While I'm not vanilla in my sexual proclivities, I am rather staid in my settings. While back in the day I've done it in the ocean, in bar bathrooms, in xxx bookstore movie booths, department store mens room glory holes, I still prefer the tried and true bed on a continual basis. And usually prefer that setting for my porn. So when I saw this scene in the upcoming scenes, I was a little apprehensive as to what to expect and how I'd like it. Well, from my earlier post you can see how much I liked it.

So, I'm going on a rant here and if I offend anyone, sorry; but sometimes, a lack of diplomacy is appropriate. I just came from the scene page and see its current rating as 4.0! How can that be I said to myself out loud, no less? Then I read the postings on the scene page from viewers and was surprised to read how many didn't like it because of the setting in the pool. While I can appreciate people's not liking that venue, the scene has to be judged in its entirety. Is there no accounting for taste, my Mother use to say. The models are hot, the sex was hot; and the videography which is so often complained about here, was superb. And being in the pool the videographer was able to use fade-ins and fade-outs to give this video an aesthetic that one seldom gets in any type of porn, save the most high end major studio films. And even there it is rare.

Yes, I respect everyone's right to his or her own opinion, but in this case, I have to disagree with the naysayers. No matter what the scene page rating system says, this scene on every level of judgment is the best yet on Broke Straight Boys

Thank you Stowe1 for adding your second post to this thread. Up until now I was torn between loving this scene and just barely liking it. In general I have never been a fan of pool scenes, outdoor scenes, bathroom scenes, or public scenes....too many uncontrollable distractions or elements that detract from our being able to see or hear what is going on with the models.

I feel the same way, Robb; that is why I was looking forward to the scene with some degree of apprehension; but fortunately my concerns were unfounded this time.

I also was surprised at the non-forumite's comments, but I completely understand where they are coming from.

As do I, Robb, given my general view of those types of porn scenes. I'm just surprised that the scene in its totality didn't overwhelm their not liking the water and/or pool.

I agree with you, Stowe1, what I loved about this scene was the hotness and superb performances of the models and the professional videology. I would not like to see a steady diet of this venue, but do appreciate the consistency of the level of professionalism shown here and in the last few updates.

I agree again, Robb, that these types of scenes are better appreciated when sparingly used. Having said that, I'll take the pool any day over that damn red couch set in the garage - lol!!!

I too was surprised by the low rating compared to the comments on the forum. I know only a very small portion of members post on the forum, but I always had the idea that because the Forumite's come from a wide range of backgrounds and ethnicity the general opinion voiced here was a fairly accurate representation of the member's overall feelings. I'll have to have a rethink because at this point the forum comments don't match the scene rating at all.

It'll be interesting to have another look in a day or two...

Grace - mikeyank can address this issue in a much more fulsome way than can I. But I had the same thoughts you had in my earlier days on the forum, but then some of the senior members explained the system to me. Hopefully mikey will read this and piggyback on it with his knowledge of the grading system.

I'm all for change and diversity and this was a good experiment which from posters has been a success. As I said on a previous post, I think Mark should expand on this and perhaps do a few outdoor scenes and sort of mix it up with the usual bedroom or leather sofa scenes.

I would like to see a scene similar to ABFT where there is a bit of a storyline before they get into the action. Say the guys playing pool, maybe 3 or 4 guys or just the 2 to start off, then one thing leads to another and the next thing we're seeing more than the 8 ball being potted. ha ha

Okay, now I know what you mean. It wasn't specifically about the 1-5 "ratings" system per se but how they determine the popularity of a scene or a model.

WebMonkey told us that the ratings are a factor, as well as the comments on the forum, the tweets, emails and privative messages from the fans. But he said that they have a system of keeping track of the "hits" on the scenes, (how many times people actually watch a scene) and that the actual "hits" are the main factor in determining popularity, which makes sense to me too, as those are more true ratings than the one time vote.

But that does not explain why a scene like this one is getting raves on the forum, but only ranks as a "4" overall, and had more negative feedback on the scene page than on the forum. Again, it is one of the mysteries of life.

I don't think that the peter meter was necessarily designed with you in mind Peter. There was an underground newspaper in the late 1960's & 1970's called "Screw", and in their reviews of porn, usually straight, but they referenced gay porn too. They had a meter showing drawings of cocks in various states of arousal to grade for the porno movies of the day. The harder and more erect the penis, the higher grade for the movie. That is what I remember as the "peter meter".

I enjoyed it and appreciated the effort and time that went into the scene. Main issue really is the whole idea was cool but its not a scene that I would watch to get off or anything like that. Both models are awesome and Broke Straight Boys could not have picked a better pairing.
