Who has come back?

I recall the tragic events surrounding Dustin's final moments. It was all over the news here in Florida (and I was not a member on the Broke Straight Boys site so there was no connection for me.) The news channels showed the video - from the issue with his girlfriend to arrival of the officers to Dustin running. It was horrible to watch - one of those "can't get out of your head" scenes so DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T LOOK AT IT. Had any of those officers been trained in the heimlich maneuver I believe he could have been saved. All I could think was, "if I was there, I would have heimliched him", as I know the signs from previous experience. The officers viewed him as being resistant. Sad, sad, sad. I won't watch his scenes here.

The Mikey Robbins (Jones) tragedy - I have read through a blog whereby management confirmed his untimely death but stated that his parents asked for anonymity and they fully respected that request. I, in turn, fully respect management. That is a flagrant display of their commitment to the guys they bring into their studio or home and treat them with respect all the way.

For some reason, I did not know this, MikeYank, but am very saddened, to learn it. Rest in the arms of all the angels, dear Mike R., and may you rise in glory, to live a new and happier, life.

Amen, with tears, and love,
"A".

Believing in an afterlife as I do, I believe Mike Robbins is in a much better place. Life here on earth was incredibly difficult for him. He must have felt tormented and never fully in control of his own grasp of reality. His suffering is over now.

His life and death are still a timely tale for those suffering from mental illness as well as the current state of modern psychological treatment. He was bipolar for one thing. He probably also suffered from a few other diagnoses commonly associated with that primary condition. Psychology and the effective treatment of mental disorders of brain chemistry are not nearly as far advanced in the early 21st century as many of us would hope, nor what I think many of those in the field would like to believe. Mike was offered several drugs to help keep his mood swings stabilized. But he hated taking pretty much all of them because of very unpleasant side-effects. So he would either not take them at all, or contrary to doctors' orders, he would try to take them in doses that he thought helped him feel the best. He was no doubt warned by his doctors not to mix his potent prescribed meds with alcohol or other illegal drugs.

He shared with us that he really preferred to self-medicate with marijuana and pretty much eschew his prescribed meds. I have little doubt that his life here felt like a slow motion train wreck at times. When he drank alcohol with a pinch of prescribed psychotropic drugs on board...along with his underlying condition...his behavior could go from erratic at best to out of control at worst. He attended a Broke Straight Boys event with Diesal one time where he apparently got drunk and acted out so inappropriately in a public setting, that after the fact he was apologizing all over the place to David and Diesal

While we have no reason to believe that Mike and Diesal were ever sexually involved off-set, there was never any doubt that they were true friends and cared for one another. I believe Mike's unexpected passing hit Diesal very hard. I think Diesal lost his desire to be in the industry after that. Many of us felt very close to Mike in here ourselves because we interacted with him so much in the forum. We so wanted him to succeed in life and be able to overcome the obstacles he was born into. Many of us were quite distraught over it.

After Mike's passing, his family's only real public statement was to ask for donations in his memory to medical programs supporting juvenile/pediatric bipolar research. Apparently Mike (and by extension his family of course) had been suffering with this condition ever since his early childhood.

Rest in Peace Mike. You are still loved and missed. xoxoxo

I totally agree with you on the video showing Dustin's passing. It was heartbreaking and tormenting to watch. I don't recommend it on anyone.

Rest in Peace Dustin. You are not forgotten. xoxoxo

One of our leading forumites at the time of Dustin's death, Slimvintage tried to start a movement to lead to a hearing into the police officer's involved in Dustin's death, but Slim lived in Spain and could not get a groundswell of support for such an action. It sounds like Slim was ahead of his time with some of the recent police actions leading to the deaths of unarmed perceived criminals in this country, but that is a different discussion for a different place. And I am glad I never watched the video. I'd prefer to remember the Dustin and the MikeR who entertained me for so long on David's futon, both with their sexual performances and the banter with David.

