How do we get more members posting?

I was a member for awhile before I even noticed there was a forum. Maybe a more visible sign showing that this site has a forum?? In response to Studdandy's post: I understand what you're saying in regards to being ignored by the regular posters. When I joined there were 100's of people posting everyday, so it was really tough to get noticed. Most of the people had been posting together for a year and even back then they treated newbies like the plague!! I called them "the gay click" and then I just ignored them and posted whatever I wanted to say. One day a guy named Aquarius aka Rifle for the old forumites lololol responded to my post and even though it was then I felt like I was included the GC still ignored me. So then my real personality came out "I don't give a fuck about you stupid bitches and what you agree on" and then folks seem to like my honesty. Sure we all want to belong, but I recommend that everyone stick to your guns and your taste in porn and comment only on how you really feel.

Hey there. I’ve been a member of Broke Straight Boys for years. I’ve never used the forum as it’s not very user friendly.... it would be way better if you could just use your log in details for the main sight and go straight to the forum page and comment.....

This is a truth.

But there are people on here that post THOUSANDS of posts, and if you don't have the stamina to just ignor being ignored, and the passive aggressive attitude that runs the site, then you won't last long here.

And most people aren't that confrontive.

I just ignore them. But occasionally I have been taken on by the whole damned click. Say the wrong thing and these fuckers will passive aggressively stomp your ass.

Because I didn't like this kid's haircut, this click member said she wasn't going to ever post on here again. This caused the entire click to jump down my throat. But the kid had an ugly haircut and only showed up on a couple of scenes and never back again. The general membership saw it just like I did. But the one who was NEVER going to post again, never kept her promise and just kept on posting.

But my next birthday, I'll be 90. And how much do you think I give a shit! Running into a bitchy, passive aggressive queen is not a new experience to me.

I just keep posting.

But their position is, if you don't hate Broke Straight Boys, if you like more than 4 or 5 people, or if you even WATCH every scene, then you just aren't right for this forum. Well, it turns out, that I LOVE Broke Straight Boys, just the way they are running things today. This is a GREAT porn site.

Since our week together Peter, I have personally met several other formumites like Tampa, and PetefromStPete in Florida and Rep and Bart here in NYC who also got a shorter version of the "mikeyank reality tour", but of course they all got to see my personally autographed Broke Straight Boys towel by Jason, Blake, Denver & Cole. And many more members have become message, email and phone buddies as well.

I love the forum, old members and new members alike, Yes, we have had a few dicks here over the years, (like rifle lol), but the vast majority are really cool people and I always welcome new members to join in on the fun. New members come on in and dip your toes in the waters, the water is just fine and we don't bite either. lol

Yes exactly Amen to that. I’ve reconnected with gay friends here. I’ve lived completely marooned in the straight community for years. It’s nice to be able to chat and bitch with the “gurls” as we used to call ourselves back when I had a host of gay friends when I was in Austin and Dallas.

I promise to start posting more from here on out. I actually got bored with this forum so there's that plus I do have real life BGB who frequent my domain. I work graveyard so my hours are opposite from everyone I know hence the 1:30 am post!! So to do what and who I like during the days and my nights off doesn't leave me much time to visit this forum or GCF. But I'll try and do better. What I don't like and never have are bullies on this forum (unless it's me lolol) so we will all get along well and respect our differences and this forum will thrive again..... I don't have over 5k posts by keeping my mouth shut!!!!

Good observation Lkpt14094, the word is "clique". But onto the substance of this supposed clique, at one time I could see that as a semi valid point, back when there was a group of us regulars who had "inside' jokes and all, but that group has largely disappeared. At least two have passed away and others just moved on and quit the site.

Right now Tampa and I are the two with far and away the most posts, but we've always had basic disagreements about models, whereas I loved Jimmy Johnson and he loved Colin & Ian, so we were never part of any "group think". And my two closest "off forum" friends today Peterh of Seattle and Rep often disagree with me on models and scenes as well.

In fact, I think of myself as being very different from the current taste on the forum, and so if anything I am "clique of one" being into straight acting, young smooth toned top boys who don't want to bottom. As Rep likes to say, I am like an old Southern lady being a defender of their virtue and their virgin bottoms. lol There are a few forum guys who sometimes come on the forum who agree with my taste, but for the most part I am the one out of step with current values of the forum.

However I always go out of my way to try to welcome new members to the forum and encourage them to openly express their thoughts and feelings. So my question is exactly who today in June 2019 are the members of this supposed "clique"?

I agree with Mikeyank, I don’t think we can say there is much of a clique these days. For the most part we are civil and respect one another except when Mikeyank tries to defend those before mentioned virgin asses. Lol. That gets on my nerves. Many of us are into cherry pop scenes but variety as they say is the spice of life.

I think what has pissed off a few people is when they have made a disparaging comment about a model that some of us thought was a bit over the top. There is kind of an unwritten rule that we don’t disparage the physical appearance of modes too much. After all many of them read the forum. A few members get upset when they think someone has gone too far and occasionally I’ve noticed a little piling on when this happens. That’s what I’ve noticed. But I don’t call it a clique. There are so many diverse opinions and taste on this forum and in general most members are pretty tolerant of each other’s opinions. I’ve found a few people that I used to spar with a bit actually have lots in common with me and we often agree more than we disagree when I get to know them, but that’s not even the point. It’s just a forum to talk about porn. It’s not an exclusive club. Any paying member can have a voice. Most of us are pretty welcoming and Mark and the staff give us a pretty wide berth on conversation. Most of us try to be respectful of Broke Straight Boys and their business and management rarely tries to rein us in. So what’s the big deal? Can’t we all get along? I don’t think there are any real cliques but there are a few bigger than life personalities and egos. As a very wise very gay friend once told me. “Girls, let’s put it on low burner.”
