Hey everyone! Ian Dempsey Here!

Dear Ian,

Congrats on your nomination. Hey, I just thought of a great creative writing assignment for you! I would love (and I expect other members here would as well) to read a letter you might write, dated today, to the "Ian Dempsey" of September 12, 2012, letting him know the many ways in which his life is going to change during the next year - including any highs and lows you're willing to share. Younger "Ian's" reply upon receiving this information would be great to read too. Oh, and if you accept this assignment, be sure to have last year's Ian warn Damian against doing any dumpster fisting, 'kay? Regards, Dec

Thats a great idea!! I love writing letters and stuff like that! I was also thinking about starting a video blog where members can ask questions and I talk about them every week in a video I do. But I really like this idea too! Thanks!

I think you would get a very positive response to that Ian. :) The more you interact and share on the forum, the more popular you become. At least that has shown to be the case in the past. lol It was very well received overall when Blake did it.

Okay, so I typed the letter, so I'll post that after this, and if you guys have any questions about the letter, or just questions for me about anything, post them on this thread and Ill try to answer all of them in the video I'll post on Tuesday. And Tuesday's will be when I post a new vid about new questions! So I hope you all enjoy :)

September 12, 2013

Hey Buddy,

I know you don’t know who I am, but after further reading this letter you will come to find out that we have a lot in common. I wanted to take this opportunity to give you a heads up on what the coming year for you is gonna look like. And no I'm not some weird physic or voodoo woman. My name is Ian Dempsey I’m just over 18 and a half years old and I have a bit of an unorthodox job. But don’t mind that now; it will all make sense later.

I'm gonna start off by suggesting you enjoy the next 6 months, because come March, everything, will change. For better or for worse I’ll let you decide. Your senior year is just getting started and let me tell ya’, this is your year. I know you’ve always had fun through high school, even when it seemed like you had no friends, someone was always there for you. And besides, you never let that shit get you down to begin with. “You’re no sissy!” But this year is different. Chief editor of photos for yearbook, over $10,000 in scholarships for one photo you took, another photo you took will receive over 60,000 likes and 2,000 shares on facebook, but you're going to have a very difficult time with that picture… your high school will come together like never before and be there for each other in that time of uncertainty. You all will be tested, but you get through it. You’re going to get suspended for a day because you had the brilliant idea to walk on the 2nd floor balcony. But it’s okay, go ahead and do it, its so worth it. You’re gonna rear end a teacher while trying to leave one day in the new car your parents got for you, but don’t worry, you’ll be able to pop everything back into place and won’t tell your parents what happened. And due to your personality you're gonna end the year with a HUGE bang, and I would have expected nothing less from you. A graduation speech so perfect, so epic, it single handedly becomes the highlight of the night not only to your friends, but also to parents, and even some administrators. And the icing on this awesome cake; the administration completely re-writes the rules and guidelines for future speeches, all because of you. It will be a good feeling, one of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Now, where I come in. Shortly after you return from outdoor lab with the 6th graders you will start your senior research paper. Because you live on the edge and love to push the limits, you will decide to write your 10-page paper, on porn addiction. It’s the only thing that will sound interesting to you. Don’t feel ashamed though, you are a teenage boy after all. I won’t judge you. Then one day during your research a though will pop into your mind. “How does one even apply to become a porn star?” And you’ll continue to think, and remember a TV show on MTV you saw when you were about 11. It was about a guy who did gay porn, but was straight, and he did it because it made him a lot of money. And that is gonna get you thinking, why can’t you do the same thing? You Google “gay porn applications” and something for BluMedia will pop up. Now you’ll fill out all the written stuff, but when it comes time to submit photos you’ll get a little nervous. So you decide to wait until the swim season gets under way so you look more tone. You save the application, and that’s how you leave it. Four days pass by and you get a text from a producer with BluMedia asking if you want to go in for an interview. It’s okay to be shocked, you never really submitted your application and you’ll wonder why they would be willing to take such a risk to interview someone they don’t have pics of. But let’s be honest, you’ve always had really good luck with jobs. Just go to the interview, don’t freak out when you see the house, I know it’s fucking amazing, you’ll never really get over that. You’re going to be nervous, more so than usual, just go with it. Shane, he’s the guy who will text you about the interview; he’s a pretty chill guy. He’ll see potential in you and ask if you want to do a solo scene later. Your nervous, but you say yes. So at the end of the day you will have done your first porn scene. Now you have to do all the paperwork that goes along with it. Shane will ask you if you have a stage name in mind, you won’t. So Shane will give you one. He comes up with, Ian. Ian Dempsey.

