Please keep in mind Tyler, that Tampa offers his own version of the tale of Jimmy, and while many more of the vocal forumites were anti Jimmy, he had his base of fans too, as attested to by his success in the industry with dozens and dozens of scenes for another porn studio after he left BluMedia, and of course the fact that when Mark was involved in production of a short lived TV series about gay life in Los Angeles, (titled DTLA = downtown Los Angeles) and he hired one Broke Straight Boys model to cameo on the show it was Jimmy. And also when Mark filmed the Broke Straight Boys-TV show he hired Jimmy Johnson along with his former girlfriend and the mother of his sons to appear on the show, even though Jimmy had long been gone from the Broke Straight Boys troupe of models, as Mark needed a "villain" for the TV show to add some spice and drama and Jimmy acted out his role to a tee.

If you choose to search the forums, you will see that Jimmy also used to mix it up on the forum with the fans and was not shy about battling with his detractors on the forum. To me, he was a good kid whose true personality came out mostly on his many many behind the scenes videos when he accompanied Sha to quite a few Gay Pride events representing Broke Straight Boys and you can see how well he got along with his gay fans, always being polite and posing for photographs as well as the "bromance" he developed with Rob Ryder who represented College Dudes at the same events.

Basically what I am saying is that there are always at least two sides to every story, and Tampa offers his own version of reality when he speaks of how membership felt about Jimmy, as I do mine and perhaps the "truth" lies somewhere in the middle, lol Tyler, enjoy your journey through BSB2 and the year of Jimmy Johnson!

I could pile on a long list of reasons why I was not a fan of Jimmy and his scenes here on Broke Straight Boys Most of which I think you will see for yourself in his work (Ahem) here on the site. Sorry, I got a frog in my throat there. haha While Jimmy as a person overall may not be properly (and fairly) summed up well by the lazy, arrogant, selfish guy...with next to no work ethic, that I got to know here back in the day...neither was he simply a kindhearted good guy who was just misunderstood and under-appreciated. The truth I'm sure lies somewhere in between the two personas that Mikey and I see in here and articulate upon. Where he falls between those two rather opposite poles is something which Mikey and I have debated ad nauseam in the past. lol It's obviously up to each person to decide.

Jimmy was always straight-up that he was only here for the money. (Our money) But in the next breath he would also say that he was doing this to help support his kids. So the last part in particular is admirable. As far as I know he was a good dad and a good provider to his kids. Maybe not the best boyfriend or baby daddy, but a decent dad.

Regardless of all that, I still think most will find that his middle to later scenes were better than his beginning ones.

I came across Jeremy outside of his Broke Straight Boys scenes in a Jock Physical episode. He is billed as Jeremy Fulton. That site is no longer active, though. I have a PH tube account and most of the episodes from Jock Physicals can be found there. That paticular "Doctor" had many "struggling" porn stars as models for his exams. Continuing into Broke Straight Boys 2.0 is a big change no doubt. I think I got the feel of what they were trying to accomplish, maybe around the June/July 2011 mark. This is how I am going with it. Chad was pitching models out there, passing visiable cash, and upping the ante with items. It reminded me of ordering dinner or better yet a pizza, then upgrading with add ons as the scene was starting or perhaps before. Jimmy's first scene reminded me of what Reality Dudes STR8 Chasers are doing now over at their site. I really enjoy it and it is one of my perks outside of Broke Straight Boys that I keep. Brandon Evans has done an episode with them. It is pretty hot, but kinda of light hearted too! I first saw Jimmy Johnson over at Men. He did many scenes with Johnny Rapid in their "Prison" related series there and others. I was surprised when I saw him here. Either I had skipped over those, or just didn't recognize him. Also, I read an on-line article published by Waybig or Queerty. The topic was understanding the Gay4pay realities of gay porn...who the stars were and their reasoning...something along those lines. They had questioned Johnson and Kurt Wild or they were referencing them. It talked about them having families, etc, too. None of that bothers me in the least. What bothers me is when they do those interviews and talk about the big money, but then say how disgusted they feel after the fact but find solice knowing they are doing it for a better good. I am paraphrasing but making my point. It is a subject that will be discussed forever and I feel the viewer themselves has to reach their own 'comfort level with it.

