i was just wondering what some of you prefer when it comes to tattoos?
are they a turn on/off for you?
are they a big deal to you?
do you have any yourself, if so what?

i obviously am all for tattoos as i have a couple myself,
i think there pretty sexy on most as long as there not covered but thats personal preference..
each of my tattoos have a specific meaning to me :D

I think tattoo's are fucking hot on a guy. Well within reason, no all over the neck and back! Like Ms K said design and placement can be very hot. I have the Rolling Stones tongue logo on my shoulder that I got when I was 17 and going to my first Stones concert. Was so excited about showing it off, then realized the local rock station was passing out fake ones to the crowd and everybody had them:( my friends laughed their asses off. I also have my departed partners initials on my leg "WWIII" well thats another funny story. After I got it I was golfing one day with this older gent and he whispered something to his friend "war lover" and I looked over at him and he was talking about me. So I said what? he motioned to my tattoo and I laughed because it looks like world war 3 reference so I explained to him it was my buddy's initial and I hadn't realized it til then. So I will eventually add-on to it so nomore confusion haha

I absolutely love tattoos, but not when they cover every inch of your body. I think they can be beautiful and/or sexy. I don't have any, but that is on my bucket list. Same goes for piercings. Love nipple rings, and again, I have none. But I will one day. Maybe, lol

Okay, it may just be me, but since there has not been a WW3, I wouldn't see the confusion; just sayin'.

Well hell, if you don't mind sharing...alright, I'll settle for the meaning in your tattoos; someone else is definitely very lucky!

Hmmm...interesting question, Carter, some of the boys who have been on Broke Straight Boys have a heap of tattoos and piercing all over the place and I find that a total turn off, for me that's a really messy look. But a discreet few that have a personal meaning I think look fine. Although having said that, I'm completely fascinated by Jason's smooth, tattoo and piercing free body....

No tattoos here either. Thought about putting my exes names on but then they would cover my whole body.. he he... jk

I love tattoos on men. I also love no tattoos on men. I personally have a ton of them covering my whole body. I will tell you there is nothing sexier than seeing your name tattooed on a man. :) Especially your favorite porn model. **wink wink**

P.S. I will be putting a dollar in the douche jar for bragging about that.

Oh MissDeidra,
You're such a gas!:smiley-love021:

I'm in agreement with Ms. K here. Depends on who, what and where... I've got 8, but only one of them is visible if I'm completely dressed. As with Carter, each one has a special meaning behind it. Ones for my deceased Dad, 3 are for, or about, 1 ex, 1 for another, 2 others match the design, but not location on, my bestie, and the last, the visible one, is an Ohm symbol, which I got at a time when I needed to feel grounded and connected to some greater energy.

Even sleeves can be hot though, on a big muscle-bears arm! ;)

And it may be hypocritical, but, in MOST cases, I don't like tattoos on women, unless it's something big and spectacular. Just no butterflies, faeries or tramp stamps...

Awwww, you aren't into the "tinkerbell" tattoo? At one time I wanted to get a flower design on one of my feet, but I am such a chicken. I just couldn't do it.

Tatoos must be artistic quality first of all. Not any haphazardly design will do!

If you feel like your body is your billboard to your soul, please don't diminish your impact by overburdening your body, littering it with random and poorly conceived "post-it notes" quality tats. I feel having permanent tatoos applied, while on a drinking binge for no particular reason other than male bonding, would be time better spent without the booze and getting to share something intimate and/or special, not necessarily sexual, with a close friend to build on a good lasting relationship.

There isn't enough money in the world to ever convince me getting tatoos is where I want to be, just like getting piercings. I save that for the pros and don't have to mess with all the repair work later on. Your body is, in its own way, a piece of art and far better than anything that can be purchased and applied externally by some stranger with questionable sanitation conditions in even the best of tatoo parlors. Just view it like the following:

You would never even risk having your tonsils removed in a place
with similarly hygenic conditions. Why can you not simply let well enough alone???
DON'T BE IMPULSIVE AND GO OFF THE DEEP END!

While I never condemn anyone for seeking these body modifications, I hate to see young people of both genders feeling compelled that this is the only way to express their on individuality. Where is their creativity or their ability to communicate with others? Does anything of merit have to be presented in marketing format like some advertisement?

Obviously this is "ONLY MY OPINION" and we each are entitled to having our own unique views!

Sincerely,

Stimpy

OK, I have to weigh in on this on as me, not the queen mother. I have seven, all of them done by my son, yes, my son Josh is a tattoo artist. Most of them was designed by him or myself, except for my first "ex" tattoo, which Carl designed the cover for when he married me, just so he wouldn't always have another guy's name in his face, well, I'm sure ya'll get the idea there. Anyway, as far as location, if I swim naked, I look like I'm wearing a speedo, otherwise they are all "noseeums".

Josh has a half brother who has both sleeves, full torso and half back, yet Josh himself has none! Oh, and Carl has two, upper back and shoulder, one is our fraternity symbol, (LCA) the other is a cartoon Mako Shark.

Forgot to mention, Stimpy, that I also have several piercings, we can discuss later. LOL!

I like tattoos. I have none. Yet. I enjoy studying the ink others have put on their bodies and learning the story behind them. I found it interesting to listen to Mike Robbins talk about his ink. His tats were so controversial. People hated the randomness of his tats, but he was just playing around, learning the craft, trying things out. Self taught tattoo artists are brave to try on their own flesh. I admire that commitment to their craft.

If you have the pleasure of seeing Cole Gartner on the tour this summer, check out his ink. He's got a wonderful bird on his upper arm. Check it out. It's simple and pretty. Love him! Ink or no, he's a total dream boat.
