Zander holds some serious promise

On the topic of johnny

On another thread, sha and Mark told us that management wants to hear members' comments. But they are ignored. And let's face it Johnny is here to stay, for a while at least. I'm presuming there is a contract of sorts. Not only are the comments of forum members significantly negative, but also the comments on the scene page by members who are almost always not forum members. So I'm done commenting on Johnny. It is what it is. If things don't get any better, I can always vote with my feet and go elsewhere.

Our comments on the forum and on the scene page are not necessarily always ignored Stowe. I am curious as to why Clay left as Sha said more than once that Broke Straight Boys is moving to a "new direction", so I doubt if he left of his own accord. Perhaps negative viewer comments regarding the "Clay era" lead to the change.

But of course you are correct Stowe that the most definitive comment you can make would be "voting with your feet", as you say and spending your money elsewhere.

Hi Advocate - looks we have completely different perspectives, lol! My goal is for the cameraman to focus on the visual, rather than get involved with our stars. He has asked Ian, Tate and now Zander Floyd some very intrusive questions, in a gruff and swarmy tone. Put them on the spot, rather than warm them up (IMHO). And the comments on the video page are almost uniformly negative. Really good directors remain behind the scenes and unintrusive. Thanks for listing!

I suppose we do! I can definitely relate to really liking the questions for scenes with established models, but I like them especially for newer models because they give us insight into the models' personalities and lives that's hard to come by otherwise. This is especially true nowadays - I don't think any new model since Cage Kafig has posted here (although Tate is posting on the scenes I suppose). I guess we're just never going to agree about the Johnny's tone, nor the role of the director - I like the director almost as a stand in for me the viewer. But I'm glad we're having this discussion; this opportunity to reasonably disagree and perhaps influence future scenes is what really sets Broke Straight Boys apart from other sites for me. :)

Chas - how did you like the scene with Cage Kafig, Damien, and Paul? That was the new director working with established models (fewer questions) and I thought it was received pretty well.

Very glad we can have a difference-of-opinion discussion! Here is a copy of my video-post on Cage Kafig/Damien/Paul, one of the most eagerly anticipated video for me, ever, anywhere:
"Assembled are three of the most exciting, sexy and cheerful guys in this business! A holiday gift to us, the Broke Straight Boys members. And what do we get, in my humble opinion? An "ok" video, not well directed, without passion (despite three usually passionate stars), Cage Kafig virtually ignored by his co-stars and other issues (which "alanning" points out well). I'm a huge fan of Broke Straight Boys, but something (not the cast) is off base. Fingers crossed for quick fix, thanks." So from the beginning I was weary of director's work.

As for Zander Floyd .... something about this guy I really like. Not too sure what it is but there is something I like.

As for the director.... are you sure he is name is Johnny.... he acts more like Jake Cruise.

No doubt! That's a good write-up, though. Do you write regularly somewhere?

I agree with Stowe regarding Johnny. Don't like him but for now will stick it out. The "models" may like him but the subscribers for the most part do not and for very valid reasons. As to Zander Floyd...I have to disagree. That he finds it funny to give people viruses stopped me cold. This is a 19yo criminal who apparently has some sociopathic character flaws. And quite honestly, I find him pretty unattractive. Personally I wouldn't miss him if he didn't show up again. As Johnny said: he is an asshole.

This boy is gorgeous! Would luv to see more of him. As for the new camera / interview guy I have to side with a lot of others on here, Waaayyy too much talk. it's getting to be more like a Barbara Walters' Special than a porn scene. But I'd have to say if Zander Floyd was a tree....I'd definitely climb him :thumbup1:

Ditch the camerman!

The models may like but your paying customers DO NOT.. Go read the reviews of Zander Floyd and rarely can you get so much agreement. Either the new camerman shuts his trap or changes his ways or this customer will be checking out!

All our models love the new cameraman. It gets kind of old asking the same old questions. He brings out their personality more.