There's was a time "back in the day" where us members interacted a little more with the models on the forum. They became "our boys" and we looked at them that way. We became very attached to many of the models and the models as you can see from the BTS actually read the forum and answered our threads. The models who almost everybody liked ie: Diesal, Tyler, Mike, CJ, Cousin Mikey, both Shane's, Rocco, Bobby, PC, Damien Kyle, etc just aren't here anymore. It's not the mgmts. fault, but the lack of good personalities with the models. There have been only a few models on here the last year or so that most members all liked. Back then we new everything about our models, now I get names mixed up lol oh well it is what it is.....
I just want to say . That was a real good post Peter. It really is different now. Used to really care for the models. Now for me but for Tanner, Zeno Kostas, Gage Owens and Zander Floyd..Can't tell them apart.
Just don't feel the love I once did. Just saying...

I'm feeling some of that too Johnny. But it's also easily fixed. In my mind it's not simply a matter of the "quality" of the models. The BTS's are wonderful for giving us a glimpse of the real person. But... Some of us at least like getting updates on the models in the scene interviews too... Especially among those models who don't post in the forum. For example, if we find out that a favorite model is having car trouble, or has bought a newer car, or just moved into a new place, or is having girlfriend trouble, or has a great new girlfriend/significant other...we kind of eat that stuff up. It allows us to see them as real people and that's part of what makes the Broke Straight Boys brand such a winning formula. And that's true whether the models are very straight or less so. We haven't been getting many of those morsels lately in real time. Things like if they're in school and what their major is... What subject do they like and which classes are challenging for them? Does their family know about the video work and what are the reactions? What is his favorite food to eat for breakfast or his favorite meal?

When Zeno Kostas first got here he was permitted to talk about how things were going with his girlfriend and her level of acceptance for the video work. I still love him dearly. Don't get me wrong. :) But what more of substance has he been allowed to share with us on camera in the last 6 or 7 scenes about how things are going for him now in mid 2015? Some models are purposely tight lipped about their personal lives and we have to respect that also. But anything that humanizes them is helpful for viewers. Even if it's just a favorite hobby, favorite sport, favorite food, etc.

When we get tossed a few of those morsels or stories during the course of filming scenes, we feel like we are being kept caught up on the lives of our favorite models...in real time. Otherwise that bond we felt at the beginning of their arrival (through the BTS's) starts to feel more distant and detached. The BTS's are a wonderful way to be introduced to a model and get a snapshot of where they're at in their lives and outlook at that given moment in time. But they're not as effective at maintaining a bond of empathy and understanding between a viewer/fan and the model over a longer term. Even members who never venture into the forum will still most likely enjoy the nearly trademark Broke Straight Boys way of making the models relatable as real people. The kind of men you can imagine going out with for a great chat over a cup of coffee or a beer, and not just stick figure sexual performers on your monitors.

I agree Tampa, and I reiterate that the best of times for these kind of conversations with the models was back when David was doing the scenes. Sha is good in the BTS, (although they are few and far between), but in the scenes David got the guys to open up about the subjects you mentioned, and made them into full three-dimensional people, not just porn actors who get naked, kiss and fuck.

You are right Tampa..I guess I am missing the BTS of old.The boy's playing together sitting around a dinner table.
The fun of Sabrina keeping the boy's in there place. Kodi cooking. Paul just being Paul.Laughing together being pals.
Trips to the airport. I loved the old BTS. Was almost my favorite part. I felt a part of something I loved.
Like I say. Now they talk but don't say anything. We really know nothing about any thing. And I don't really believe much of what anyone say's anyway.
Look at Brady. Guess I just miss the warmth of the old days. And my old days are just three years
ago. You go way back. I love the forum but Broke Straight Boys has just turned into another gay porn site. With not the best porn.
But what do I know? I'll stay. Just miss the fun of old. Not much fun anymore but for the Forum..

porn stars who do get naked, kiss, suck, and fuck can be found everywhere! real guys who ride dirt bikes and stuff. the guys did seem more real. their stories seem like things that happen to real guys. I miss that! sha has a great style, but it is just not the same. maybe, if the transition from david had been to sha instead of clay, then things would be different.

Another Strange Johnny QUOTE...I used to Care about the boy's. I don't any more. Even guy's I really like. Say Tanner and Zeno Kostas.
Don't really feel I know them Like I used too feel about boy's in the past. Oh Well. It's just a porn site.Silly Johnny....

