Ok everyone, with all due respect, I'm basically being called a "kiddie on the playground", I've been accused by Coxy of "attacking" (which I was not at all), I've been accused of "baiting", and participating in "foolishness".

If you will go through the thread, you will see that it started when I asked Coxy to provide specific examples of Jimmy doing those things he was accusing him of. My intent was not to attack, nor "bait" him at all. He was making accusations against Jimmy's performances which I completely disagreed with. Coxy then began saying things such as Jimmy's fans being "stupid", which I then responded to by (and I admit, this was rude of me) talking about his mis-spelling of the word "reciprocates".

Coxy got angry with me and I admit that my response to him was rude, for which I apologized to him and stated that I sometimes agree with his views on many things, but that I disagree with his views on Jimmy.

Coxy then asked me to tell him where he was making claims that had no basis in reality, so I proceeded to point out each example.

From there, the whole conversation was taken over by others who were basically acting like they were referring a 2nd grade playground argument. But honestly, Coxy and I were having a discussion and I wasn't offended by him, nor was I trying to be argumentative with him or "foolish", "playgroundish", and I certainly wasn't attempting to "bait" him at all.

I am actually surprised that not one person jumped in other than to make remarks about the discussion itself but saying zero about the content of what Coxy and I were actually discussion. So the conversation went from back and forth questions and comments between me and Coxy, to people acting like we're a bunch of 2nd graders which frankly, I find much more offensive than the discussion itself that Coxy and I were having.

If two people are having a disagreement, in my view it's perfectly acceptable to let them have their disagreement so they can both state their views and move on. Which we were doing, and I was responding to Coxy's questions that he asked me to specifically point out. From there, the conversation was completely taken over by others and I now feel like I am guilty of being "childish and immature" because of participating.

Again, I agree that I was rude to Coxy when I pointed out his mis-spelling, and for that I apologized to him above. But other than that, I don't feel that I was and I certainly don't see asking questions and responding to questions as "baiting", nor "foolishness".

I've been a member of this forum for quite some time, and until now I never felt as if I was being "hauled off the playground and chastised" by outside, unrelated 3rd parties who had nothing to do with the conversation to begin with but then began stating their opinions and commenting about the entire thing and indirectly accusing me of baiting and being foolish.

From this point forward, I am done posting on the forum as the last thing I want to do on my final days as a member is defend myself.

But for the record, I never "baited" Coxy and I acknowledge and admit I was rude to him at one point, for which I apologized.

It was nice getting to know you all, I truly did enjoy it. I will now sit back and lurk for the remaining days I'm a Broke Straight Boys member because I've had it with defending myself. I'm not mad, but I am disappointed that not one person could have looked through and said something in my defense other than commenting on and basically making it look like I was intentionally provoking Coxy because I certainly was not.

it works until someone on the ignore list is quote.

Deidra's right Abe. There is no need for you to leave. I want to respond to some of your points though so that you can hopefully see that few if any of us were abandoning you in this matter.

As I've said before, good men (and women) can disagree. As soon as I saw his parting shot to you in that post I absolutely knew for a fact that he would face consequences for it. While I didn't know when, I knew that Chuck would step in and probably ban him for it. I didn't know when, but I knew it would happen. I've been around long enough to know when somebody has crossed a line where mgmt will step in and take care of it themselves . It may take a little while because Chuck has better and more important things to do than read every single post in here in real time. So that's one reason why I personally didn't respond when Coxy shot himself in the foot.

While you may not have taken great offense at his comment, it doesn't matter as far as the consequences of it. If you let it slide for a few people once in while, then everybody will feel free to do it. Maintaining civility and respectful dialogue is what it's all about. Some consequences from mgmt may be a PM giving the poster a warning of some kind. Other times it may be a temporary ban. In rare cases where the actions are especially egregious the ban is permanent. Since I knew that he had already crossed a line in the sand, I didn't feel the need to add my two cents or pile on.

If you feel that you didn't get enough support from people I am sorry that you took it that way. My take was that you have proven yourself to be a very good writer and debater in your own right. You were winning the argument based on the accusations and the flawed premises that he was giving you. In a case like this one specifically you were doing a pretty good job taking care of yourself. You certainly didn't look like you were in need of any of our help. Or that you were in need of some defending. If you had shown a sign that you wanted backup...it would have been there. But as I say, you were handling this like the mature capable adult that you are. In my eyes you held the high road here.

Now as to your complaints about being cast as some kind of juvenile in this, I frankly don't this directed at you. If you did I'm sure many of us regret that. Ad hominem attacks in arguments are usually the refuge of the losing side. When someone can't win the argument, is losing the argument, or their emotions get the better of them... that's when personal slurs usually start.

As to my one and only post in the thread...I was frustrated with not just the negativity in this thread but what was going on in Colin's new thread. I was upset by the negative tone in what should have been a very positive one. I didn't agree with the poster at all. But he pays his dues like the rest of us and had the free speech right to say what he did. I purposely didn't challenge the negativity on the other thread because that just gives oxygen to the person making inflammatory remarks. The best way to show your displeasure with someone's posts is sometimes by just ignoring them altogether. So it was really the negativity in the two different threads that I was getting exasperated with yesterday.

There's a huge difference between one party making a personal attack and the other person responding to it with a calm and rational response. There were few people reading the thread who were mistaken on which party was which.

I actually didn't need any back-up, I think I was just overly sensitive to being called a child on the playground lol, and probably got more offended than necessary. the suggested changes in jimmy's performance could not be used until the july and august production dates.
we are now seeing those changes.
others could see the changes in the scenes with jason and with mick.