Could the cameraman make him any more anxious? What the hell is going on here --- exciting, sensual new models aggressively asked irrelevant questions. Very swarmy and unsettling to me (and apparently many other Broke Straight Boys loyalists). This should not even be a issue! Fantastic talent clearly made uncomfortable. Zander Floyd, you are sexy and survived the inquisition, we welcome you!

Did you seriously type that response with a straight face, Mark? First of all, we have to get the terminology straight. The word you use is cameraman. Is this guy just a cameraman or is he also the director/producer? I presume the latter. When you say all our models, how many are you talking about? And they know he has a major say in their usage as models, so do you really think they are going to tell you they can't stand him, if in fact they can't? Also knowing he is your employee, from which they can infer you hired him, from which they can infer you had to like him to hire him, do you really think they would tell you or anyone in mgmt they don't like him? I do agree that he asks more questions and elicits more answers (way too many for many of us), but I don't know that he brings out their personality more. He makes them awkward more often that's for sure. And even the seasoned vet Ian was put off by his approach. As I've said before, it's what he does, and how much he does, and the way he does things that comes across as wiseass. You have got to smooth over his rough edges. And if you don't think that he has any rough edges, then that's a whole different matter.

I agree with you, mikey, that they are not always ignored. That's why I didn't use the word "always". There are times when members' comments have been heeded. For example, at the beginning of Clay's reign he use to show money , throw it around, have models cum on it, etc. There arose from many members a thunderous negative reaction to that, and it was stopped. What I think is disingenuous on the part of mgmt is when it implies that members' comments will matter when it comes to employees. I presume the hiring of a Johnny to the position of director/producer/cameraman - whatever - would involve some type of contract. If that presumption is correct then what we have to say about this new guy is irrelevant as to his employment. Perhaps, some of the comments concerning his methodology may cause mgmt to as I say "smooth out his rough edges"; but unless he was hired on a trial basis (which I find it hard to believe that anyone would take such a position unless he was really hard up) then he is here for the duration (whatever period of time that might be) members' comments and views on that to the contrary nothwithstanding. And for mgmt to imply otherwise is less than honest.

Seems people on both sides. Comment page and Forum are more interested in the director rather than models. Not much like a porn site.
Last few scenes I find myself not enjoying the sex scene or even noticing it. Find myself waiting for reviews. Wish we would get back
to watching some hot fun sex.

Oh hell, I forgot to mention the stills....damn they are hot! Normally, I choose a few to peruse, but I "enjoyed fully" all of Zanders. I don't know if Johnny is taking the photos too, but damn, someone has a "good eye.":001_tongue:

I hope all here as well as Mark knows that the people who write here is a VERY SMALL percentage of the membership who enjoy what they see. The only statistic to look at is the total membership. Does it go up or does it go down. I'd bet that the membership is soaring these days. There is so much to see here besides the forums . It is a porn site and lets realize that and we need to just enjoy what we see or go to another part of the total site. As for me I like all of it. Did you ever hear "my prayer wasn't answered" well it always is but sometimes the answer is "NO." Mark and others who work here have and should have the final say. Business decisions are made and they do what's best for the site. AS IT SHOULD BE. We are not part owners but as usurers we can ask and then accept what happens.

A masterful commentary, Stowe.
I'm unlikely to depart because because Broke Straight Boys is my favorite site, superior to even the most well known alternatives. But the barrage of negative comments is a warning sign. As a veteran marketing guy, I know that hostile reactions from even a relatively small percent of members, is dangerous. If the director offends "only 25% of members" (let's just say), this can cause a dangerous spiral in revenue. To quote Arthur Miller, "Attention must be paid!."

In my opinion joeychuck2, you make a very good point! At the end of the day, who really has the better advantage? The "merchant" or the "consumer"?

I would have to say the consumer for at the end of the day without the consumer, the merchant has no business.

LOL, try telling that to TimeWarner Cable of Upstate NY! But, then DishNetwork isn't much better either! LOL Sometimes, the variety of choices just isn't that great!

Joeychuck: no, we are not owners (We are not part owners but as usurers we can ask and then accept what happens.) but we are investors. Try running a business without use. (incidentally...I assume you mean "users.")
