boring (in my opinion). I realize that it's been getting harder and harder to find "amateur" guys willing to do gay for pay, but that's what's the hottest far and away (again, in my opinion). You used to have some mega-hot content on old sites that stopped updating years ago, like College Dudes, BrokeStraightGirls, etc. Bring some of that type of content back again! I can tell you the new crop of "twinks" who are all very gay looking and acting is very boring to me, and is already being done ad-nauseum across the internet. Figure out a way to go back to your roots as it were, there has to be a shit-ton of straight and amateur guys out there who would be willing to perform for a price, and get those creative juices flowing again! Some of the other old-guard sites out there that used to be wildly popular (i.e. MilitaryClassified.com) are also seeming to run into a lull in creativity. What used to almost always be super hot content featuring straight military guys getting serviced by the site owner has been replaced by multiple "updates" that is merely re-cycled old content from days past that is already available to all current paying members. And the site owner himself still insists on starring in each and every scene, which has become very unwatchable as of late.
I absolutely LOVE your newer model "Alex", I have actually seen him on quite a bit of other content besides Broke Straight Boys over the last couple years, but he is so sexy! His body is incredible, he is great looking, plus he seems really nice and a lot of fun. He's also hilarious in some of his content! Find more models like him! I know that's gotta be way easier said than done, the logistics involved in finding, attracting, hiring, and then filming great talent has to be incredibly hard.

One of the only downsides (to me) in going deep back into the archives is the blurriness and lesser video quality of some of the classic Broke Straight Boys scenes. What we don't know is how feasible that idea would be from a standpoint of expense and time. As in, how many labor hours would it take for Mark to pay a computer and videography geek for his services to do this? And then are we talking about doing several hundred (or up to nearly a thousand) vids before the more modern HD cameras came along? Are we talking about a one week 40 hour project...or a month or more?
I suppose that if this were attempted, Mark could assign them to do only the videos with higher ratings of 4.0 or more. Maybe 4.3 or higher? But even that kind of random decision could be controversial with some members though, as some classic scenes with Diesal (just as a for instance) and other legendary stars of the site, had good scenes back in the day with current ratings below 4.0. Maybe some ratings of much older vids have gone down since their heyday, less so due to model or performance quality, but more so because newer members don't like the poorer video quality?
Of course only Mark can know or find out just how quickly one video could be done, and at how much expense. If a 20 minute video takes 20 minutes or an hour or more to re-master...then no way. If these relatively short videos could be done in a matter of seconds or just a couple minutes, then maybe. Though I suspect that if that was the case, that most other sites would have already done this by now. Of course the other point is that if Mark was to spend this kind of money, could he be reasonably sure that he would get all that money back (and hopefully much more than the original investment) in both new subscriptions and more renewals of subscriptions?
I know. But I wanted to thank and encourage Abe for his "outside the box" thinking on how to generate more interest (and possibly more revenue) for the site.
