Mark...Here's my constructive criticism for the day: Apparently Jimmy is eventually gonna be doing a BrokeJimmy thread, and chatting with us on the forum. I personally would far rather get to know "Matthew" first. If he got in here, like tomorrow at the latest, and started fielding some questions and quibbles, you'd have this whole thing defused in no time. I really like the sound of him, and think he'd be terrific in a forum situation. Is there any chance of that?

That was from a month ago. Mark answered that he'd decide later whether to ask Matthew, who preferred to be known as Clay, to get on and interface with us. I'd already said earlier that we'd love to see what he looked like.

Mark dude, we think it would be awesome to see what we hear, and maybe as a compromise to read his 10 Random Facts, even if he doesn't get on here to chat any time soon.

Getting down to business...

Denny and Mike I couldn't agree with you more. The fact that we get introduced to the more popular models in areas of the site like BTS helps humanize them in the eyes of us members. It's just one more thing that sets BSB apart from other sites.

For instance the BTS vid of MikeR only helped improve the standing of an already popular model. He came across as such a nice young man that many of us would not have minded just meeting him for a cup of coffee. With no sexual motives at all. Now we have videos like that of fine young men for posterity. Rest in Peace dear Mike.

I agree with Denny that for Clay to stand or sit in front of the camera would improve his standing just as it has for other models who have talked openly on BTS. Not that we don't already like him of course. I'm sure though that it is not a question of if, but when he will do it. I will not force the issue though. When Clay decides that he is ready and willing to do that, we will thank him for the gesture.

The idea of doing this interview was pure brilliance. It came at just the right time. It also reinforced everything Mark was trying to tell us. For one that Clay reads all the threads related to his scenes. And secondly but perhaps most importantly...Mark has told us repeatedly when the posts have gone very negative towards models on a personal level...that it's quite possible the models themselves are reading those posts. So here he made sure that we saw the models doing just that.

Obviously there are plenty of models who will read reviews of their work here in the forum with no prodding whatsoever from Mark or Clay to do so. They are given free memberships to the site so they can see how the finished product of their scenes turned out. So it only makes sense that some of them would be curious to see what the viewers themselves thought of their scenes.

Don't think for a minute that in addition to Mark wanting to give us the pleasure of being introduced to them in a non porn setting...that he had another motive as well. I'm sure he took some small pleasure in knowing that some members would be squirming in their seats. lol A not so subtle reminder that when we say negative things about models (or staff) that we are talking about real human beings.

It may be "what is good for the goose is good for the gander". I would imagine that most of those negative comments were intended to prompt Broke Straight Boys members viewed as "much needed change". Reading those comments certainly didn't make me squirm. I have said nothing that I felt was deliberately "hateful", "mean-spirited", or just "belly-aching for it's own sake". My "negative comments" were all intended as "Constructive Feedback" on my favorite porn site that has abandoned it's roots, just like the established models were all tragically abandoned too. Regrettably wiping the slate clean. Unfortunately, many former great members were needlessly sacrificed for this experiment too.

Surely, the infamous "bottom of the barrel" episodes we were forcefed for months on end for the most part were substandard. This was all done in the name of improving the site. Even back then, I warned sometimes people get what is asked for, and I do think for the most part, many weren't really pleased with what we got. Somehow, this got miscommunicated to Mark and/or Clay and we have all suffered greatly as a consequence, but things are finally starting to settle down. Things are improving slowly, in baby steps. I just wished all of this uproar could have been avoided and we could have had many more new entertaining Broke Straight Boys-2 episodes that most of us might want to revisit. I certainly know I won't be revisiting them and optimistically consider them as the "bottom of the barrel-2".

Lets forever vow to give the "bottom of the barrel-anything" the old "heave-ho" permanently! Lets do what this site does best, make gay porn to be appreciated by a diverse audience, as in keeping with the tradition of this site!

Dear Stimpy,

In no way was I was pointing fingers at or accusing any particular members. I am with you buddy. I certainly post negative feedback on models or episodes that I don't like. I have no problem calling a spade a spade. In a new enterprise like Broke Straight Boys 2.0 if a few toes get stepped on in the process of members giving constructive criticism...well that's the way it is when starting something new. How else will they know what they are doing right and what they are doing wrong? I will even go as far as to say that some negative feedback, constructive criticism, etc, was/is necessary in the beginning of 2.0.

For us longtime members and posters in the forum we are some of the biggest cheerleaders of the site. If we didn't like it so much and want so much for it to be successful, then we wouldn't post anything negative. We would just take our money and leave. Even when we are giving negative opinions on things, we are showing how much we care about keeping the site on top within the industry.

So not every post from every poster in here is going to be a ray of sunshine. Big deal. Nothing wrong with that. Not every model or scene is going to be worthy of praise. I'm kind of reminded of the motto they use at celebrity roasts. In defining the parameters of how far they will go as far as critiquing and picking on the guest of honor, they say something like, "We may singe, but we won't burn." I think that's a reasonable kind of standard to go by in here.

Some may see some negative comments as "hateful" while others may see them as constructive criticism. It's very subjective. Funny how most of us will define our own comments as the latter rather than the former, huh? lol I admit that I do that.

This is a free country and as adults in here we are allowed to say what we want without censorship. I may be reading my own interpretation into what Mark was aiming for when he had them do the BTS vid. But I think he is just asking for civility.

I don't think that may of us saw pirated Broke Straight Boys videos. Even on x-tube Broke Straight Boys allowed those clips as advertising. I myself found Broke Straight Boys by surfing the free sites that had adds and teaser clips on them. But those teaser clips were approved by Broke Straight Boys

After watching Jimmy in the New York videos and on this one, I have a totally different opinion of him. He responded to the negativity probably the way I would. But, all he needs to do is show some of that BTS or NYC personality in his BSB episodes and I think the feelings of many will change for the better.

Hi Jimmy. It's your "dawg", Mikeyank. I have to thank Tampa for correcting my spelling, because I first thought it was spelled like it sounds "dog". I'm glad you're a lifelong Yankee fan, and I watched your behind the scenes here in NYC and you seem to like our city too.

You are right about people calling your personality FAKE and thinking that you are an actor. I think that you are a genuine young kid from the way you talk, and goof around with Clay and your fellow models. What I enjoy about you, besides your great looks, is that you do seem to be natural and yourself on screen and in the BTS shoots, (NYC and on the bed with Jamie and Bobby reading our posts).

As far as enjoying the gay sex scenes, there are a hardcore bunch of members here who "insist" that all of the "straight" guy's kiss, and get fucked here too. I actually am turned on by a good looking straight kid like you who knows that he is hot and how we like to see you naked and having sex and shooting your load. But others say that you are not earning your pay because you don't take a dick in your ass. I think you are fine being who you are, and that is a real nice guy who looks good and is great to watch on screen.
