Micro intro

The saying "the grass is greener on the other side" rings true. Saying that I would love to visit the Southern hemisphere and especially Oz and NZ. I would of course pop in and see Grace.

I love England, but it's kinda stuffy. The easiest way to get from the UK to NZ is via South America. If needed, I'd take you in. <33a

"Stuffy" is not the right word. Hard to explain. I've been there twice, and each time I felt like... a very energetic vibe AND a dense vibe too. Dense as in heavy. I think it's the sheer history of the place, if you're a bit sensitive you'll definitely feel it. This makes no sense LOL. ((jon)) <33a.

I can relate to that Andy. When I was there last year I could feel a sense of all the history and toil swirling around me that it took to create such a great civilization. To think that as we're in the streets of London that Roman centurions walked some of those same paths in "Londinium" thousands of years ago. It is at once both humbling and exhilarating. :)

Maybe you feel rather enclosed in our little island ?, especially if you were in one of the big cities. I am not a fan of enclosed or busy places either however, London for example, does have large parks within it's boundaries. I work in Leeds which is not such a big city compared to London, but is much more friendly and less busy and the people actually communicate. London people, like New York, are far too busy to be bothered about chatting to strangers, they just want to get about their business.

You could have noticed the red London buses then Tampa. They're as iconic as the New York yellow taxis. There is currently a series on the BBC about the London bus service called "The Route Masters - Running London's Roads". It's a fascinating series which looks at the way the city of london's buses operate, their drivers and the controllers who have the unenviable job of ensuring the buses arrive on time.

Andy, being in a small island might have something to do with it. But, say, the oldest building in Cali harks all the way back to 1750-1800 :p Like Tampa said, the vibe of being in a city that basically dates back to the Roman Empire is heavy and.. heady ;) Come to think of it, London might be my favorite city to visit (closely followed by Bs As and NY). All the greenery makes a big difference, settling down in a park with a sandwich and coffee, people watching, is an attraction in itself lol. <33a. ps. I'll check out Leeds @google maps

Jon, I've figured it out. There's this undercurrent of decadence (in a good way). As in excessive stimulation... Or an overflow of "stuff" going on. It's a weird.. but nice feeling. <33a.

What do you mean by stuffy ?
For whatever reason, as long as I can remember, I've heard the British referred to as "stuffy". I did a search and found this comment on something called "Yahoo Answers".

Are the British modern and forward-thinking or are they stuffy and rather archaic like their royals?

The British "brand" is personified to the rest of the world by the British royals. Is that what most British people are really like -- rather stuffy, aloof, and stuck in the past? I am young and have not yet travelled to Britain to get to know British people. I'm just curious.

I am not a fan of stereotypes, but this one has always been out there. I would have thought that with the "British invasion" of music in the 1960's that stereotype might have ended, for I don't think anyone could call John Lennon or Mick Jagger, or even later Freddy Mercury "stuffy".

Goddammit! I just lost the post I'd written thanks to this frickin "too large to process" (LOL!) error :/
Telegram:

Mike I don't like stereotypes either.

London is cosmopolitan. Certainly not stuffy. Other cities in the UK have a different feel.

Labels drive me crazy. I can't capture my sexuality in one word. "Bi" and "gay" are inaccurate. Settled for "ex traight" LOL

Strangely enough, the concept of "straight" is very blurred in Spanish. They just say "hetero"=he likes women/she likes men, period. It's not a charged word.

Mike what's your take on labels? <33a.

Stereotyping or labeling is unfair, but unfortunately the way most people think. We hear a "keyword" like gay, Jewish, Christian, Black, Southerner, New Yorker, British, etc. and most people have preconceived notions about that person, without knowing that person at all, just thinking that all "...........", (fill in the blank) act a certain way.

As far as labeling yourself, "ex traight", I am curious if until you discovered your new sexuality, while growing up, did you ever look at other guys and think that the guy is hot, or ever fantasize about sucking a guy's dick?

Again, I understand that all humans process information in their own way, but for myself ever since I was a very little boy, I found good looking other kids, teens and adult men as being hot, and guys always turned me on, and never women, so it is hard for me to conceptualize finding a new sexuality in my 20's, but I certainly believe you and respect how your journey differed from mine.

This is part of my fun experience, participating on this forum, learning and understanding both the similarities and the differences between all of us. We all found our way here through a mutual desire to see good looking young guys getting naked and having gay sex, but the variations between all of our mindsets can vary by incredible degrees. That is why I try so hard NOT to make declarative statements regarding a model or a type of scene, as I understand that what is obvious to me is not the same to everyone else, and vice versa.

I did indeed see them and ride several of them. We bought a bus pass before we left and purposely took some of the more historic routes so we could sit on top of the double-deckers and listen to the audio explanations as we went along. A few times we were forced below by the very typical London rain. lol It was also a goal of mine to ride in a real London taxi cab, which I did a few times. The British do seem to be sticklers for wanting buses and mass transport to be very precise and on time. :) Being a bus driver must be extra stressful in trying to keep to that precise schedule, day in and day out.

I can't quote your post, Mike :/ I've heard this a lot, little kids (both male and female) being attracted to their same sex. It makes sense to me. You were "born that way,"

My experience was very different. No, sucking dick never crossed my mind. I'll give you the details in a bit, I'm still stuck with this frackin telegram issue.

Very true. Each episode is up for grabs, it's impossible to please everyone every single time.
I couldn't quote you fully, this issue is really getting on my nerves.

I wake up feeling great BUT the problem is the first hour after waking up. I don't get a hangover, but I do weird stuff. This has subsided a whole lot (the first week I was on Saphris I mooned my neighbors). It's still there, though, I get lots of emails every day and I can't answer them during the Saphris kookiness. I mix up names, places, dates etc. Apparently I need to stay away from the board too :/ It's either this or not sleeping for 4 days straight. <33a
