Ponderings for April 16th 2022

Fall and spring have great variabliity in temperatures from one day to the next, which is why flu and colds have a field day on most people.

First a shoutout to Chac for starting this thread, as it is a great place to just ponder on life…..

With the talk about climate change and weather, we’re having a remarkable day here in New York City. After a stormy day yesterday with the remnants of Hurricane Nicole with us, today the sun has come out and it is 68 Fahrenheit right now at 9:40 AM. My two friends who I often do stuff with are both out of town, so I will need to enjoy the outdoors on my own. I am planning to break out my Powerbeats headphones for my ipad and explore the park and any good looking guys doing the same today! :sneaky2:

Next Saturday, I have one of my organized New York City walks scheduled and the long range forecast is 45 and sunny, which is actually much better walking weather for this time of year! I hope the forecast stays accurate.

One more rambling ponder for this morning.

I’ve mentioned many times how I absolutely love YouTube, and with the recommendation of Chac, I subscribe to YouTube Premium to get commercial free viewing. I spend most of my time in front of my big TV when not watching news or sports watching YouTube. But I also listen in bed at night and last night I thought of a song I hadn’t heard in many years. It was ”Nantucket Sleighride” recorded by the hard rock band Mountain in 1971. I found a 17 minute live version as as I was listening I looked at the comments provided by viewers and the first one said, “Seventy-five years old and I’m still digging this. Just wish I had a room with very large speakers that I could play very loudly and some good hash to smoke.”

And there were 243 replies to his post. This is what makes YouTube so cool that it can bring people together from all over the world with similar interests. (Come to think of it, like the Broke Straight Boys Forum once did). But I just wanted to ponder on this phenomenon here this morning. I love YouTube for so much content from music to history to pop culture to cute guys! Always cute guys! 😆

I had to run into town to get some stuff from Home Depot and on my way there I had the AC on full blast, I had done my laundry and was all sweaty from running up and down a zillion flights of stairs 🤣 I looked at the temperature gauge on my car and it said 75 degrees. I can't believe it, November and it's 75!!!! We are normally in the 40s, maybe 50 ish max now.

Glad you like YouTube premium! Don't forget your subscription also includes YouTube music so you can rock out with some Iron Butterfly too if you want 🙃

Are you sure you’re not a baby boomer yourself Chac? How do you know Iron Butterfly and the iconic In A Gaddia DaVida? Were you hanging out with me in college tripping on some good blotter acid?

Although a baby boomer (early) those names mean nothing to me.

I’m listening to your link for "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", right now Chac. And it is amazing how the music of our youth can transport us in time. I can clearly see my college dorm and all my buddies in our rooms with towels rolled up under our dorm doors to block the smell of pot from the R.A. Little did we Freshmen know that the R.A. Was getting high too.
Thanks for the memories buddy!

While pot did nothing for me coke I enjoyed.

I am thankful that I never got heavily into cocaine. The first time I tried it was in the late seventies when I was in my late twenties. I went to Atlantic City with a friend and we were in a casino and he offered it to me. It was an incredible high in the bright lights of the casino and I played the slots for hours and what a thrill when I won and the lights and the bells and whistles went off but I never got too heavily into it.

I started smoking pot and hash during Freshmen year in college and actually continued to smoke until fairly recently, in 2015. I developed walking pneumonia, and my “former” doctor did not diagnose it properly and I kept getting sicker. When I tried to smoke a joint, my coughing was painful. After finally being diagnosed properly, I was admitted to the hospital and actually having lung surgery, to remove fluid that had accumulated in my lung, I decided to stop smoking entirely. It’s been over seven years since I smoked any pot, but it is just a personal choice. I went several months without getting high and so I decided I just don’t need to smoke anymore. However in my mind, smoking pot is less harmful or dangerous than drinking alcohol. Whereas coming home from work and having a drink or two has been considered “normal” behavior in our society, for me coming home and smoking a bowl or joint was my way to unwind and relax after work. Finally, the laws are changing state by state to legalize marijuana. It never made any sense to me for alcohol to be legal, but pot not????

What a difference a day makes!!!!

