No week on Broke Straight Boys (for me at least) would ever be complete, without letting you know that you are the most exciting, perfect, and inspirational model and personality: in the whole history of this genre. Actually, no, I haven't ever been with a guy like Jason, and don't imagine that I ever will be. And I really have never gone out "looking" for a guy like J., at all - and honestly, I have never had a lover, or even a friend, who really looked like Jason.
In fact, I think it would be a huge mistake ever to go looking for someone like J., because I don't think that person other than Jason - actually exists. Not in looks, not in attitude, not in charm. I am just happy to have encountered Mr. J. here on Broke Straight Boys; actually, I think I saw him first on College Dudes, and when I did, I thought, "WOW, that guy. . . just charms the hell out of me. . . ." And he has never ceased to do so, and that is why he is one of my top ten models of ALL TIME ~ like Ion Davidov, Brett Winters, Chad Knight, and the inevitable Travis. (I don't expect to meet their like again, either!)
But, Beth, JASON has always done something very special for me, even above and beyond all my other favourite models (carefully selected over thirty years): I suppose (in large part) because of all his brilliant and thoughtful postings, on this board. But also, because of the way he SPEAKS, and relates to OTHER models. I think JASON is perhaps the hottest guy whom I have ever seen, on film (the scene that really SOLD me, was his scene with Jack Griffin, on College Dudes): but J. is also so funny, smart, kind-hearted, and sophisticated, too. . . . EVERYTHING he does. . . ALWAYS makes me smile
When it comes to "looking", though: I don't look, a lot. My high-school crush, I don't think that I could conjure for you, in terms of looks, at all. (He looked a little like Jeff Withey, the Kansas basketball star.) But he was straight, and nothing came of that.
My boyfriend in university was Dutch-Canadian, and the spitting image of James Van Der Beek ~ I mean really, REALLY, close ~ except my boyfriend had really dark, chestnut, hair. (And we were close, and his Mom HOPED that we'd get married!) But - other issues interceded, and, we didn't. (There must be a propensity for cute, dark-haired Dutch boys in my family, because my sister married one ;-)
You've heard the saying: "Opposites attract?" In some way, I imagine this is true, because (though I'm blond: or used to be!) I'm MOST attracted, always (especially in later years - there WERE no real brunets, where I grew up) to guys with jet-black hair. My current b/f (hopefully the last, but CERTAINLY the last: I'll seek no more) is like that. He is strong, broad-shouldered, and athletic, and looks a little bit (I think) like the quarterback, Tim Tebow. . . but is a whole lot more beautiful, than Tim, I BELIEVE. And wow, I love this guy like CRAZY. (If y'all think I am nuts about my favourite models, you should see me with a boyfriend ~ *Blush*)
Anyway, I hope that that answers your question! No, Beth, NONE of my boyfriends, in real life, has looked ANYTHING like Jason! ))As I may have explained to the board at some earlier time - "Ambivalent" is a sort of "legacy nickname", carried over from earlier times, and which was adopted for other reasons (mostly so I could remember my log-in!); and I decided just to keep it, since, after several years away from Broke Straight Boys (and College Dudes, too) - - - when Jason returned, I found that all my "friends and faves" were kept for me, under my ancient nickname!
But. . . my nickname certainly has nothing to do with my friendships, tastes, or sexuality - and NOTHING at ALL to do with my idol, Jason Matthews! (So, there it is, in a little nutshell. I'm afraid not everyone at the camp-fire seemed comfortable with that
observation, but perhaps they will discover the truth of it for themselves