Yes, I’m Ian Dempsey. Which means that you’re Ian Dempsey. We never thought this would happen. Ever. It’s okay. You’re gonna be scared and intimidated at first, but trust me, everyone with BluMedia is really nice. When you meet Sabrina, you’re gonna love here. She has the same dry dirty humor we do. Not to mention an amazing German accent. Mark is super awesome too, you guys will become good friends and he’ll have you over often to help out around the house and what not. Its fun, just getting to hang out with everyone. We end up doing two scenes for a site called College Dudes, and then Mark will say we would be better with Broke Straight Boys And understand that that apparently doesn’t happen too often, were like one of two models to ever make that switch. But don’t let that go to your head. Just stay who you are, we’re pretty good at not letting things change who we are. I’m still the same guy that you are. Same friends, same goals, different car though. Yeah I went out and got a 76 Blazer. She’s a beast, but rusty as fuck… So I still have to figure out what I want to do with that… but oh well. And you got a new phone. I know, what a shocker! Well actually, two new phones. After graduation you order an iPhone 5 off ebay, what a great idea that was dumbass!! That piece of shit was definitely not in mint condition as advertised. But that’s okay, just a few days ago I traded it in for a phone called the Nokia Lumia 1020. You’ll hear about it over the summer, AMAZING camera, I love it!! And of course Apple will be releasing not one, but two new iPhone 5s in just a few weeks… figures. But the Lumia is a keeper for sure.

I will tell you that it’s not all fun and games. One night I told mom I was spending the night at Tanner’s house, but was going to spend the night at the Mansion. Long story short, I left my phone unattended and she called SEVEN times! Now of course you know how she gets when you don’t answer the phone. I tried to explain to her that I had left my phone upstairs and we were all hanging out in the basement. That didn’t go over too well with her. She threatened to drive over to Tanner’s house that night to see if I was even there. So naturally I was scared shitless. But that’s not the first time she’s threatened to do that.

I need you to just know, that the next morning, when I went home, she kinda knew something was up, and that I wasn’t telling the truth. So I told her. That was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Please promise me that when you have to tell her, that you let her know we didn’t do any of this to hurt her. That she didn’t do anything wrong raising us, and that it’s not her fault. Remind her that you’re a very headstrong person, and that you’ll stop when we don’t like it anymore or don’t feel safe. She will cry. And that will be the hardest part. She’s gonna tell you to stop, and that you deserve better, and she doesn’t want anything to happen to you. She will still love you, but wishes we didn’t do what we do. So even though she knows, try your best to never tell her what you’re actually doing when you leave the house. I told her that I don’t tell her that I still do it because I know she doesn’t like it. And that I don’t want her to feel bad.

For the most part however it’s smooth sailing. We go to Denver Pride and that was fun. We even won first place in a doggie drag contest, so that was fun, hahaha. Everyone is really nice, and down to earth. They see you as one of the more mature models and appreciate you always willing to help out. So just keep that up and I think we’ll do just fine here. I’m still waiting to watch Titanic 3D with Mark. Mark shares the same love for that move as we do. OH!! And Titanic came out on Blue-Ray!!! It’s the best thing ever!!! I bought the Blue-Ray, DVD, 3D, Digital Copy combo pack… so now all I have to do is buy a 3D TV and I’ll be set! Now go have fun with your soon-to-be crazy ex-girlfriend ;).

Your friend, Ian.

Holy cow, you not only accepted my "assignment" but you knocked it outta the park there, "Ian".

Blessings on your head (okay sure, I'm an atheist but I truly mean this in my heartfelt, Golden-Rule-living, up-with-humankind, yay-for-porn way).

Oh my God Ian. Thank you so much for that!

What an amazing story. I can only imagine how long it took you to write all that for our benefit. You have really raised the bar here. I'll have a whole lot of questions later, I'm sure. lol For now though I just wanted to express my appreciation to you for doing this for us.

As I've said in the past, one of the best things about the Broke Straight Boys site in particular is that through the mini-interviews before the scenes, the forum and the BTS vids...we get to know the models as real human beings, with real lives, real daily challenges and their own hopes and dreams for the future. On other sites, that 3-dimensional human element is not there. Many times the models (on other sites) can be little more than cardboard cutouts with no personality or depth. Therefore all that's there to evaluate and enjoy is their exterior looks and performances while getting nothing more out of the experience than sexual gratification.

