Hi, guys ~
I used to post on this forum, from time to time, but - when Jason Matthews retired from Broke Straight Boys (or whatever happened) - for the most part, I did, too. I have retained my membership, though, for the excellence of the archives. (And yes, some of the new productions - particularly Brandon's new videos.)
StudddAndy - your criticism of MikeYank (and other old-timers, who are nostalgic for the days of Broke Straight Boys-1, and Broke Straight Boys-2) was pretty cruel, in my opinion. But your apology was timely, generous, and (I believe) genuine.
For sure, StudddAndy - I have had some of these self-same arguments, with Mike. I have never believed that a majority of the models from even the "golden age" of Broke Straight Boys were as "straight", as was always suggested - nor did I CARE about that, either. (I just like to see hot guys, doing what they do BEST ;-)))
But I think it is important to remember that this site styles itself, "Broke Straight Boys" - and so will always be a magnet for those for whom the "believable straightness" of the models, is important. And, perhaps, has a responsibility to them, also.
What IS important to know is. . . (and I address this both to StudddAndy and Leewb). . . I have known MikeYank for many years now, and this I can tell you, with certainty. On this whole planet - descending into chaos, as it is - there is no kinder, more thoughtful, or more generous (in his spirit, or sentiments) person than MikeYank. He loves this site; he loves this board; and he loves everyone upon it.
If he expresses a little nostalgia, for times gone by - you all ought to cut him a little slack. Nothing Mike ever says is ever offered in a spirit of meanness, or unkindness. He is a very gentle man, and everything he offers, is offered kindly. I know no one, in this world, who is possessed of such an irenic spirit, and such a passion for gentle, and tolerant, friendship.
And all here, ought to remember that. In fact, I daresay, even those of us who will never get to know or speak with Mike, in person - will be constrained to concede that we have NEVER had a better friend.
Stowe, of course you frequently drive me NUTS, and our personalities and agendas are not exactly. . . compatible. But your defence of Mike was both valiant, and eloquent, and I thank you for it.
StudddAndy, your apology was both gracious and sweet, and it is my hope that you and Mike will be able to pursue a great friendship, on this board. Leewb, as you have precisely expressed a distaste for others weighing in on topics remote to them - I would only say, likewise, that I am sure that, as you get to know Mike better, if you DO get to know him better, and are willing - all misunderstandings will be mended.
Last, Mr. Bartirah - your posts in this thread caught my eye because, not only do you seem like a very KIND, and WELL-SPOKEN person. . . any great Jason Matthews fan is, prima facie. . . a friend of mine. Jason was the reason I signed up for this site, and the reason I stayed for so long, Mr. B.
Love to all,
"A" XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
