On the contrary, you exhibited a certain strength others only wish they have and are typically jealous of others such as you who openly exemplify it with hope more than fear.
Zeno Kostas, others on here will tell you you did the right thing. While I certainly echo their perception on this, allow me to go one step further: I am proud of you for doing this. Of all the things a person has, the one thing no one can ever take from him is his honour. And you have most assuredly maintained yours through dedication to your relationship with your lady fair.
