Hi, how is your day going.

Whew! School is fine. I'm getting caught up in petty teenage shit with people in their 20s and it's quite annoying, but otherwise it's good. My classes are a little easy.

Hi Treb. All is good with me. I’ve been posting on other threads but not getting out much in the “dead of winter”, other than my two work days and a daily trip in the morning out for a newspaper and a trip to the deli or supermarket. I’m pretty much hibernating for the winter. :001_smile:

How are you and how is college and are you working part time or just concentrating on school? Always nice to have you stop by and say hello 👋
Don't blame you Mike, I have seen news pictures of NYC and it looks like winter cold is there to stay. Keep warm and update us when you can.

I'm alive, hungover but alive

Keep losing shifts at work so will probably have to find something new soon so theres that as well.

Sorry about your work situation but thank you for becoming an active “forumite” as we used to call each other here. I’d enjoy it if you talk about yourself and your life to whatever extent you feel comfortable with. This forum started for me as a place to talk about the”believably straight boys” on David’s futon but turned into something much bigger for me. I’d love to see more of that again, especially with only one scene a week.

While out and about this morning, I passed one of the one block streets in the neighborhood called Love Lane. I took a few pics and when I got back home I researched the unusually named street.

Love Lane is a small, one-block street located in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York. It's found between the decidedly less whimsically named Henry and Hicks streets. Love Lane dates back to the earliest days of the city, when the lane was nothing more than a mere trail utilized by the Native American population heading to the East River.

Though there are varying theories as to the origin of the street's lovely name, according to a New York Times article from 1894: “The oldest residents can remember a time when there was a cool and shady path leading down “Lover’s Lane,” where plump, rosy-cheeked Dutch maidens, with their sweethearts, meandered on summer evenings out through the turnstile and down the grassy bank to the water’s edge.”

Unsurprisingly, the street has become a popular destination for couples to take romantic walks and photos. Fittingly, there is little traffic that passes through the street, allowing visitors to take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the 19th-century architecture.

Here are my pics from this morning.

This week several snowstorms were forecast for NYC, but they seem to miss our area or the snow turns to rain leaving just an icy coating on the surface. I looked it up and the last big storm with over a foot of snow was December 2022. Last night we had another mini snow with the sidewalks and streets pretty clear but some snow on the trees. Overall we are much better off without a snow storm but they sure are pretty at least the first day………This is what I saw outside this morning. The first day of spring is March 20th, so we are on our way out of this very cold but pretty much snowless winter in New York City!

Be careful Mike talking about it might bring you a blizzard!

Friday was my birthday. It's usually overshadowed by Valentines Day, but this year it was also the Eagles parade. Le sigh.

I'm happy the Eagles won, I remember being in a Eagles supporting bar in Chicago back in 2018, when they won the atmosphere was amazing!
