How can we get more people posting on the message board?

I see your point my friend. But in my opinion only, when we gave up the delineated non-porn related section of the forum I think something was lost. I think that new or newer members kind of lost track of the fact that we can literally discuss anything in here we want to that we find interesting. Heck. We could be talking about favorite new recipes we found on YT...or the pros and cons of hybrid cars...or whether the U.S. should finally metrify. That's not to say that those exact topics are of particular interest to lots of people in here. Just to make the point that the sky is the limit on what can be talked about in here. But would new people know this if they stepped in here right now? If I was brand new to the forum (or was a ghost member) I would probably think that the safest thing to talk about, or what is most often allowed or desired in here, is discussion of sex and porn.

Discussion of sex and porn is fine of course. But when I think of some of the great conversations of the past where many people chimed in, not all of them were porn related. We gained many insights when talking about things other than porn.

I totally agree Tampa. I definitely believe that the forum had more structure when we had two distinctive forums, (or even three when the models had their own forum to post on). But that being said I still believe that the models and the scenes drive the forum. When we have lots of hot guys and hot scenes, that is the entrée that brings the folks here, and then there is room for the side discussions between the scenes. At least that’s the way I see it.

For me, I just don't have the time. I usually sign on, download the scene and the pre/post interview and I'm off. Sometimes I'll swing by the forum, maybe mid-week but, I just don't have the energy lately unfortunately. I'll try to make more of an effort.

Please consider joining us in more discussion of things that are of interest to you and possibly others. If reviews of porn keep you more on the sidelines, there is plenty more to talk about. Feel free to start a thread of your own choosing. Nobody can promise that every new thread will get a lot of hits and responses. Some will. Some won't. So it's important not to take it personally if a new thread doesn't take off. One must take it as a cue to try again with something else. But variety in itself is a very good thing in promoting meaningful, educational and enlightening discussion. Even healthy debate on issues is a positive thing as I see it.

I have an idea but I’m not sure if it’s anything that Broke Straight Boys can budget. Put a call out to former Broke Straight Boys models. Go back to the beginning all the way up to a couple of years ago and see if they’d be willing to make an at home selfie type video. About 10 minutes long answering predetermined questions like what they’re up to, are they married, do they have kids, did anyone in their families ever find out they did porn, etc. A chance for members to see what they may look like now and learn about their current lives. I’m sure some wouldn’t be interested, but maybe throw them $50-$100 bucks. It’s non porn and easy money for them. Models like Adam Baer, Ayden Troy Jason Matthews, and all of the older models that some of the members mention from time to time,

I don’t know, just an idea. You could maybe do 2 really good ones and see what the reaction is. (2 highly ranked models we haven’t heard from in a while)
If it doesn’t spark a lot of interest then at least you’ve only done 2.
Mark, I remember when you released the Ethan Steel shower interview, unannounced, and it got such a great response. Release surprises and don’t tell anyone. Those are the best.

They told us about their ambitions, their goals and their family life. I felt connected to each one and looked forward to their growth and hearing what was new in their lives and this connection made their scenes more intimate, more personal and more sexual. As a member since the beginning, you understand how we felt about the models back then. They were so much more than porn performers, but they were real guys to us and we cared about them as people. And knowing their personalities made the sex so much hotter.

I am curious Rockstar what your original screen name was on the forum? I wonder if I remember you. But whether you want to reveal that or not, I feel the exact same way as you do in your post. Thanks for your contribution.

I don't know the answer as how to bring more members over to the forum, but if the membership in general is steady then that's what really matters!! I personally don't post now like I did my first 10 years as a member, but my life is a lot fuller than it used to be.

So i dont post much if at all. If i were to get involved, it would be more so because i could interact with the models, so that would be a huge drawing factor for me. The fact that there is only one Broke Straight Boys scene per week, I can check the forum thread and a day or two after the scene release and read what everyone is saying. If i see a thread topic that doesn't interest me, i dont bother opening it. So there have been weeks when I have gone without opening a single thread. So for me, some ways to get more movement in the forums

1. Model interaction (especially those that are not big on SM)
2. More content to discuss and/or creation of a scene thread when the pre-interview drops
3. Encourage discussion of non-Broke Straight Boys porn (just get fingers typing)
4. Other topics besides porn (sometimes I need a break from porn so having some place, i can discuss recipes or current world events is welcomed)

just some thoughts on what would make me contribute more to the forum.

I'm always thinking about this one and have tried a bunch of things with no success. I would love to hear your ideas on how to get more of our members posting on here.

Thanks everyone for their feedback. I would love to get more models posting as well. It is tough because they have their only fans and other platforms to post on. If models post here their ratings and popularity go up right away but I'm still not sure why they don't lol.

As for more updates that would be nice but we barely have any scenes in the can right now so it's impossible at this point.
