Is anyone else experiencing unusually slow download speeds from the Broke Straight Boys websites today? It's telling me nearly 45 minutes to download the new Mark Curtis movie. It's never been more than 8 minutes to download.

No it's downloading fine for me. About 4 minutes for 301 MB at 1.5MB/sec
Try to reset your internet/router and see if it does the trick.

I don't have HD, and all the videos on Flash come over as a slow series of still photographs. This has been going on ever since the site went over to high definition, sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse. It's wild to hear the sound track communicating the wet slap slap of a royal fucking and only see a total of 8 blurred photos of a dick at various depths inserted in a dude's butt. If I go to portable and watch the Lilliputian version, it plays like a movie, but having to concentrate so hard on trying to see what's going on keeps the jacking off from being as much fun as it ought to be.:001_rolleyes::001_rolleyes:

Download speeds on this site vary. Sometimes I get about 1.8mb and sometimes I get as low as 85kb, but it's nothing to do with your local line. It's probably to do with the time of day that you're trying to download it and where you are in the world. I find the best time of day to download is when you goddamn yanks are fast asleep in bed. Don't forget if you're trying to download during the day you have all the regular internet traffic to contend with too so it's best to avoid this.

Of course it's always a good idea to try and download something from another site - not necessary porn site, to compare and doubly make sure it's nothing to do with your ISP. This is what I do as a safeguard however, the main reason I find is time of day. Hope this helps.

I always check my connection with: http://speedtest.net/
Routers DO need to be reset once in a while though.

jon, you're right about time of day. I'm an hour later than you are in Spain, and will try to wait till the goddamn yanks are asleep to do my wanking.

Scorpio: the test came up 5.16 Mb/s download and .53 Mb/s upload. How would you rate that?

And when you say "reset" do you mean simply re-boot?

Don't do a reset because if you have voip phones connected to the broadband like BT home hub, then you will lose all your contacts. Reboot or recycling the power as we in the industry say, turn off the power to your router for 20 or 30 seconds and turn back on again. It may also be worth rebooting your pc at the same time.

Thanks v. much jon.

I pay for 50mb download and 5mb upload, so regularly I check my connection with http://speedtest.net/, and if it doesn't show what I'm paying for, in my case, it always means I need to reboot the router. After I do so, my speed is back to normal.

I do like what Job said. Turn off the router, wait for 20 seconds and turn it back on again. Sometimes I ever reboot the computer at the same time too.

Job lol Stephaknee lol.. A small part of my job is diagnosing and fixing customers internet issues and if they complain of slow speeds this is what I advise them to do. Note the RESET button is generally on the side or below the router/hub but I would normally avoid that and just recycle the power. You could also clear out your temp internet files, browsing history, under internet options, this helps too.

Hi, There does seem to be a problem with streaming since Tuesd. Both the latest Broke Straight Boys and College Boy Physicals films streams are slow and stop. Normally when I get this I try and download and if the download speed is also slow then I blame the network or time of day.

However, since Tues the download speeds have been excellent but streaming very very poor. Please take a look

I noticed that too, but now it's improved for me since taking your advice.

Hey guys,

Just a heads up, we will be monitoring the speeds of the site this week closely. For any irregularities in speed and performance on the servers.

I need to know does anyone see a pattern where its the time of the day is slower or certain days? This will help me troubleshoot so I compare it to backups we have running on the backend.

Thanks,
Chuck

It is 7.20am here. I tried to download the HD quality quicktime movie of Shane and Josh.... Download speed is 5.3MB/sec.

Then I tried to stream it, and it's not playing at all for me. It's still showing the quicktime logo after 3 minutes. I tried the "medium quality", same thing, it took 30 seconds for the movie to start playing.

Update: Ok for me it's a problem with Quicktime MP4, I have no problems streaming the .WMV files, but have problems with the Quicktime ones.

ALL episodes prior to MIKE & LEON (HD) - Jul 21, 2010 can stream files with no problems. ONLY the episodes after MIKE & LEON (HD) - Jul 21, 2010 , don't stream the quicktime files for me.

Has to be something with the rendering of those files.

Hey guys, we did find a couple issues during certain times where it can be slower, we have done some things to speed it up and will be re-rendering some videos so they stream faster.

So still keeping an eye on things, if anyone notices speed issues let us know.

Thanks!
~ Chuck

As I was watching the Nelson and Gino scene last night, it kept stopping to buffer, then it would play and then stop to buffer again.
Haven't tried to watch anything yet tonight.