Yesterday was a sunny 70 degree day and I spent the afternoon wandering through Brooklyn Bridge Park, enjoying the sunshine and the pretty guys in shorts and t shirts, lol. But today is rainy and raw outside. It is in the 50’s now but going down another ten degrees later today. But I am grateful that yesterday was so nice out.

As I was out this morning, I noticed the wind blowing the leaves in the trees, but it is still pretty. Hopefully the pretty colors will last another few weeks before the harsh realities of winter begin to set in!!!

Mike, always grateful for your great pictures. As to drugs, they came to me later than normal in my life & while coke had no adverse affects on me, it did lower my inhibitions & that led to a inadvertent experience which had big effects on my life, both positive & negative.

Mike, always grateful for your great pictures.

Thanks br. The older I get, the more I am appreciating the beauty of architecture, history and nature. And having my iPhone now for over two years, I feel compelled to stop and capture images of what I see and consider beautiful around me. I’m glad that you enjoy my sharing my images here on the forum!

I am a huge fan of the YouTube Premium option. I Love not having to deal with all the commercials as well as enjoying a few other perks of the membership. :)

It’s interesting that I never gave my bed much thought until buying a new one. I should have asked the forum about it first. You guys have some great advice. But I am very comfortable and sleeping well, so I’m sure I’ll get used to being an extra few inches in the sky lol

As far as the warmth and humidity the last few days, I agree Chac. I’m ready for a little winter. But if that gets too extreme, I may regret saying that too. 🥶
Yes. You know the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for." haha When blizzard conditions are upon you, and you're possibly left with no electricity or heat... You might be singing a different tune. haha

Just ask Ted Cruz. Bwahahaha

Thanks for responding Tampa. I am going through that exact thing now. I find if I slide to the edge of the bed, with my butt sort of leaning and sitting I am able to put my shoes on. But on Tuesday when the bed was delivered I definitely felt like a little kid with my legs dangling from the bed.

Also when I reach down to my night table, it is a longer reach, just adjustments I need to make. It’s funny how the salesman in the store never mentioning the height of the box spring.

But if I sit smack dab on the bed, I feel like this little kid. lol

Our situations kinda remind me of Lily Tomlin. haha

What the world of porn provides is a respite from the horrors of much of real life. Of course it also has its pitfalls.

You can blame my Dad for that one! It came on SiriusXM radio one time, Dad cranked up the volume and was rocking out for like 17 minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I tried to lower the volume a bit but I got the "don't you dare touch that" glare 😂

So maybe it was your dad hanging out with me, tripping to Iron Butterfly back in the day! 😅

I have to say your old man has great taste, with both Arlo Guthrie and Iron Butterfly.

This could go on Reddit's sub for TIFU (today I fucked up) 🤨

Ok, y'all I just had a moment of pure panic and I'll let you all laugh at me (or with me now)🤣 I was having some "me time" with a new toy that I had bought during the pandemic and never really used before (it's a Lovense Hush) and I of course did the stupid thing and got the larger one. Well on with the story... as I've said before, I am a very large dude and I got myself prepped and popped it in after 20 minutes or so of warming up. Well a time a bit later I'm done and time to remove it and the damn thing won't come out, I can't get a good enough grip on it 😳 It's in there like a Chinese finger trap!

Now as it is, access to the rear department is already a bit of a challenge being large, and OMG my arms were burning and my back killing me twisting and turning trying to get a grip on the hooked handle to pull the damn thing out. I'm laying on my bed thinking I'm gonna have to figure out a way to somehow MacGyver this or suck it up and go to urgent care and turn 75 shades of red explaining why I was there (and pay a $200 deductible)🤣

I was contemplating using a pair of channel lock plyers or maybe some vise grips and it finally dawned on me to just wash off the damn lube and see if that would help, so after a quick jump in the shower I finally was able to get the dang thing out (ouch!) Only my pride and a huge scratch from one of my nails on my ass cheek were the causality of the fiasco. Lesson learned, bigger is NOT always better 🤪

Hope everyone's day was good, I'm just gonna go to bed now and contemplate getting a FWB for playtime instead of toys 🤣🤣