Fair enough Tyler as you "danced" around the Jimmy controversy but I will make a few brief comments on the four early BSB2 models that you isolated. For some reason, Darren did not do anything for me sexually, but he did a behind the scenes where I saw what an intelligent and nice guy he was. I think that Jamie was hotter than a pistol and also misunderstood by the forum for his perceived homophobia, but the fact that he did get fucked, even while proclaiming that he was straight and sometimes giving the "finger" to Clay at the end, I liked Jamie a whole lot. Tampa, he was similar to Steven, in that he had lost everything and starting over. I will admit, I did not watch the solo scene. I am sure he tells the entire story of Chad Michaels there. Watching his eyes and his nervous expressions as the more experienced Darren talked back and forth with the other Chad, made me an immediate fan. These are my types of straight boys! The physical is there absolutely, but his sense of not having a clue of what any type of man on man sex would be like was not insincere. This was not scripted or fake. It is interesting for me to observe your "accelerated learning" through the archives and history of Broke Straight Boys, Tyler. If I were teaching the course I would slow down the process, but this is obviously an independent study elective and you can go at your own pace. lol

But seriously I do agree that the director of BSB2 who we knew as Clay was very uneven in his presentation in the early days. We learned that he was shooting both College Dudes and Broke Straight Boys simultaneously and apparently he and Mark were trying to distinguish the two sites as separate entities and hence some of Clay's over the top antics to show that these were straight boys while College Dudes were just pretty young guys having sex.

Also the contrast between David who seemed to know how to relate to the models and Clay who seemed uneasy at casual banter was very noticeable to fans of BSB1. And the prop of throwing cash at the guy's naked bodies and his making them say demeaning stuff while showing their "freshly fucked assholes" came across to me as mean spirited. But he did have some very pretty guys like Chad who you highlighted as well as Bobby and Jason Matthews, (doing his second tour of duty on Broke Straight Boys).

Please continue to post your favorites and your thoughts Tyler as I am a huge fan of Broke Straight Boys and it's history and I enjoy reading your take as you explore and you have the advantage that I did not have of looking at it all in perspective of the Broke Straight Boys past and future. Mike, after I read this comment late last evening, I made a mental note to myself. Before I go any further, I was going to go back to the Max and Landon episodes and double check. I had skipped over many of the Diesal scenes. As I had stated before, his 3 scenes with Jimmy were Diesal's finest in my opinion. The others didn't matter. Of course, that is my opinion. All of the episodes with Anthony and Cousin Mikey and the various other models they appeared with, that I gave my thumbs up to, had been secured. I won't list them all but I feel that it is important to give you this background and anyone else that may be reading it. I want to say THANK YOU!



I get so focused on things at times. It is like my bad habit of having a heavy foot on the accelerator. The variations in taste from one person to the next are fascinating to me.

He was broke and straight and a ROTC patient over at College Boy Physicals. David the model took this in stride from my viewpoint. Over at College Boy Physicals, his scenes are pretty hot, but humorous as well. Another thing I took away from his scenes where that he seemed to know what the audience watching these porn sites were looking for and did his best to deliver.

As for the others, it was Chasen, Logan, and 3 scenes with "Jase". whose varying styles, looks, and personalities stood out for me from that original eleven above. ALSO Jordan Grant. I will be honest, I did not watch them, but glanced over the gallery. I want to do a quick check off list if for no other reasons, it strengthens my rationale of the purpose. With that said, I also think it is important to re-state what I perceived as David and BSB1's goal with the Broke Straight Boys models. They were "straight" (as far as we could tell), broke (could say that they were broke and give a reason. Some were simple to the not so simple, i.e. "Steven"), and a boy ( a few have been 25 -27 but the majority 24 down to 18). Now David wanted cock sharing ASAP, he had no problem giving out the cash if you kicked it up to oral. If you did that and appeared comfortable, didn't pout too much, and the members loved you, he offered more $$$, sternly suggesting anal. I guess it is worth noting for those new to Broke Straight Boys that Mike did pass away from an undisclosed cause. Based on his chatting with us on the forum, my assumption is that it was either a drug overdose or something related to depression, but that is just speculation. Mike was always one of my all time favorites as he reminded me so much of many straight young guys whom I've lusted for over my lifetime. I loved his physical look as well as his seemingly care free attitude, but the reality may have been quite the opposite. RIP to my young prince, the late great Mike Robbins.

