Just an update from my lawyer, I got my job and my insurance back. But now that I need the next 6 mo. off they are going to try and fire me again.

I'm so sorry. Chemo is no way to lose weight. I'm sure you will face it with your usual grace and good humor. As to the employment issues I hope the lawyer can help you with that too. If they are able to fire you then you need to look at all help available to you through Social Security disability, food stamps, etc. There's no shame in getting that kind of help if you are battling a major illness.

I hope your lawyer can keep your insurance going a while longer at least. I don't claim to know the employment laws of Michigan. I certainly wish you the best of luck. Please know that we send our prayers and best wishes for your recovery and wellbeing.

My best to you I2. I went through Chemo myself back in 2000. Also had radiation treatments at the same time. If I'm not mistaking, my Chemo was once a week for eight weeks, then I had radiation therapy once a day for about 2 months. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep us posted on the latest saga with your employer and your lawyer. As Jayman stated, I think I smell a real "knock out drag down" law suit in the works.

and did your lawyer negotiate anything for some renumeration for unlawful discharge and violation of your rights? You may also want him to get a guarantee that you won't be let go and that they'll continue to pay your insurance. Just some thoughts.....
