I've just done a little research and noted that so far this year there has only been 11 new models come through Broke Straight Boys Yet in 2013 there was 34 and in 2012 there was 45 and 2011 brought 49 newbies through the door.

So is there a shortage of guys applying to become models at Broke Straight Boys, OR are you being more selective.

There is an abundance of applicants to be Broke Straight Boys - we have more recently chosen the path of picking what we feel are the best applicants and working with them more...giving them more of a chance to be coached up and developed into better performers. Although you may notice less new models brought in this past year, I do believe we have really brought in a much better ratio of GOOD models that members want to see more and more of. We have found and helped develop some real winners this past year and look to increase those numbers in the year to come....I hope you can appreciate our approach

I, for one, really like your approach, Johnny. I could watch most of the newbies recently introduced in scene after scene. One of the joys of this site is, precisely, watching a nervous straight guy develop into an accomplished, confident gay porn star enjoying every aspect of man sex.

Thanks for replying so quickly Johnny, I can see from your posts that you really are passionate about your work. The problem with what you explained above, is that if for instance, top models like Paul or Damien Kyle or Kaden Alexander and Tyler (team Alpha lol) were to suddenly leave for any reason, then this would leave you very short staffed. In the last few months we have already seen the departure of Adam Baer and quite a few of last year's newbies have not returned, e.g Daniel, Skyler, Graham and Finn Also from the 11 of this years newbies, we have not seen many return, the effect of this is that we see a lot of the same models re appearing on a regular basis. If it were not for the recent inclusion of Dimitri, Ronan Kennedy and (forgetting the now well documented issue), Jake, then this site really would have become stale.

Finally I must question why you chose to hire Adam Stipz over all the guys who you say applied ? With all due respect to Adam, he doesn't fall into the same category as the aforementioned 3 newbies and he didn't get a good review at all on his solo.

Thanks for replying and, as I said before, I very much like your work.

I think this is the best approach since it should help to keep the quality higher.

I have to agree with Jon on this to a large degree. There is a heavy reliance on just a few models. Vadim Black was all the rage and then gone before we knew it. Twenty year olds are not known for reliability or being able to keep their focus in one area for very long. Also, the nature of porn is that some guys get the "what the fuck am I doing???" bug and then bug out, or meet a girl that won't let them do porn, or disappear into another life of school or a steady job. As much as most of us love Damien Kyle, Paul and Kaden Alexander, they can't be expected to carry so much of the load (so to speak). There is also the risk that they will get over-exposed on the site and members will lose interest or begin to complain.

I'm glad Broke Straight Boys is being more choosy and it has paid off in several of the models. I guess there's got to be a middle path between so few new models and relying heavily on some of the veterans, and finding more fresh faces to add to the stable.

I am very happy that they are being more selective with their model choosing, as there have been many over the last year or two who I wondered how they qualified to be porn performers. I remember reading years ago that to be a successful gay porn actor, you need two out of three attributes to be successful, and those are 1) a great face, 2) great body and 3) a big dick. The great stars have all three but without at least two, it is not going to work out.

Please keep posting Johnny Robins. The more you write, the more I like the way you think!

Nowadays you probably need a bit more. With what Johnny Robins has told us I would imagine he is also looking for a bit of a character who is honest and genuine. Someone the members can fall in love with - like me for instance lol..

Didn't like Adan Stipz at all . Not looking forward to his upcoming scene . Hope it dose not hurt Damien rating after all his pleading for us to vote for him.
Love to be proved wrong. Got to give a guy a chance. Just dose not look like a Broke Straight Boys to me..Or even a boy.Well I guess will see. Hope to be happily surprised..Going to watch though.

I have to agree with you 100% I dont like him either I was debating even watching it for various reasons so as always I trust you and your opinion so if you say its wortha watch after you look then ill give it a go. I have to say that who ever it is that chooses the models is doing an amazing job as I always say its quality not quantity and the quality of the majority of the models in my opinion is unquestionably amazing. Interesting responses but apart from Stripe no one has tackled the issue of same old same old. Out of the 11 so call super models who made it through the Broke Straight Boys application process Vadim Black has been and gone, Kael Diggs and Dylan Sharp just did solos, Jaxon Ryder's last appearance was 20 Apr, Zeno Kostas's last appearance was 5 may, whilst Jaden Bentley's last show was 23rd May. That really leaves our beloved Tyler White who it looks like is here to stay, Jake/Ronan Kennedy and Dimitri who are the newbies on the block and Adam Stripz who's duo is soon.

Not criticisms just observations ok..

Fill out the form Jon, the airplane ticket will be on your PC by morning!

Jon I haven't got a problem with your criticisms I honestly don't as I love a healthy debate and I really do love reading other peoples opinions and that includes yours, my only problem that I mentioned before was the way you put them sometimes as to me they can sometimes seem brutal and rude, but I don't know you and haven't even spoke to you so I don't know what your sense of humour is like or how the post or comment was meant to be taken, I'm not very good at writing unless its in poetry so I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. Anyways back to the main point of the post. I have to agree with you on the fact that alot of the models either didn't stay very long or only did a solo, what I was trying to say (as I said I'm not good at saying things properly) is that Id rather have some really good looking guys and not have new models as often then have a load of different new models that are just average looking and no personality. I do think it might be a good idea to some how get the models to commit to a certain number of scenes on contract and also get them to sign that they will not move over to a different site for a certain amount of time but I can understand that due to the nature of the site that this might not be easily done or even possible. Dan you dont always have to preceed your responses to my posts with the other paragraph, I get your drift.

There have only, IMHO, 3 or 4 really good looking guys since January, but I feel that my main concern, and I've mentioned this before, is that Denver is not the gay or straight capitol of America and that the studios are somewhat out on a limb. When BSB1 director David was in charge the models went to Florida and now I find that Johnny Robins is actually based in FL. Maybe the site should do a trial where Johnny gets some guys from FL and see whether this is better. Again this is only a suggestion, so keep off my ass

how very dare you be like that I only started my post as I did as you ended your post with "not criticisms just observations ok.." and I was trying to be kind and nice by letting you know I dont mind if your critical of what I put its just the way you put it sometimes and I said if you care to read that it may be because I dont know you or your sense of humour. I tried to be kind and you decide to through shit at it and rub it in, I guess I was right in the first place in my perception of you. So thank you for confirming things.