When we see the human side of a model where we find things in common and past or present experiences that are relatable, we feel much more emotionally invested in them as people. All of which of course adds immeasurably to the interactions and online bonds of friendship and goodwill between the models and their fans. While the greetings and feelings between models and fans may be expressed by "virtual" means here in the forum, the feelings of respect, admiration, appreciation and friendship can be very real. (As many members of the forum who have become friends can attest to. lol)

Well done Ian! Thank you again! xoo :001_smile:

Great post Ian, thanks for letting us into a bit of your life. So what has been the reaction of your school buddies ? as I'm sure some of them have watched the scenes.

Oh For Goodness Sake! Ian, your letter to yourself is simply awesome! I appreciate the time and trouble it must have taken for you to get that all down and making sense. Thank you :001_smile:

Again Ian, your letter was so awesome. I honestly feel privileged just to have gotten a glimpse into your life. Boy do I have a lot of questions. lol

The closest thing I have to relate to your story about your mother was when I came out to mine. It did not go well either. It went very much the same way as it went for you telling your mom about gay-for-pay porn. I have no questions on that for you though. I appreciate you sharing as much on that subject as you did. Just to say that we are kindred spirits in a sense because I have been in that place with my own mom. She and I worked through it though and we have a great relationship today. She understands and no longer blames herself for anything.

I'm intrigued by how well your speech went over at school. I assume you still have it. Would you consider sharing it with us sometime? I know that I would love to read it. I know a speech is best heard than read. But even so it sounds great from the way it was received by the audience and staff of the school. If you did share it, of course you would need to redact certain info like the name of the school and the names of any teachers, friends or fellow students who you refer to. Like "X High School" instead of Booker T. Washington High School. Or instead of your friends Pete and John in the speech, they become Bob and Ted. Teacher Mrs. Jones becomes Mrs. Smith, etc. If you refer to the time your school football team went to the New Mexico state finals in 2012 (something a quick Google search would turn up right away) you might want to omit that, and so on.

So would you consider doing that Ian? It sounds like the way you delivered the speech was quite unique and broke the mold. If you could elaborate on that I know I'd be most interested in hearing that as well. :)

Thanks Ian!

Ian, your letter floored me. It was such a great way to sneak a peek into your life. I have so much respect for you.
The way you handled this "assignment", just goes to show how intelligent you are
I never would have been able to write such a beautiful, heartfelt letter.
I, too, am curious about your graduation speech but I won't insist on reading it. I am really proud of you for breaking ground with your speech! What an achievement!
I hope you'll keep sharing some of your life experiences with us, guys. We love interacting with the models.

Again Ian, your letter was so awesome.

I'm in agreement too, Tampa. Still floored that our Ian took my assignment and ran with it. But as his letter amply shows, he's certainly not one to spin his wheels, rest on past laurels or indulge in any other literary clichés.

Now I'm just wondering if I should nudge other models forward towards new endeavors. Hey, Skylar, if you're reading Ian's thread, I think you should start taking harp lessons right away, m'kay? And Griffin, I've just now decided that you're in charge of the mansion's earthquake preparedness plan. Of course Ian will still rescue anyone in the pool who starts drowning as the 'quake hits but you can be in charge of first aid and the feeding tent.

You are very funny Declyn, but your question did get an astonishingly in depth answer making me very curious to see what Ian has planned for us in the near future with his video blogs and all.

Blake set the bar very high with his introspective video blogs that took us into his real life, his home, and allowing us to meet some of his friends, even "taking" us on a vacation cruise with his crew.

I am now very intrigued to see what Ian has up his sleeve to entertain us. This is another example where I have a whole new interest in a model after either reading his posts or watching him be himself in the behind the scenes.

Amazing Ian. Your letter was very honest, open and full of words to live by. I would suggest that you send this to your mom, yea, she'll know about the car, but as long as you are safe, she will not mind. As a mom myself, I have a 21 year old daughter, the one thing we parents really want for our children is their happiness. Remember, as a family, you will be connected forever; your efforts to be honest with her may be a sore subject for now, but in time, always in time, things will work out.
I saw the two scenes you were in for College Dudes and enjoyed them both, but you have to do what is comfortable for you. And as always, think about this gig as being just part of your life; it doesn't define who you are, it just helps you get where you want to go. Enjoy! Love mom:001_wub:

Well for those of you who still want to fantasize that our models are "broke" straight boys - Ian's letter puts the kabosh on that. Assuming, of course, that it is non-fiction.

I believe what he says is true. Plus the term "broke" is very subjective for all of us...both younger and older adults alike. Regardless of how wealthy one's family may be, an 18-19 y/o guy tends to always want his own money for the next new thing without humbling himself to go hat in hand to one or both of his parents. As any of us can surely relate to, when one seeks money from parents one has to explain and justify every expense and purchase. Whereas if it's your own money you can spend it on anything...regardless of how important or frivolous it may seem to others.
