Yes, yet another music thread but this time it's more personal. I've been listening to music from all over the World and as well as enjoying the music I have been tending to think of forum members from that part of the world. For instance I love Neil Finn but as he's a Kiwi and we don't have a regular Kiwi on here, then he reminds me of Grace.

So here goes..

First one goes out to Grace, my lil Tasmanian devil

Most important line - You can't break our love.

This next one reminds me of my dear friend Ambi, primarily because of his avatar of Winston Churchill, who amongst others, dedicated his life in making this world a better and safer place to live. Just watch the video and imagine what kind of world we would be in if we had lost.

Well it wasn't the video I expected to see but I suppose Churchill couldn't fix everything. Unfortunately there will always be poor and rich in this world.

I would rather post a happier song for MikeYank and I'm sure I will in the future, this one is rather sad but its a great song nevertheless. It's with another two of my favourite musicians Neil Young and Eddie Vedder (yes another Aussie). It was part of the Tribute to Heros concert.

I quote a Youtube post which I couldn't have put better

"When I saw Eddie Vedder perform this song, it was literally the first moment, after the chilling terror and indescribable agony of 9/11, that I felt the smallest glimmer of hope again that the world was not truly ending. Vedder's heartfelt performance, his face and voice filled with such poignant sorrow and deep compassion, reminded me that there truly was Good left in the world. Eddie Vedder is so often such a pure embodiment of that Good and the Hope for better days to come. Thank You, Eddie!!"

This last one for the moment is for anyone who is looking for Paradise but hasn't yet found it. Don't look too far, it may be closer than you think.

Wow, what a wonderful idea, Jon!

This song isn't at all French inspired but the line 'It's only right that you should play the way you feel it' reminds me of our French Forumite Milla

This one is for Erikthbod...best line, two actually, 'I aint gonna be another face in the crowd' and 'Like Frankie said I did it my way'

This one is for all my forum friends...

And now I have to go to bed before I get too soppy and start freaking people out!

Here's one for happy Tampa.

Thanks Jon!

Gloria Estefan is a favorite artist of mine from the late 80's early 90's especially. She's a sexy and sassy Latina from South Florida. And yes. Her music is happy. lol

I also love Lady Antebellum and have that College Dudes. Ricky's a lucky guy. :)

I love this song and remember seeing this live. I have been fortunate enough to have met Eddie and most of Pearl Jam e few times over the years. Seattle is a "big city" but if you've ever been here it has a small hometown feeling. It is very common to see stars from here walking down the street, shopping or just out for a coffee.

Wow you lucky so and so. But I thought Eddie was Australian - maybe I'm wrong. What I do know is that Neil Young's music had a big impact on Eddie and Pearl Jam's music and of course the introduction of Grunge.

Thank you Jon, and while 9/11 and the aftermath were some of the darkest days of my life, especially living in Brooklyn Heights overlooking the East River, directly across from the WTC, where two stacks of smoke eerily in the shape of the defunct towers remained for the next day and the sickly smelly foul air lingered for at least a week, but our city and our country survived the attacks, and so I appreciate your tribute to my fair city.

One note though, you mentioned that Eddie Vedder was an Aussie, and I thought of him as an American singer from Pearl Jam, and so I checked it out and he was born on December 23, 1964, in Evanston, Illinois, so I don't see the Aussie connection.
