The tale that you mentioned is all too familiar with gay porn stars. That's why I say that we shouldn't glamorize the life of a porn star and I've always said if I had a hot younger brother or nephew I would highly suggest he go into a different line of work. I don't think it is the glamorous life that many of us think it is. And it is why I hope that Jake Spencer is pursuing a lucrative career outside of the industry and that is why he came and left here so quickly, with no evidence of him appearing on any other sites.
I do hope you are right Mikeyank where Jake is concerned. What I think was really sad about this film, and clearly impacted on Jonathan was the role his parents played and impact this had on his mental health and ultimately his dependence on drugs. I know many of the models on
Broke Straight Boys have a strained or non existent relationship with their parents, but Jonathan's to me was extreme. He had in my opinion a "Mummy boy" relationship with his mother, he seems to constantly need her approval and I cannot imagine any of the models at
Broke Straight Boys doing this. He showed her all his films, needed her approval for his costumes (some of these were risque to say the least), took her on shoots, which I cannot imagine any
Broke Straight Boys model doing, can you even comprehend a mother watching her son having man on man action! But for me the real alarm bells in what I would ultimately call an unhealthy relationship, not that I think it was a sexual one in any way was that when he returns to Israel he was happy to go out shopping holding her hand like a small boy. I simply found this disturbing as I cannot envisage any grown man doing this with his mother, girlfriend yes, mother, sister no. She also knew of his drug addiction and escort work, but did nothing to help him.The toxic, very toxic relationship with his father who left him when young was as equally disturbing. His father lives in Berlin, and this where much of the filming took place. Although he claimed he wanted nothing to do with him I felt as a viewer that he really did want one as a Male role when young was clearly missing. He clearly was damaged by his father's actions, who called him a homo at 12, tried to set him up with his girlfriend to have sex with at 12, and pictures were taken of her kissing him, this in my book is child abuse and no wonder he ended up with depression and addiction to drugs. By the end of the film when he was at his lowest it was clear that both parents needed to be held responsible for their son's predicament. Jonathan 's fall was dramatic but I doubt the only porn star to have gone this way. I just hope that if any model that is part of
Broke Straight Boys are able to find help if they find themselves in a similar situation. One last thing I did find Jonathan on Instagram and I believe he is also on Facebook. Unrecognisable from the image that Mikeyank attached.
