Ponderings for April 16th 2022

And yes Chac, I did find myself at the Beach Volleyball Pier, the soccer field, and the sports pier with the basketball courts, admiring the “athleticism“ of some of the young men playing while I admired.

LOL, I was at the beach myself on a walk.... and admiring those guys who were shirtless 😋 Only had a few yesterday and one today, but damn I got close enough to see the perky nipples on this fine college lad, it was a bit nippley I mean nippy at 62 today 😏

Just got off my peloton too, did a 30 minutes ride with Cody Rigsby, I like his rides, I could stare all day at that chest and those muscular legs 😍

Very positive reinforcement for your workouts Chac. Sounds great. :thumbup1:

Almost 67 lbs down, (77 from my highest weight.) I had bit of a plateau for a few weeks but I kept at it and broke through.

I‘m very proud of you Chac. That’s a lot of weight and plateaus can be frustrating, but they are often followed by another big loss. Keep up the GREAT work, my friend. :001_smile:

What's on everyone's mind? How are YOU all doing??

I'm thinking about putting myself out there to find a cute guy... I'm tired of being in this queen size bed all alone LOL As I'm losing the weight I find my self confidence coming back. It's a bit strange to think of myself as sexy; when I look in the mirror I'm starting to see a handsome guy, not a tub of lard 😂

I still have a long journey ahead (over 100lbs to go!) but the other day as I was taking a yoga class on my Peloton app, I was able to bend over and touch the floor without falling over... Something simple for so many people, but something I haven't been able to do for decades...

I am so proud of you Chac. Keep up the diet and exercise. You are still young and when I was in my thirties I dieted and worked out. And my body and my self confidence improved incredibly. And I got a few cute boyfriends and some just sex hookups. Please keep up the great work my friend. Much love buddy.

Tonight I was pondering on how excited I am that New York City is all the way back from the plague of 2020 and 2021, with the city basically closed down for almost two years, with people leaving the city and empty streets and restaurants. I argued with friends and coworkers who said that New York City was dead. And I said it was temporary and I was right.

Tonight I met family members to celebrate my brother’s niece's birthday at a beautiful new restaurant in Hudson Yards on the west side of the city. People were out on a beautiful almost summer night. The restaurant was packed and there is a vitality as people were out and about on a Tuesday night.

And on my way home at 9 PM the subway was packed primarily with young people. I was probably the oldest person on the two subway trains I took. Here are some of the sights of a packed and safe New York City subway later on a weekday evening. (And yes Chac, I always notice the cuties on the train too.).

Today I'm pondering what I ate yesterday that had me up all night. Must be a stomach bug going around 😷

Whelp I'm feeling much better, and horny as hell 😆

An interesting lawsuit is going on in my state: There is a boy that is suing a school district because he can't wear a "there are only two genders" Tshirt to school, the administrators asked him to remove it to be able to go to class. Call me a bit cynical, but I highly doubt that a middle school student would be spearheading this......

Wow. The backlash in this country from the right against the LGBT community is getting very scary and as you suggest Chac, parents again are using their children as pawns to promote their hateful agenda. In this month of Pride, I am seeing more and more regression this year. Very sad……

This morning is a beautiful almost summer day. I’m pondering the gradual change of seasons from March to April and then May to June. I started really noticing this when I was in my fifties or maybe sixties as I realized that there are a finite number of years that I will be able to enjoy the beauty and magnificence of Mother Nature.

These are two of the pics I posted on this thread a few months ago as the change was beginning this year.

So my ponderings are around my shitty day LOL It started off this morning as I was on a conference call at home for work and my refrigerator decided to blow up, it made this horrific popping grinding noise and stopped working. So after packing up all my food and dropping it off at various relatives houses so I wouldn't lose it, I went to go have my blood test for my specialist visit in Boston for next week. I've been fasting all day and by the time I got to the lab it was probably close to 11:00 a.m. I wait in line for about a half an hour and come to find out the doctor never submitted any of the lab work. So a waste of a trip 🤦 I swing by several appliance stores and nobody has anything in stock that will fit in the space of my refrigerator, closest time they can get one is late next week 😢

Good news is my brother had a dorm refrigerator that I could at least keep a gallon of milk and a few snacky type things in until my new refrigerator comes in...

How is everybody else's day today?

Damn, that was a real shitty day! lol My grandmother used to tell me when I complained, “That should be the worst thing that ever happens to you”. But at the time it is the worst thing. You actually seem pretty calm about dealing with all that frustration, but maybe by the time you wrote it last night, you had calmed down. I absolutely hate when “little” things go wrong, although dealing with your broken refrigerator and your doctor fucking up on not scheduling your lab work, seems incredibly frustrating.

My day was good. I finished up my two day work week yesterday, and am dealing with chores today, laundry, a dentist appointment, food shopping, bla bla bla. lol I sure hope today goes a lot better for you Chac! :thumbup1:

Today was much better! I found a refrigerator that I think will work ( it's from a locally owned store so even better supporting local businesses instead of big box stores 😀) the price will be a massive horse pill to swallow (over 2k 🤑😫), but hey that's what the rainy day fund is for right? LOL

I didn't hear back from the Doc today so I get to reschedule my appointment next week as there is no point in having it unless they have the blood work to see how my liver is doing 😕 I hate it when people don't do stuff they are supposed to 😡

Fantastic about the refrigerator. And yes, that is what your rainy day fund is for. And I couldnt agree more about the doctor not doing what he was supposed to do. Infuriating. :scared:

I slept about 4 hours last night and just got home, I'm a sleepy dude right now. I hope everyone's day was good! I got to watch my nephew play baseball and have dinner with the fam, so it was a good day

I am pondering on an old subject for me, yet still a very good one about how blessed I am to be living in Brooklyn Heights, one of New York City’s most expensive neighborhoods at a very affordable rent due to New York’s rent stabilization laws. I’ve been living here for over 50 years and my one bedroom, first floor apartment is still going to cost me under $1000 per month when my new two year lease starts in October.

I just looked up average rents in this neighborhood and saw this. “As of June 2023, the average rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights, New York, NY is $3,650. This is a 8% decrease compared to the previous year. month,” So the fair market rent may have decreased but I am still getting an incredible deal.

Here is a map showing how close Brooklyn Heights is to lower Manhattan and I have every possible subway line right here and the Long Island Railroad is just one subway stop away. Again I am very fortunate to be living on a ground floor apartment with no stairs to walk up and down in a beautiful and safe neighborhood.

Holy shit Mike, that's an amazing deal! (I pay around that for my condo mortgage and condo fees!) If I was renting it would be $1800 - 2400 for a 1 bed\1 bath. A 3 bed house will set you back 3000. I honestly don't know how the hell young adults can afford to live...