My guess is that Jordan was truly from New Jersey, and why would they lie about that. He is another of my all time favorites for all the reasons stated above about Mike R, Deisel, Jimmy J and Tank Shane!

haha...poor attempt at being cynically humorous here. Jordan could be my 15 year old nephew. I was able to send a picture of "Jordan Grant" to my nephew Jordan Lee in an unmarked text. I jokingly asked him when did he start modeling? I went on to say further, and this person calls himself "Jordan", too! He claims the name is rare among boys, not so much now. So when I asked that question, I had all of these other thoughts/ideas swimming around. Like you would know that, right? When I think of New Jersey, I don't see this image....also, not a hint of an accent and possessing those predominately Southern "yes sirs.". Not that they are not respectful in New Jersey. I better stop before I dig the "ditch" bigger. Leave it to say, The "Pizza Boy" Anthony would be representative of the region...only in my eyes!

I loved all of the before sex banter with Jordan in his episodes. He always had an optimistic attitude and thrill to be here smile on his face....even when David would push him on the notion of anal. When he shook his head back and forth rapidly in his scene with Giovanni, that was so cute! Haha...my Jordan does that too when you mention green beans!!

This was my favorite episode with Jordan Grant.Not much background about Stephen, other than being Bi and from South America. Said very little, but reacted a lot in his bottom episode with Jordan. It is models like these, that grab my curiousity. They make 1 or 2 visits....BUT..those 1 or 2 visits are 4 to 5 star episodes.
Jordan got comfortable with him, too, pretty quickly. Knowing he was Bi upfront, and when Stephen was reacting in his passionate way, Jordan equally responded and went to the races. He did all of the instinctive and reflexive actions of a straight boy enjoying the sexual act and their dominant role. This would pass the "StudddAndy" test of dominance/submissiveness. When Stephen turned over on his back to missionary, and Jordan got back into the situation, those same instinctive behaviors returned.

With all of his qualities, outside just those of the physical, this esquisite BSB1 model is a gem, absolutely. He wanted to please and make those that were in his universal space at the time, comfortable and hopefully happy. I can say I was, Jordan Grant, via Broke Straight Boys

As for the accolades and high marks Mike, they are appreciated! I am glad I "slowed down" the pace. In doing so, I elliminated many but picked up those who I would have been sorry to have missed. Now I can continue back into Broke Straight Boys 2.0 with few doubts that I may have missed something.

And I checked out Jordan's model page and according to that he is from the same state as Bon Jovi, another young curly haired blonde from New Jersey. lol

Thanks so much for responding Tyler. I'm so glad you enjoyed the series. Whenever I do some intensive research to find things here in the forum I'm always wondering if it's worth it or appreciated. I'm very happy that you enjoyed the scenes and that the links to the scenes and the forum threads have been helpful for you.

For anyone reading this, please be assured that old forum threads are not sacred. lol What I mean by that is that if you want to add a post, write a response or comment on threads that are 1 month old or 9 years old...please have at it and post your thoughts to them. There's nothing wrong with bringing an old thread or conversation back to life. Anything that stirs new or renewed conversation is a good thing. Good conversation is what all forums are supposed to be about. As with so many conversations in our lifetime, when we look back on them we often see things from a different perspective. We humans often decide that a heartfelt belief we had on a situation 10 years or so ago was not correct, or perhaps not as intense as it seemed to us back then with the benefit of hindsight in the present.

Exactly Bartirah! That was the whole paradox of the Torin persona, bad mouthing gays and gay sex, but always rock hard even while still in his pants. Like so much of Broke Straight Boys-1, I took it as a little soap opera, with some good actors and some bad one's and some very hot one's and very hot sex, kind of a potpourri or a stew with David mixing the ingredients until he got the final product, sometimes delicious and sometimes not, but it sure held my interest, and as a result, I am still here, all these years later. lol

After two weeks far from here I just read the whole thread... But I wrote Tyler in private when I saw he was watching the BSSB-2 videos... I told him about Jimmy... I told him Mike would defend him and Tampa would say he was a pain in the ass... And it was all here... So now I see he already knew... lol

I have a clearly preference for Broke Straight Boys 1 director, but I like many models of Broke Straight Boys 2... I would tell Tyler to keep an eye on Bobby Owen (he is hot and super funny), Conner Chesney (I am not sure what I like so much about him... but he attracts my eyes like a magnet), Kodi (I have mix feelings for him... Sometimes I want to cuddle him and sometimes I think he he just an annoying kid), Spencer Todd (the most beautiful boy I have ever seen) and Max Flint There are some obvious ones, like Denver, Ayden Troy and Jason Matthews who are amazing too... But I guess you already know about them...
