"Would you Rather...?"

okay, here is an interesting thought that came into my head....so why not put it up on the Forum for all to participate. As in the game, there are no 'right/wrong' answers, lets just see how it goes? Since I made the game up, so to speak, I will set BASIC rules so that as MANY members, can/will want to participate. There can/should be a NEW 'WYR' scenario, WITH EVERY UPDATE. Along WITH your answer, you need to explain WHY it is you chose that particular choice.

The FIRST WYR question/scenario is: "Would you rather know the EXACT date/time that you will die, or would you rather NOT know? Why?/Why Not?"

(NOTE:I started off with an 'easy'(so-to-speak), non-sexual question, however, it is OPEN FORUM for those that are the 'cyber-emcee's' in the future. I will start it out:

End of life

I have had to face this scenario a few times, so my answer might be biased. I can honestly say that I would DEFINITELY like to know the date that my life here will end, so that I can get everything on order, prepare my loved ones, reassuring them. On the other hand (and being a bit selfish), this way I could TRULY look at my goals in life, and put them into proper perspective.
As I have shared I have/wanted to see 6 of the 7 continents, so I think that this would be an opportune time to make something good from something bad happen. As stated prior, I have gotten Extensive North America/Mexico/Caribbean/extensive Europe, 'outta the way' now I need Asia, Australia, and South America, and Africa!!

This is a little more trivial, but... WYR give up sweets or alcohol?

Personally, I'd give up sweets first. Well... No, I'd give up alcohol first... No.... Sweets. Sweets, for sure. NO! Alcohol.... Ack. I need to ask a better question....

I would not want to know! For me, I think one should live so that if you die suddenly, the people you love already know you loved them. What's more, I think I'd be apprehensive knowing how much time I had left and trying to get everything done that I wanted. I would not want to live like that.

Herein lies the conundrum for me... I can give up neither.... So it's not really a good WYR experiment. Chocolate and vodka and red wine are all great necessities in my life. I try not to mix them, though. So if it's chocolate, then no vodka or wine, etc.

However, last night I mixed them all up and today I have a headache!!!

I already feel too much pressure to accomplish everything. I think if I knew when I was going to die, I'd ruin it all, worrying all the time about the things I won't get done. Especially because, as you are well aware, I am the quintessential procrastinator! And no way can anyone get it all done in a day

Great question. I've been thinking about this a bit. I was thinking if I was to die in a week would I want to know. I first thought yes but then thought about guys on death row and then about is there anything really I would want to do within a week that would really make me feel happier on death. So I came to the conclusion that I would not want to know the date/time of my death. So I think so far you are in a minority of one.

I would rather be able to be invisible as I think I would go mad reading others thoughts all the time. To be a bit of a voyeur is a little arousing too!

We don't want to know when our time comes, but we are well prepared already anyway. We wrote once, in another thread on the subject of "ten things about me", that a good friend once said, "Do not be afraid of dying, but rather of not having truly lived before you die! We ascribe strongly to that philosophy!

Invisibility works two ways, and we do not want to be missed when we are "out and about, so , no way do we wish to be invisible, even with the thought of voyeurism, and the advantages of not being caught peeking!
