It's never too late to post on this thread. haha And I'm so happy you did! There are many of us on here who share some Native American background. And that's one thing that you and I have in common. What N.A. tribe do you descend from?

As for #8 I understand where you're coming from on that. And I agree with you to a certain point but I try not to be too cynical about it. Just about everyone has some ulterior motives and expectations from other people they meet or already know. Some are benign and some are more sinister. A more benign one would be someone trying to win favor with you merely in the hopes that you will like them. That's one of my own goals in writing you. Other more selfish goals would include things like someone trying to get money from you. Or someone trying to get sexual favors from you.

Even with motives that may be more selfish on the part of the other person, whether their goals, or intentions are "manipulative" depends on your own perception of them. A plea for sexual favors from one person might elicit a positive response from you. With you feeling flattered and happy to oblige. From another person you might find it amusing and flattering but you do not intend to indulge that person's goal. From yet another person you might perceive a plea for sexual favors as sinister and most unwelcome.

The same scenario would play out from 3 different sides if someone sought your help with money, getting into a popular clique of friends, getting access to transportation, etc. From the very serious to the more mundane scenarios of daily life. What we project onto other people is how we perceive them. And our perception creates our reality. Our egos tell us that we have wants and needs. Sometimes we have better control over the ego and pursue those two things with grace and gentleness, politeness, etc. Some people pursue them more brazenly and aggressively.

If you look mostly for the negative in other people you are sure to find it. At least a little bit. If you look for mostly the good in most people you're sure to find at least some. I will agree with you that there are some bad people out there that just cannot be trusted under any circumstances. They are users who have no regard for the feelings or wellbeing of others. But I believe that they are in the minority. I try to look for mostly the good.

Don't misconstrue what I'm gonna say Logan, but it seems to me that this Taurean tendency to plan stuff out in advance, this lack of spontaneity, could be part of what triggers your feelings of ambiguity in regard to new acquaintances' motives when you first meet them. On the flip side it's also true that mega-hotties like you pick up unintentional vibes emitted by people who are impressed by you and thus mentally developing strategies to become friends. So it's not all paranoia.

So many tracks on those CDs, so little time...

Please don’t misconstrue the ambiguity of this question, Logan, I assure you it is purely spontaneous, and, in order to be absolutely fair, I should warn you that, while I am detail oriented to a fault, as a member of another generation, “Family Guy” is not the pinnacle of my viewing week; however, once, while watching a scene in “The Score,” I was moved to tears when I realized the greatest actors from three different generations were on the screen at the same time, Brando, DeNiro, and Norton and “Primal Fear” is my favorite of his performances; therefore, let me assure you, you overly suspicious Taurean Canuck, of three things: (1) as part Native American myself, I’m really interested in your tribal heritage, (2) we have a friend in common who says you’re every bit as intelligent and charming as your list would indicate, and (3) try changing my car radio to Modest Mouse and it will take more than dramamine to cure the pain! That sentence borders on Faulknerian length, but I think I got them all! Oh, yes, I'm way too old for you, but I've got a son I'd love to introduce you to.

Modest Mouse Rules . . .

Logan,

Modest Mouse rules! Some of my friends think MM is a bit too dark for their tastes but I love ‘em. Great lyrics, great music. I love Issac Brock’s angry & dark lyrics.

Yes “Dramamine” & “Fire It Up” are both great.

Favorite MM songs: “Broke”, “People as Places as People”, “Interstate 8”, “Florida”, “We’ve Got Everything”, “The Stars are Projectors”, “Satin In a Coffin”, and their new single “The Whale Song.”

Favorite MM albums: “The Moon & Antarctica”, “Good News for People Who Love Bad News” & "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" but all their albums are good.

I have yet to see them in concert but want to. As for now, I'll be, "Traveling swallowing Dramamine" . . .

What a suckup you are Slim! LOL :001_wub: But simultaneously very insightful too. As usual...:biggrin: I hope you've scored some points with our dear Logan.

"Three Little Words"...no, not I Love You: Spontaneity, Ambiguity and Misconstrue. Add Simultaneously and Insightful and you've got 5 or the Seven Little Dwarves.

Actually Logan understandably despises suckups in the same way he's suspicious of new people when he first meets them, so I bet it's the reverse. Far from scoring points, I'll never get the longed-for PM...(looks glum)

I like MM and REM in a bit similar ways, the good beat, the meaningful and lyrical repetitions, the gutsy-ness, the charisma, the iconoclasm. But it's too late now, suckups don't deserve a reprieve...

Slim, I hope neither you nor Logan will misconstrue my spontaneity in writing while simultaneously evaluating any perceived ambiguity present in some of my more insightful observations.

Oh yeah: Milk, hard, dogs, pepsi, beach, both, donuts, PC, books, cake.

Please, it is never too late to be spontaneous and post here. Try not to misconstrue our intentions. We think you are an awesome model and you have really put yourself out there. Many of us here on the forum appreciate self confident young men who are willing to step outside of their comfort zone and give gay sex a try. You would probably be surprised at how many of your straight friends will experiment with gay sex secretly. LOL I know this is probably odd; however, many of the gay men I know have straight friends on the side that they mess around with on the side.??? I guess I was a little ambiguous of your willingness to go all the way when you first started to model here. I am delighted to know that you planned to bottom. Not that we minded. Many of us on the forum are delighted that you were willing to go the extra mile and give bottoming a try. Every time we see you your performance seems to get better and better and you seem to be more comfortable every time.

Thank for the introduction to Modest Mouse.

Neither one of us, I'm uh speaking here for Logan as well, would misconstrue that kind of spontaneity.

There are two more Dwarves however, Tumescent and Unrepentant. Do us one with all Seven?

Boy, I wish I could be should a suck up. All of a sudden I need a dictionary and a thesaurus, along with remembering skaespeare (all that time napping in english class). After reading your posts, I feel like I should be wearing a dunce hat in the corner.

going back to school in 2 weeks and was wondering if you guys write papers?

I will check out MM and one of my favorites is Priestess- Montreal band, second album out in Oct.

Guys, guys, guys. Gertrude Stein said it all. "A rose is a rose is a rose." Things are what they are. And they do not all smell as sweet. Try planting one in a pig pen.

Just remember

To find that gentle blooming rose
you first must climb the stems;
Twin and stately standing there
while you in supplication kneel;
And taste the dew drop nectar
lest it should fall away;
You kiss that rosy orb entire
seed, petal, leaf, and prick;
Before the demon clock runs down
and causes it to wither.