I used to care about the boys. I don't any more. even guys I really like. that says how I feel!
it was like having beers together and learning about their persona. part real stuff. part non-real stuff. someone, who in your mind, you touch. now it is more like: you want to lean in first or should I? let's get undressed and then start kissing!
then there are those that doesn't want to know the guys. they seem to want the kiss, suck, and fuck approach. I am more of a tell me more about yourself kind of guy. who are you? who do you want to be? but that's just how it works in my fantasy!

I am so with you another1, and it's okay with me too that it was part real stuff and part non-real stuff. What mattered was that I cared. When an established model was returning, I wanted to listen to the banter between David and the model as I learned some new info, (real or otherwise). Much like a TV soap opera or drama, I felt a connection with the characters. Now like Johnny said, even with my favorites, who are Tanner and Zander Floyd, I don't feel like I know anything about them, real or fake and something is missing that used to be a part of Broke Straight Boys

But before anyone tells me to leave the site if I'm not getting what I want, I'm not going anywhere. I am hooked. I am a lifer, until my life or the life of the site ends, I am here for the foreseeable future. lol

Forumites sitting at the end of the dock waiting for the incoming "We Carry Only Straight Boys Airlines" charter to land on the bay here on Fantasy Island. In the silence, the voice of a diminutive man is heard shouting, "Dee Plane, Dee Plane" and everyone gets all excited and the talk abruptly changes to a single thought, almost a chant of "How many?!!, How many?!!!"

The plane makes an overhead sweep, banks to the right, descends and the pontoons hit the water, the plane skipping like a rock, 1, 2, 3 times then it begins to skim the surface, the engine is throttled into reverse and the plane begins a slow glide to the dock and the awaiting Broke Straight Boys fans at the end of the dock!!!

It comes to a safe skim and is secured to the dock. The side door opens downward, revealing the stairs that will soon carry the newly arrived, nervous and reluctant crop of models down onto the dock and the embraces of the awaiting mob.

Now, an individual appears in the doorway, backing into the space and obviously talking with the pilot for final instructions about the return flight. Those awaiting can barely conceal their excitement. The turn begins, slowly at first, then full frontal wave, "Hey yay!" says Richard Simmons as he completes his turn and bounds down the stairs.

Like seals fearing the walrus, every forumite leaps into the sea and swims away like a shark is in hot pursuit. In a short period of time, they amass on the small island across the bay and lament the reality that yet another plane has landed that had no passengers.

I hope you like my little assessment and written imagery of what I have read throughout so many of the threads today. Fantasy Island has been off the air for years - but some may recall it and little Tatoo alerting everyone to the incoming new guests. I wrote that as a tongue in cheek perception of the realities about which you speak and lament. I'm too new here to completely grasp the concept of actually having an "emotional" or other physiological attachment to the models that seems to be the sort of attachment one could sense when David was pulling the guys off the plane and getting them to perform. I have watched every BTS and have to agree that those impromptu, unscripted or undirected scenes are fascinating to view. But I believe the plane won't have many passengers any time soon.

As a fan of Chaturbate - they are doing their thing from their bedrooms or other home location. And, sometimes, they bring in a friend (another "straight" guy or even a other oriented buddy. That build their numbers, they get more tokens as they set one goal after another, each leaning their "bent" a bit closer to engaging physically with each other. No actual sex at first. Then another time - touching. Then sucking but rarely anything more than maybe jerk off next to each other - sometimes giving each other a hand. And, in the rarest of cases, they build token contributions to like 20 thousand by letting the viewers pick who is going to get fucked for the first time - 10 tokens for X and 12 tokens for Y and the balloting goes on for 1/2 hour while they set mini goals of toying with each other while the balloting is going on. Then, they hit goal and one "hits" the other between the cheeks right there in public and the tokens just keep flying at them (from an audience of 3-4000 viewers.

Bottom line - it's not an uphill battle for Broke Straight Boys to secure straight guys as models. It is more like an attempted climb up Everest during the winter season in Tibet!

P.S. I changed my avatar just for this post - it simply states what everyone is hoping for. Let's see what's on the next plane!
