Go public or Remain low key?

Thanks, Beth. Got it! I created a new Facebook page and will use that person for this purpose. I got caught with my pants down a few months ago with my twitter account. I was doing a back and forth conversation with Austin Wilde and I somehow ended up broadcasting it. Had 104 new followers who retwitted it countless times. Got a call from my daughter who asked, "Hey Dad. What's up with your twitter account?" along with a smiley face. New name for that account, too. And, it took quite a while to clear out the resulting followers and that conversation. Not good.

Wow. I think that's everybody's nightmare. While it may be impossible to keep all social media accounts from being intertwined and connected at some point by the NSA or others who are very computer savvy, one does have to be careful and take reasonable precautions. It's a very good idea to set up separate accounts for those aimed at family, personal friends and acquaintances versus those for adult recreation on the side. :) Another trick is to have them linked to different email accounts from each other.

For instance Ian Dempsey posted videos for the eyes of the forum only and put them on Youtube. I suspect what happened is that he used the same personal email address for both his Youtube account and his Facebook account. The fine folks at Google decided they would do him and his FB friends a favor by posting links to all of his forum-only directed videos onto the FB pages of Ian's contacts of family and personal friends. I imagine it said something innocent like, "Your friend 'John Smith' recently watched or posted these videos." So his parents, siblings and friends all got links to follow to Ian Dempsey's Youtube videos where he talked about being a porn star doing gay for pay. Then he said suddenly one day his phone started exploding with texts and phone calls. They were probably like, "Dude. WTF? John! Who is Ian Dempsey? What's going on? You're doing gay porn? Are you gay?"

It was a very harrowing experience for him for those first few days. But it did eventually get better for him.

Hey Zeno Kostas,

This convo was on another thread but I think it's very relevant here as to what we're discussing here. As I mentioned above, if you do decide to jump into more social media as the superhero Zeno Kostas, you should keep a different email account link for each social media site. Also, obviously you should probably use a different password for each email account. If God forbid, you should ever get hacked on one site, you don't want to give them the keys to your whole kingdom of personal life and public life.

Here is my 2 cents worth. From what you said in the chatter leading up to your scene with John Henry I got the impression you had just finished school, college I assume. In that case you have many options available to you, many more than a career as a porn worker. Going public about your work with Broke Straight Boys might well close some doors to you in more conventional lines of work. I would suggest that is not in your best interests. You are young, smart and good looking. Besides that, you seem like a really decent guy. At this point in your life you really don't know what possibilities will be available to you in the future. Porn work is a fleeting thing, and as financially tempting as it might be now, it is not a long term occupation. Consider Vadim Black's experience during his brief departure from Broke Straight Boys There are a lot creepy people in this business who would only value you as a commodity. You are worth more than that. Maintain your privacy and keep your options open.
Best of luck my friend.
Nick

Dear Zeno Kostas;
Hello from Philadelphia.
I like you very much and have since you started.
My advice.....STAY LOW KEY !
It's better for you that way.
I remember when you first began you had a
girlfriend ten years older than you and she
had a son. She did not like your Broke Straight Boys work
and sadly that did not work out .
Keep your Broke Straight Boys work to yourself....and us.
We will be happy to check in with you
right here. I am sorry however that I
never saw you dance in that Texas bar.

Philadelphia Pa,

Whether you do the social media thing or not, chances are good that people will discover that you're a Broke Straight Boys Once you do internet porn, and it goes on the free tube sites, you will be recognized. We've heard it over and over again from countless models in the past. It goes with the territory. But I suppose that the "social media" will only increase your chances of being "discovered".

I worry for what might happen for Zeno Kostas if he really put himself out there in the public eye. I imagine total strangers asking him to turn tricks with them for money and making all kinds of crude requests. Especially with me seeing Zeno Kostas as being on the straighter side of the fence, I'd rather he not have to see and deal with so much of the darker side of the industry. On the other hand, if he really wants to go far in porn and gain more name recognition and internet fame nationwide and internationally, the social media are the way to do it.

Zeno Kostas, believe it or not, your last scene with John Henry has already been posted on a tube site. Please stay private. Feel free to talk to us here anytime and remember this is a secured site for members only.

A perfect example of what some of us have expressed concern about is what you wrote in a post recently. You mentioned you had not reviewed your scene because you were on your way back to Austin. Boy, put that on Twitter and people will hunt you down.

I'm already here at the Austin Airport...going to hunt him down. I'll let you all know when I find him. LOL

(Could I get into trouble with this post?...I know, I'll just change my name.)

No, you're not going to get into any trouble. You just emphasized what I was saying about how easy it is for people to find people.

I wanna say thanks guys for the advice.
As many of you have touched on, going more public with my career could potentially lead to more exposure and increase popularity (not to sound conceited) which would be the ultimate reason behind "going more social"
But after hear some of you out I've decided to hold off for the time being.
I think eventually i will create more social media accounts for my career but for now i am going to reflect on the thougt. I think i want to be a little more secure in myself and where i am heading in life.

Please, let me give you the first pat on the back for making this decision. You're a good man, Zeno Kostas.

Absolutely! Obviously plenty of models have opted for more social media exposure without ruining their lives. But it's just a good idea for each individual to take some time and carefully consider all the pros and cons before taking a plunge like that.

Is there anything new from Zeno Kostas other than
his latest videos ? I like hearing about what he's
up to and if he decided to stay low key or do more
on the Social Media. He has said he has cut
down his heavy work schedule with two jobs. Does
he still dance in the bar or nightclub? I enjoy
hearing anything about him.
