The Virtual Coffee Shop, Diner And Corner Pub

I don't know what you have missed. Actually, I don't even know what I have missed other than I have not seen you pop up from time to time. Sometimes it is good to take a little breather from the forums as I have been doing to catch up on life as you have. It feels good to touch base with you again.
Why don't you guys meet up in Ybor City at a real coffee shop instead of the virtual one here???? lol

We will, Mikey, when time permits. Understand, we are not necessarily around the corner from each other. Even mid-point, it would take me an hour to get there. I am in Spring Hill and he is in St. Petersburg.

I know a good gay bar in Ybor City if it's still there. I haven't been there in almost 30 years though. lol

You are probably referring to El Goya. I have not been there in as many or maybe more years than you have. The last I heard it was transforming into a straight bar but still gay friendly.

I have a long history with that place. Originally, it was Las Novedades Restaurant. The main dining room was called the Goya Room because it showcased a mural painted by the Artist Goya. It was very popular during my youth in that we would take our dates there during prom season, etc. Many college folks would also gather there for Fraternity and Sorority functions. That last time I ate there was in the 60's when I had come home on leave while in the military. My girlfriend at the time (yes, I did date girls back then to keep up an image) wanted us to go out with me dressed in my dress blues. We ate there that night. Eventually the restaurant got sold and became the El Goya and later Tracks. I only went there a couple of times since I had moved to St. Petersburg. My Grandfather also worked there as a waiter way before my dating years. That's my history lesson for the day. Here's a pic of the place which stands on the corner of 15th Street and 7th Avenue.

The El Goya is exactly what I was referring to. I never saw it in the daytime though. Thanks for the history lesson...I never knew any of that.

My best friend at the time, his wife, I and my girlfriend at the time, used to go there quite often to take in the drag shows. The girls had no idea that my best friend and I were having an affair on the side. (Maybe Peter is right, I am a slut. lol)

Back then, there were several different bars within the establishment, ie. a gay bar, a country/western bar, a rock bar, a piano bar, etc. We had a lot of good times there.

Thanks Louis.

Don't worry, buckeye. Most of us who were in hetero marriages during our coming out journey were sluts.

Yes guys,

I have very happy memoires of El Goya in Tampa from back in the day. In the 80's when I came out it was THE place to be. It was also one of the only clubs that required you to be 21, even though other bars would serve you (legally in the state of Florida at that time) from the age of 18 and up. As Louis says, it went from El Goya to Tracks. Then it got renamed something else. I have to take Louis' word for it that it's a straight club now. I haven't been there in many years.

You know I love slutty people as long as their BUTCH!!!!! xoxo

Nice win for the Spartans tonight. Now, its time for me to go see how hot the straight boys are in the Columbus Campus Bars, hopefully I will have a story to tell

Nice life you live Sparty, following your team on the road and then checking out the college boy fans on the road as well. Please keep us in mind if there is a story to tell. :001_cool:

Today is February 28th, the night of the Oscars. I am torn between two Actors for Leading Role, Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon. Leonardo won my heart when he starred in the sitcom, Growing Pains, and then again at the age of 19 in the drama, What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Matt Damon? He makes my mouth drool. That splendid ass he displayed on "The Martian" was to slurp up and worship.

Ok, enough of this. I don't want to bring on an unwarranted coronary before the show.

Later,
Louis

March Madness

Its that time of year and yes, my favorite time of year. Looking forward to seeing the Spartans take it all this year. They are playing some amazing basketball right now

I didn't see your post, Stowe, until now. I don't worry about it. I actually wear the slut badge with honor. I think Peter is just jealous. lol
