Don't shy away from posting just because you are worried that some people might disagree with you. There would be little point to even having a forum if we all agreed on everything. We respectfully disagree with each other quite often. With no hard feelings or offense taken. Disagreements and different perspectives are what create the liveliest debate anyway. I don't disagree with you as far as Torin needing to play the macho bit, but he doesn't have to be an asshole about it. He said some very nasty uncalled for things to Aiden.

Hey, guys,

I know that this site is 'Broke Straight Boys', but - may I confess something to you? I DON'T have a "straight-boy" fetish: except insofar as 95% of the male population is straight: and I just love goodlooking young men!

The reason I came to Broke Straight Boys is purely and simply because the site has a lot of really beautiful guys. I could care less if they're straight, or gay: except inasmuch as there are a lot of cute straight guys out there, whom we'd never get to see, if there weren't a site like Broke Straight Boys! But if a guy is bi-curious, or gay, and likes to KISS, it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

I have to say, my initial reaction to Torin was that I didn't like him at ALL. I don't find him goodlooking in a way that interests me, in any way whatsoever (though I know there are people who'll feel otherwise.) I don't have an issue with his liking the bottle - we all have our failings, and, as others have said, it may well all be an act for the camera, anyway. But I certainly found the anger and homophobia a giant turn-off, for the whole scene. (I didn't find it hot, at all: but likely I'm in the minority, on that score.)

Two things, however: 1.) I know that David and the guys who run the site work very hard to find models that we will appreciate. . . and that isn't EASY!. . . and they can't always predict how a model will 'turn out' on cam. And. . . sometimes the 'misses' are more interesting (and even, strangely, almost as sexy) as the "hits"! Anyway, for my own two cents worth...Aiden is absolutely adorable and for the little money he got, he sure took a verbal beating. My sentiments exactly Lester. There have been interesting remarks made on this thread regarding Torin - the good, the bad and the ugly. As always of course we are expected to believe the good things (Torin putting Steve up after Steve's parent's gaff got burnt down) - David was quite upfront and honest about this so I guess it's true.

I do not retract from my earlier comment about his self confessed and repeated claim that he is an alcoholic. Unfortunately I know someone who is an alcoholic and can see some similarities, e.g mood swings, attitude etc. So i actually believe this too.

pretty brillian efa. I was born in the midwest and was so allergic to the farm I grew up on that I only went to primary and middle school half the requisite time because of bad asthma, until going to England to school at 16.

I was PC-appalled at first at how the English guys dissed each other so cruelly. Just some random observations - We really don't know how recent this shot is, but there have been hints lately that rates at Broke Straight Boys are going up for models, to align it more closely with other sites. I do think it's acceptable in some circles. Just as nigger is a benign symbol of complicity and brotherhood among rappers, fag can be as affectionate as any of the sweeter names we might call the guy we love, between, well, fags like us. It depends entirely, entirely, on context.

In the case of this now famous video, the context was testy and seemed tinged with hostility. If the passages in which animosity seemed to be in the air had made the guy in charge of the montage uneasy he could have sought guidance from either Mark or David, and maybe even did. Those bits weren't so crucial to the scene that they couldn't have easily been chopped just in the normal splicing of it together (which splicing was very well done btw). It's pretty close to certain they were retained in the name of "reality", which we all have praised at one point or another. David is such a dear guy that I suspect that before letting him go to the shower he either asked Aiden if he was ok with how the discourse had evolved during the scenes(s), or at the very least commiserated kindly with him. They obviously get on really well, although both of them seem like guys who get on with almost anyone, and Dave wouldn't have been insensitive with that boy, for sure.

I don't mind the use of a word, I only despise a person who uses that word to hurt. What we write and say is so hedged round with such multiple potential misreadings that savvy communication skills are vital to make sure that what we intend is what is understood. I've seen what I would almost call bitchy jibes leveled sneakily at members by their fellow forumites here on this board. These made me much sadder than the dialogue on this video, and none of the verboten tags were even used in them.
